About this restaurant

  • Romantic
  • Great for scenic views
  • Good for special occasions
With the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, El Farallon sits like a raw jewel at the edge of the world, refined yet wild. As the waves crash, you hear the hum of the open-air kitchen as our Chef expertly prepares the fisherman’s catch of the day. The warm night invites you in as you sit tucked amongst ancient rock, carved into the cliff. Dramatic and unforgettable, our sea-to-table menu is Cabo San Lucas’ most celebrated dining experience.

The restaurant is beautiful and the service was attentive. Unfortunately the food was mediocre. I ordered the sea bass which was good but the entree items are pricy because they included soup, appetizers and dessert. They didn’t offer options to select, instead it was chefs choice. Neither the soup nor the appetizer were very good.

Amazing view; great service; just wish the menu was Alacarte; they offer a multi-course menu; many of the items we didn't care for but overall highly recommend

Reservation was for 7pm, but then they we were forced to sit at the Champagne Terrace, and presented with a poster size menu of various Champagnes as our table was not ready. So we ordered two glasses and waited. This normally would not be a big deal, but the whole point of going at 7 PM was for the incredible view and we wanted to see it before the sunset. Although we were seated at 7:20 PM, that pivotal 20 min. difference left us with a view of complete darkness and mediocre to bad food. The CHILLED King Crab appetizer ($75 for 4oz) arrived HOT and saturated in oil, paprika, and other spices. My first instinct was to send it back to request the chilled version which is what we ordered, but we thought perhaps this was the chef’s special preparation. Upon tasting the King Crab it was clear why they drowned in in oil and spices because it was the worst King Crab I ever tasted as though it was found on the floor of a fishing boat that had been out to sea for a month. I mentioned this to the waiter and I honestly thought the chef would say it was a one-off and then serve us fresh chilled King Crab, but none existed, so they just removed the charge from the bill. Before arriving at the restaurant, I had low expectations for what I would actually get compared to what I ordered, so I reviewed the Open Table food photos and took 2 to 3 screenshots to show the waiter exactly what we wanted. First was a 16 oz lobster tail. His response was we don’t have it in the shell and they’re significantly smaller, like 12 oz or a little less but he wasn’t really sure even after going back to the kitchen and checking. My wife ordered the double lobster tail ($105) and I had the 12 oz filet with 1 lobster tail add on ($210). The lobster tail arrived 6 oz each and were lukewarm when we were told they would be grilled (hot). The lobster was mealy and the filet was cold. If you must go, arrive early for the view, and bring low expectations for the food.

It was FREEZING!!!!!! the view was incredible, which is what you are paying $$$$$ for as the food is just mediocre at best. Save your money - there are so many better food options in Cabo.
