Awesome spot for dinner. Unique, delicious food and creative cocktails. Jack (server) was exceptional!
WOW! This was my second time and won’t be my last. (Returning reservation soon). The location is fabulous: views of the city and the mountains. The interior is done in a street art type theme of Latin America (my interpretation). The adult beverages were unique and potent. Great service. Great vibe.
We started with Spreads of the Med. This was a generous appetizer that only whetted the appetite for the next tapa. The big surprise was the eggplant fries. Creative and tasty. The lamb sausage tapa, the shrimp and calamari ala plancha, and the lettuce wraps were each unquietly delicious!
Linger has always been a standout for this restaurant group and now I think El Five may surpassed that IMHO.
Seafood paella was AMAZING! Perfect crispy bits at bottom with delicious flavor. Ambiance was perfect and server was there when needed but not overly present. Cocktails and dessert were excellent ribbon on top.
The dumplings with chicken bouillon was excellent and the lobster paella was rich and tasty but chicken was dry. And a wonderful view.
This place has amazing food, drinks, service and views! I would go back in a heartbeat.
Birthday was a success!
Great staff and service. Was our 35th anniversary and they made it a special night. The person who checked us in was awesome, and Heather (our waitress) took great care of us. Seafood Paella was fantastic
Some of the best views of the city! Very crowded and noisy yet intimate and perfect for a couple's date night.
I celebrated my 25th birthday at El Five! This is our first time in Denver and it came highly recommended by our AirBnb hosts. The sangria Porrons was tart and refreshing and the perfect compliment to our entire meal. We started with Spreads of the Med - the Muhammara is out of this world. For our second course we had the Goat Cheese Croquettes and they are one of the best things I have ever tasted. The crunchy exterior combined with the creamy fluffy goat cheese interior was the perfect pairing. Third, we had the matzo ball soup dumplings which is one bite I won’t soon forget. The hot clear broth had such a clean, fresh taste combined with the chewy flavor dumpling filling. Lastly, we had a half order of the seafood paella which was massive and plenty of food for two. The mussels were particularly delicious but I loved all of the varieties of seafood. For dessert, we ordered the Turkish Tiramisu and they brought it out with a candle for me! It was not overly sweet and the perfect finish for our meal. Thank you Keith for going above and beyond to make my birthday extra special!
First time here and it was everything I had hoped for. Service was excellent, fast even. Food was amazing! Shared the Valencia paella and it rocked! Two other tapas were yummy starters. Wine by the glass list was limited but very well curated. The place was packed on a Thursday and so it was lively, if a bit on the loud side. We’ll definitely be back and bring friends.
Food & service were very nice. My only disappointment was in making my reservation so far in advance & requesting s table w/a view was that both a window table & elevated booth were open when we were seated & we were seated at a low booth next to the bar- so not the view seat we were hoping for for our event dinner with family from out of town.
I wish I could say more, I was super excited to eat here for my first time and enjoy the beautiful view. I made a reservation for 10, after checking that they stay open until midnight. I was called by the host staff twice to see if I would like an earlier reservation, but no one explained Why. So I declined. The kitchen closes at 10, so when we arrived there was no one at the host stand, just a sign that said the kitchen is now closed. Womp. We had a drink upstairs but quickly left since I was starving! Lol maybe next time.
The food is always tops, the eggplant fries! But, the service was lacking, which was not normal. We had to ask for water. The restaurant was hot, which made some members of my party extremely uncomfortable. Not the experience I’ve come to expect from this restaurant.
El Five was amazing! We ordered 5 tapas along with some drinks and everything was amazing. My most favorite was the Hanger Steak and the Goat Cheese croquetas. The view is awesome especially on a nice clear day. When the weather is warm they open up the windows and it feels exceptional.
Keith is a great server - made our experience truly memorable. It was our 3rd visit and we can’t wait to come back.
Great place for our anniversary dinner and drinks. Got sat on the glass with great views of city and mountains. Food was fantastic.
Great experience. We were early but still greeted by staff and shown to our table early. The Denver city views are spectacular. Service was great. Loved all of our drinks eapecially the sangria! We ordered several of the tapas and one of the paellas and polished it all off ordering more of the potatas bravas. Will definitely come back, especially with out of town guests
Excellent ambience, customer service, and more! Great job Chris (our server)
We were excited to visit El Five because it had so many positive reviews. My family took me for Mother's Day, sadly the frittata and my hanger steak dish were the only two solid dishes from five entrees we ordered. The waiter recommended the featured entree for my husband, however, the portion size was small and lacked flavor. The restaurant had a good view of the mountains, however, it needs to rethink its menu, pricing and service. Overall the price of brunch was not worth the experience.
Food was good but not sure it lived up to our expectations given what we had heard about this restaurant. Maybe this was more based around the ambiance and views. The crab tapas was lacking seasoning and was somewhat bland. The iberico ham and Turkish pizza were very good. The hanger steak was very tasty and well seasoned. I figured the patatas bravas would be great since it’s a tapas staple but they left something to be desired. The portion was small and the potatoes need to be crispy. I think the cuts were too big, so it reminded me of a baked potato. The sangria was a good portion and it had huge fresh fruit. Overall we would go back as maybe we just didn’t order the right dishes but it didn’t meet our expectations and have had much better meals in Denver for a restaurant rated and hyped as much as El Five.
The food was absolutely outstanding! The service was even better! My husband, friend and I had the most enjoyable experience sitting at the chef's table and being spoiled by Mark and Connor! Dominique helped guide us through the menu so that we tried some of the newer menu items! All in all, a five of five experience!!! ❤❤❤
The food, view, cocktails, and service at El Five makes it a must go in Denver, CO!
The food and cocktail offerings are fantastic. The service is outstanding. The view - no words to describe how beautiful it is.
From arrival to departure it was terrible. First, we had to wait on valet parking attendant. We arrived 15 min early to our 9pm reservation, and got seated at the bar only to shortly be removed and asked to "stand" less than a minute after they seated us. Second, the bar is limited. Husband wanted either a bloody mary or a Budweiser to drink, they had neither. (He drank water.) Third, after being seated and waiting over an hour for our seafood paella, we are told there was an "issue" in the kitchen. Needles to say, we had lost our appetite by then decided to leave. Manager/owner did come to apologise and offer complimentary meal, which we could not accept as we are from out of town. After being in Spain and Morocco a month before, I was looking forward to enjoying Mediterranean food again, but did not get the chance to at El Five. Do not recommend going.
I highly recommend. Libations are creative, tapas are incredible. Break out of your zone, and try something new!
This is a really creative place with a wonderful menu and service. Love you was great and we like to come here when we come to Denver and meet up with family. We all had a great time.
Had been looking forward to this reservation for some time. We had a table for my sons college graduation and El Five did not disappoint.
There is a sense of mystery as you get there, seeing only a hostess stand and an elevator.
When you emerge the view takes your breath away immediately. Then the staff and food take over.
We were early so sat at the bar. If you are in the mood for a hand crafted cocktail, they have you covered.
I didn’t catch names(but every single person made me feel like a valued guest) as it seems to be a team effort but each member was great. They so welcoming and explained everything on the table/bar perfectly.
We had a bottle of Tempranillo and ate the hangar steak, grilled cauliflower and crab tapas that were amazing. We had room for more so tried the seafood paella. Everything was perfect. The presentation and colors were so amazing. And the flavors were some of the best I’ve had.
We then took one more after dinner cocktail onto the patio and wrapped up a perfect night.
My only regret about El Five is not getting here sooner.
Always an amazing experience at El Five. The food is delicious. Hands down, one of the most unique, creative and versatile menus!! The service is just as exceptional. I highly recommend El Five !!
Wonderful flavors combine in interesting dishes. Served in a beautiful setting with fantastic views!!
What a find! Don’t miss the eggplant fries and goat cheese croquettes. The steak was perfectly prepared. The cauliflower small dish was tasty and unique. Id skip the Turkish tiramisu and have the flan next time. We have to go back. There are too many things we still want to try.
Food was amazing and you can't beat the view! The only thing that was a little weird was the table to the left of us had a birthday and the table to the right had a graduation. We wrapped up eating at the same time and they both got free deserts brought to them where we did not even though we were celebrating a 1 year anniversary. It wasn't that big of a deal because the food was fantastic and is mostly what I care about, but thought it was a little odd. Hope this feedback helps!
Great place, great views, excellent service and food. We ordered many Mezzes and tapas. Everything was excellent, the only "good" dish instead of being excellent was the "shrimp and calamari a la plancha".
A bit overpriced, but really worthy.
El Five is a must hit for anyone. Try to sit on the city side so you have an epic view of Denver. The food and drinks will not disappoint and I highly recommend the Carne paella. My favorite thing on the menu for sure! Also be sure to try and get a reservation when possible. They fill up really fast these days.
Birthday dinner. Treated well. Had lots of very good food.
Absolutely one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.
Food is marginal at best but the service is excellent.
Fantastic food. Great flavors and ingredients with nice presentation
The tables were a little to close together and it was hard to sit due to the metal arm rest on the chair, due to others sitting with their chairs pushed all the way against the chairs behind them. Just a little tight.
