Great restaurant and service. We eat here every year when we visit Sonoma.
We went here for our anniversary. Once we were seated, they greeted us with champagne. We got the Gnoochi & Scallops for an appetizer, which were fantastic. For our dinner we had the Paella, full of fresh fish, shrimp, muscles, claims and scallops. There wasn't bite that went missed! The outdoor patio was beautiful with heaters at every table should you get cold. Highly recommend visiting for dinner.
I love this restaurant for dinner, but lunch always leaves me a little disappointed. I would like to see a few more offerings for lunch. The salads are skimpy. My seared tuna was a very bland dish. I have had this experience several times. I think they could do a much better job for lunch.
I usually have a good experience at the restaurant, but, for whatever reason, things seemed a bit "off" during our last dinner. There were at least four instances where a waiter/waitress (other than our own) came up to us to deliver someone else's drinks or food.
Friendly and attentive staff and super yummy food. Our party of three shared three appetizers (fried green tomatoes, burrata, street corn) and one main (paella). We were stuffed! It was all great. Happy we were able to get a table without a reservation after a day of driving and wine tasting.
Love Love Love the salmon- cooked perfectly and a wonderful sauce and veggies. Never disappoints!
Incredible! We visited for our honeymoon and loved every bite!
Wonderful food great people and a great setting
Great food and service! Outside dining was perfect.
I always enjoy eating at El Dorado Kitchen. Their Sunday Brunch is absolutely fantastic!
One of the best meals we've had in a long, long time. So flavorful! This place is a jewel. A great way to spend an anniversary dinner with my love.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Starters are always interesting and stunningly delicious. The entrees are perfectly prepared and incredibly flavorful without being precious. Desserts...sublime. In Sonoma a restaurant has to know their wines and pairings and they do so with great ease. Love the relaxed atmosphere. You can be fancy or not. Great place, attentive, informed, friendly service.
The handed us a menu that had the words 'happy anniversary' printed for us, because we were celebrating. Wish that our celebration came in the form of a cocktail or glass of wine.
The restaurant seemed unprepared and/or understaffed for the lunch rush. Our server did the best he could but mixed up our drink order and our drinks arrived after our appetizer. Bit of a bummer for our birthday lunch, but not the end of the world
Sat us in full sun and then would not adjust umbrellas. Service started out okay and went downhill. Very disappointed!
Disappointed you could not sit outside. Issue should have been addressed on the same call as the confirmation.
For a restaurant in wine country the food was very disappointing. The hash dish on the lunch menu was horrible. We will not return or recommend.
Go to favorite - unusually quiet before July 4th holiday. Food was fresh and delicious, though steak was slightly overcooked. A consistent and wonderful experience.
Overall the the food and atmosphere was great; need to be more careful when serving crab dish; shell found throughout the dish and thus ruined the experienced. Will visit again however.
Our server, Ulises, demonstrated the same excellent service we have come to expect at El Dorado.
This was our first brunch experience - the menu was varied and met our 3 different choices for breakfast or lunch entrees
This was a really great dinner. We sat on the patio, and the weather was perfect. The ambience is very nice.
Our server, Michael Schwartz, was the best. He is pleasant, funny, smart, knowledgeable, and made the dinner all the more enjoyable.
We were unusual, in starting with the truffle oil french fries for a shared appetizer. It's difficult to make a french fry stand above all the rest, but our table agreed these were the best ever! That says a lot. The perfect size, the perfect taste, and cooked just right.
For main courses, we had the
Seafood Paella, the Petaluma Chicken, the Salmon, and the Organic salad with Lobster tail added.
All four dishes were judged to be exceptional and delicious. I want to give a special compliment to the Paella, since that is not a common dish, and this one was as good as I've ever had.
Another call-out to the chicken, as it was moist and tasty, and sat on top of a vegetable puree/melange that was especially delicious.
All in all, these were really special dishes, in a wonderful patio environment, with superb service by Michael. Highly recommended!
Our server, Joellen, added such a positive element to our lunch; she instinctively knows how to balance warm, personal attention with professionalism.
I have another lunch meeting coming up and have requested she be our server if possible!
Amazing food. And service was excellent as well! I'd recommend to anyone that enjoys great food!
My husband and I booked reservations here for the night we were in Sonoma. It was hands down fantastic! Everything about it!
My mother and I drove from the Bay Area to Sonoma for the day without a lunch reservation. Upon the recommendation of a local wine tasting room manager, we booked a last minute table at El Dorado Kitchen for Sunday Lunch. We were graciously greeted by the hostess, who advised us of a short wait if we preferred a patio table. We opted to enjoy a glass of wine at the bar so we could dine al fresco under an umbrella on the lovely, sunny patio. We were very pleased with the professional and friendly service from all staff, who made us feel relaxed and comfortable. The food was fresh, flavorful, and visually appealing. A highlight was the Seared Ahi Salad - perfectly rare, with mango, goat cheese, and other colorful delights. We will happily add this to our list of favorites eateries.
The chef should know not to refrigerate tomatoes. If they are not the freshest, take the tomato salad off the menu and make pasta instead. Simple. But you need to care about the food you are serving.
Great food and atmosphere
Lovely Sunday Brunch to celebrate a friend's Birthday. Service by Matt was superb and so were the food items we chose. Will definitely return.
Menu looked great but the actual meals were uninspiring.
I am a local. Great place but the wine list prices are exorbitant. You can buy a bottle of rose at Sonoma Market for $2
more than a GLASS at EDK. THE CHEAPEST RED WINE STARTS AT$51.
Do the math to define their very high markup. Shouldn't have to spend $75-95+ for a bottle. Cheaper options should be given. Lot of other places in town!
Also, major noise level.
Good food, very noisy, the waitstaff were efficient and friendly, I would rate the food above average but not excellent.
If the weather allows would definitely eat outside where I assume it would not be as hectic and noisy!
it was over 90 the night we were there and outside would have been too hot!
Overall would give four stars and would return but not a five star restaurant!
What a fantastic night! Colin was our waiter and he made our night very special by doing an outstanding job - personable and efficient. Our group enjoyed the mussels, mushrooms and ahi tuna appetizers and all were excellent. Entrees were paella, carbonara and short rib risotto. Once again all were excellent. Food and service couldn’t be better. Colin even suggested amazing cocktails to start the evening. Can’t wait to go back.
We have been here quite a few times, we like it. They were having an off night. Also it was blazing hot.
The ahi appetizer was fantastic.
The paella was not very good or creative.
The waitress Kay was very pleasant and professional.
I always enjoy EDK and tell everyone it’s great and consistent. Yesterday the drink I usually order was different. Too limey and sweet. Also a short pour The seared ahi salad was a disappointment compared the the Nicoise that they used to serve. My own fault I assumed when I saw seared tuna on the menu it was the same instead it was mango and chips and a sweet vinegarertte. Unfortunate choice. The other is a full meal one can’t stop eating. This was easy to put the fork down.
We find the wine prices are exorbitant.
Always a great go to for a Martini Lunch. Thanks again!
Father’s Day. Waited for 40 plus minutes for our first drink. Party of 5.
Great food and drinks, only down side was the amount of time to get drinks... but if you aren’t in a hurry definitely worth it!
