The true experience of eating a taco comes with a soft corn tortilla, the succulent meat and charred vegetables, onion and coriander, topped with a spicy salsa or sauce. This is what happens when you eat in any neighbourhood of Mexico. El Gusano crosses the borders of Mexico and takes the experience of eating a real taco to Australia. Taking inspiration from the Mexican popular culture, the posters, the Mexican slang, the iconic masked figures of the Lucha Libre and vivid colours of the colonial style courtyards, El Gusano brings Mexico to your plate.

Amazing friendly service Delicious food, great ambience, warm and relaxed Everything we ordered was packed with flavour I am not a fan of goat but that taco was one of my favourites, delicious desserts and even better margaritas, caramel margaritas were a hit, Vegetarian ones were just as flavoursome Hands down the best Mexican I have ever tasted

Place was cool but the food wasn’t great. Food servings were good but the Tacos were dry and didn’t have any sort of garnish on them. Margaritas were quite sour and not easy drinking. Was expecting a bit more!

We thoroughly enjoyed our soft tacos, which had a variety of interesting fillings, and the margarita was amazing. We would definitely come back.

So yummy. Not a huge selection on the menu. Mainly entrees and tacos but they were great. The chilli margaritas were great. Staff really lovely.
