El Dorado Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
They served cold bread and nearly frozen butter, which instantly makes me feel like I'm at a three star restaurant.
The trumpet mushroom dish was great, but the Paella was bland and unimpressive
Overall I was hoping for a more impressive menu and better execution. Not a bad spot, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here.
Lovely meal and service by Kay - while I was not pleased with the filet (just an unusual cut) the flavor was good, beautiful presentation and vegetables, and handled beautifully. We never felt rushed and we enjoyed the Gary Farrell Pinot Noir. My partner loved his Paella, the oyster appetizers were divine and dessert of homemade ice cream.
Service was impeccable! We were celebrating our 12 year anniversary and they printed special menus wishing us a happy anniversary and provided complimentary champagne. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. It's got a romantic feel without being too ostentatious.
Exceptional restaurant beautiful venue excellent food. One of the most well-rounded restaurants we’ve experienced in sometime.
Oysters on the half shell
Unbelievable experience and unbelievable food kudos to the chef
The food was amazing but the service was the worst that we have ever experienced. The wait staff greeted us immediately but then then spent the next 15 minutes hanging out at the computer with another wait staff who appeared to be in training. When they arrived back, she sarcastically stated looks like you guys are ready to order. We should have walked out then but kept hoping that the experience would recover. There was a glimmer of hope when our salad and appetizer arrived in a reasonable time but it went downhill after that. My husband ordered a glass of wine when they cleared our plates from our first course. Despite being promised it was on its way while refilling our water, the wine arrived after our main course. The main course was delivered 30 minutes after our first course plates were cleared. We watched the table next to ask for their check and always looking for staff. That should have been our first hint to leave. By the way, the bar staff was fantastic. My drink was ready by the time I finished my garnish request !
Celebrated my birthday but OMG! They served me a spoiled seafood platter and I had to take my wife to a hospital! It's been 2 days but I have NOT heard from GM nor the manager to check condition on my wife......4+ star is definitely over-rated. Visitors be aware!!
Food is consistently good. Service has seen a real decline lately. One bad trend is the number of VERY large parties (wedding parties maybe?) that are loud and often there are several of them at dinner. The restaurant is already loud but these boisterous parties push it way over the edge. It doesn't help that the open kitchen and wait staff don't make any effort to keep their noise level down either. EDK has always been my go-to restaurant in Sonoma, but unless something changes for the better, I'm going elsewhere.
Food was great but the hostess was really tough to work with -- she was not very interested in our business and made no extra effort to help coordinate our reservation, party or table. I can't say we felt overly welcome -- but setting and food are always nice.
We are SF foodies and this place has never disappointed us.And always a risotto on the menu, & its not an Italian restaurant. The outside looks plain and not so cordial, there's even a corner dining room which is rarely used and looks dismal and empty as you view the place from the street. Don't let this stop you,its a whole different place inside and there's outdoor seating as well.Really a class act, they just need to use that front room!
