All was excellent, but we’d made a reservation and our table wasn’t ready when we arrived. The hostess was a bit rude and unhelpful. We waited an hour to be seated and only were when we followed up with a waitress.
We went to celebrate our 16 year wedding anniversary, we actually took a 9:45pm reservation based on the hype around this place and the view we were expecting. The view was lovely, we requested a city side viewing and did get it but based on photos online it doesn’t show that there is actually a balcony outside next to the window, so if you are by the window then there might be people in the other side of the glass on the balcony. So you are not getting the direct city view as the photos are suggesting but it is still a nice view with what you do get. The ambiance is also very nice.
Now to the real reason anyone goes to a restaurant, the food, the food is very overrated. We were disappointed. For a tapas it was very expensive and not even worth the price point. We had the Moroccan Turkey sausage and they were a disappointment and they charge you extra for the hummus, our server didn’t tell us that, he offered it to us as though it was free.
We ordered the seafood paella, worst seafood paella we have ever had, rice was tough in some places and the seafood itself was just blah. Such a disappointment.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant unless to grab a drink and sit on the balcony and look out at the city. Food wise, there has to be better options and better value for your money.
A special birthday evening for my adult daughter. The food and service was exceptional but the noise level made it difficult to communicate and be heard.
Very good. But I did cancel in time a dish I had ordered. I was still charged for it.
Amazing, amazing, amazing! A friend came into town for a last minute conference and we were lucky enough to enjoy the awesome food and atmosphere of El Five. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!
The view was beautiful, service excellent & food was delicious! Perfect dining experience!
Not only is this place super unique but the views are amazing. I went for a birthday dinner and had never been there before and the staff was so accommodating and genuine to myself and my group that you kinda just want to have a conversation with them. Definitely coming back!
I’ll recommend this for people with money. I like El Five, this was my third time in 3 weeks but boy this place it’s expensive!!!! Not even that, it’s expensive and the food portions are tiny. The food it’s pretty delicious but make sure you have money before you come here because ain’t cheap and you may end up hungry.
Great service, great ambiance and beautiful views of Denver.
Perfect! Our server, Keith, was super helpful and kind and made our dinner perfect. We appreciated his suggestions and the hostesses placed us at a cozy corner table by the windows as I requested! Will definitely be back. The garlic dip and seafood paella were worth a return trip alone.
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to visit El Five based on a number of reviews. Food was good and diverse. The Paella was one of the best I’ve had. Drinks were a little light on the alcohol but not bad. Ambiance was great although a little to loud
Service was fantastic. Very attentive
Every table has a view, of the city, mountains, or both. Nice outdoor patio, and vibrant bar scene. Food and bar menus are spendy, and I was surprised they didn't comp the birthday dessert. I like the Edible Eats restaurant group, and believe Root Down or Linger offer the same high-quality food at a better value.
Favorite restaurant, always try planning ahead and making reservations, worth the city view and tables on the east side of the restaurant are way better.
The staff at El Five are rockstars - seriously one of the best brunch experiances I've ever had. Heather our waitress was absolutely fantastic. The portion sizes are small, so be prepared for that but in general great experiance!
I've been to Spain twice, and studied abroad there. The food here is spot on! It makes me want to go back to Spain! Started with jamon iberico, then shared patatas and lamb meatballs, and a seafood paella. I felt the paella could've had more seafood, but it tasted great.
The lack of good quality wines by the glass was surprisingly lacking. I felt this took away from the overall dining experience. However, our waitress was excellent and deserves 5 stars
We tried all sorts of new dishes that were all tasty. Our daughter was visiting from Chicago. The view was awesome. There was even a beautiful full moon. We will be coming back soon.
El Five is definitely the best restaurant in the Edible Beats group, however every time I have been, I have been less than impressed with the service. This particular visit was less of an issue because we sat at the chef’s counter, but the service was still slow. The music was also a little bit too loud.
Food is always great, and being conscious and attentive to food allergies is so wonderful.
Loved everything--except the noise level. When there's only 2 of you and you have to shout, that's no fun.
Loved the ambience just not a fan of the limited food menu. If you are not a Paella lover, you may struggle with finding alternatives. Goat Cheese tapa was delicious.
Excelente lugar y muy rica comida.
Fantastic dining experience. We went there for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. We had a city view table, which was amazing. The service and food were excellent and the drinks were very well made. Our waitress was patient, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely come back again!
LOVE this place. I love the sexy vibe, the outstanding paella, all are very good but I really like the saffron rice, the lebanese garlic dip is soft, silky and smooth when it hits your mouth and of course the views are amazing. I have been there many times and have never left disappointed. Plan on dining for no less than two hours. I can't wait to make it to Sunday Brunch.
El five does not disappoint! Everything from the cocktails to the ambiance and of course the food is phenomenal
Our server was very busy and not that interested in us. I asked about favorites on the menu; he was distracted and never responded. I had to stop several other waiters to replenish my water glass and pour wine.
The food was DIVINE! Amazing flavor combinations, excellent presentation and tons of variety. I loved the food. I can't wait to go back and have an experience with a different server.
The food and flavors were amazing!! I was pleasantly surprised with everything I ate. There was one dish I wasn't wild about but even then it was still good. But the portions are SO SMALL! That would be my only complaint. It's hard to share the dishes when you're not given very much to start with.
Such a beautiful date night. Wife and I had incredible service and it was absolutely perfect for her birthday. The paella was incredible and we just wanted a little more lobster but that’s just being picky:) have already recommended to our family and friends and can’t wait to go back!
Been to El Five several times now. It's always a delight. Terrific food and a real treat from start to finish.
LOVE!! This place was recommended by a friend. I went with my family and we couldn’t have been more impressed. Our waiter’s suggestions were all so on point and sooo very delicious! We ordered the ribs, garlic spread plate, the Turkish pizza, and the cauliflower triangles. Plus a half size of the seafood paella. I do wish we ordered the full size paella, we definitely could’ve crushed that whole thing!! I’ve actually recommended El Five to almost everyone I’ve talked to since going there. Will definitely return!!
Great spot - good food, good service. Hard to beat for a date or special occasion.
I went here for the first time this weekend and on a whim! I got a last minute reservation at 9:30 on Open Table. The city view was incredible! The food and drinks were amazing, as well. I have already recommended it to multiple friends! I definitely will be back again.
Thank you for such a great evening!!
Always my favorite place to bring out-of-town friends! Spreads of the med was SO good we ended up going back for seconds ;)
Waiter was great.
Food was excellent, especially the eggplant fries, spanakopita, hanger steak and seafood paella!
Charlie Mann was kind enough to leave the kitchen and say hello!
Table was small and crowded, only downfall.
Unbelievable experience. I will be back!
Great view, great food and drink and good service. The price is a little steep, but with everything else being above standard, it is a great place to dine.
The food and views are amazing, one of the best restaurants in a Denver!
My wife and I were visiting Denver. Our Denver friends had told us about El Five and we made reservations in advance. Our experience was excellent. My wife said it ranked in our best dining experiences. The experience is multi-sensory. Obviously there is the food, which was ultra-creative and delicious. Then there is the view, which is fantastic, and they had the sliding windows open for a portion of the visit which added something to the ambiance. And there was also the music, which is definitely part of the experience. I would give it my strongest recommendation.
Excellent Mediterranean and Spanish food (better than most I had on a recent trip to Spain.) Vibrant and tasteful atmosphere with great views. Service was somewhat inattentive and slow at times, but overall a very different and highly enjoyable experience.
This place is dialed in - wow. Everything we ate was top notch, so flavorful and unique. The views of downtown are spectacular. I'd highly recommend El Five.
What a trendy but elegant restaurant. The vibe was perfect and timeless. The music was at a a level where it wasn’t over powering and had to talk over it. The food was excellent. I can’t wait to go back when I visit Denver again.
