Food was very good but the wine list ran to the expensive side.
Always a lovely time at edk!
We love El Dorado Kitchen for lunch, but haven't been to dinner. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary and were with our cousins who were celebrating there 40th anniversary. A great meal and a great evening!
Food was very nice. Our waiter, Duff, was great. The best were the appetizers - ceviche, Thai shrimp, buratta. Very nice portions for appetizers which is great to share with the whole table. The only downside was that it got quite loud when it was busy. It made conversations less comfortable. We did not try the desserts but I bet they were good.
Gazpacho was terrible! Egg white omelette was terrific!
A very nice experience with reliable service and great food.
I've eaten here about 25 times, always super! Pun intended.
Giorgio made our night so special!! Outstanding service:-)
The fish I had, had no seasoning. And was over ran by the sauce underneath the fish
Located within the Sonoma Plaza . . . they offer great food, upbeat ambience/vibe and great service. EDK offers a wide variety of food options with a full bar . . . and outdoor seating is a plus this time of year.
This restaurant has been up and down over the years . . . and they are currently up !!!
Note: before or after your dining experience ( just off the Plaza) is “SIGH” . . . a very fun contemporary Champagne/sparkling wine bar (open late) . . . they also offer a couple of beers & wines as well . . . Go Celebrate Life (wink)
Exquisite food, Service and attention to detail. I was delighted.
We were very happy with our dinner at EDK. Great service (thank you, Rosie), yummy truffle fries, burratta, salmon, crab cake and more. All delicious and fresh. Nice ambiance on the patio.
The dining room rustic, yet comfortable and well appointed. The patio is wonderful. Cappuccino was perfecto! Ceasar salad was very good! Truffle fries, excellent ! And the lemon pudding cake, with bananas, black sesame ice cream and a hard candy shell (much like creme brûlée) - to die for!
The noise level was extremely uncomfortable and detracted from the exceptional yet high priced food. We felt rushed to finish courses in order to open table. Thankfulness enveloped our lives when we stepped outside from chaos and noise.
Went to El Dorado Kitchen for a very special birthday dinner with my twin sister. The host was very nice and accommodating. We sat in the courtyard area which was beautiful and equipped with heaters for later in the evening. We shared the salmon and risotto ordered from our Happy Birthday menu! It was delicious! Our waiter was very attentive. It was a lovely evening!
Food was over cooked and service was not very good. Overall not a great experience.

Celebrated our last day in Sonoma with breakfast here. Great service, fabulous food.
Excellent food, great choices, nice wine, friendly service in beautiful surroundings - I would go back again!
EDK has really upped their game . . . great food, full bar, open kitchen . . . indoor/outdoor seating . . . fun & upbeat . . . with great service.
The Mole Chicken (pictured here) is crisp on the outside and extremely moist on the inside.
The pasta carbonara was perfect - the best we've ever had, and we're huge food snobs.
A fun date-night. It started off on a high when we saw that my favorite wine (Gloria Ferrer) and truffle fries were on the menu. Then the servers recommendations were exquisite (Lobster Stir Fry and Lobster gnocchi). Finally, the tapioca dessert rounded off the meal perfectly. The ambience, weather and service made it a perfect evening out.
They have really upped their game here . . . we had a wonderful meal . . . and great service !!!
Always good fresh and delicious. My goto place in Sonoma. It's also not over priced. Service is excellent and so are the cocktails.
Love El Dorado. Always great food, service and a lively, but not overly loud, atmosphere.
Best times service I’ve ever had. Would go back in a second. Good was awesome.
I don't know where to start. The dish I ordered was listed on the menu as Feuttuccine Carbonara. It didn't resemble or taste like the original, which I'v been making for forty years. It was tasteless, the past was not cooked all the way through and it was speckled with dark tiny pieces off food that was impossible to identify. And it didn't contain the most important ingredient--pancetta. One of the guests ordered Mussels as a main course. When they arrived they were the appetizer size. About a dozen mussels. There was a unforgivable mix up with the desserts that caused consternation and dissatisfaction. We have been dined and lunched at EDK since it began. But not anymore. By the way, I didn't eat much of my meal but my wife took what remained home where a friend tried and said it was awful!
I have been going to El dorado Kitchen for years. And every time I go there, the food and the service never disappoints. My family and I will be returning again and again!!
Love this hotel!!! The restaurant Is a great addition to the adorable hotel. For some reason, the restaurant was not seating out on the patio while we were there – despite perfect weather. The inside was a bit chilly and we had to go grab some extra layers from our room. Other than that, the menu is not extensive but each item we ordered was excellent. Our server was excellent, too. The local vineyard’s GunBun Merlot was also to die for!🍷🍷🍷
EDK is our go-to Local restaurant. We live here in Sonoma. The food is always interesting. The service is fantastic. Always. And friendly , enthusiastic staff. It’s just an inventive, relaxing place for us to come any night of the week, weekday or weekend brunch. Hope to see you here
Great restaurant with spectacular menu options!
Steak was burnt on one side, cooked to medium near the burn, and medium rare elsewhere. The steak was ordered medium rare. I received exactly two very small potatoes, one of which wasn't well-cooked. I received two stalks of asparagus, both of which were undercooked and hard. I could not have been less pleased with my main course.
Our waitperson was fantastic and we really enjoyed our meal. everyone was rally gracious about our 15-minute traffic delay
Love El Dorado. Always great food, atmosphere and service. Had brunch with a visiting out of state friend and the waiter let us really take our time and didn’t hurry us. The ahi tuna tartar was delicious! The mushroom flatbread was also yummy and we shared a fettuccine carbonara which they split for us and gave us each a poached egg on top so no fighting over the egg! Highly recommend.
The special was gnocchi topped with lobster. Our great service said another customer had also ordered cornbread with that dish. That’s what we ordered and the combo was amazing! This is a ‘must go’ dinner location if you’re in Sonoma.
We have dined at El Dorado Kitchen many times! It has been one of our favorites. A Friday afternoon in high season should have been no exception; but it was. Thank goodness for our excellent and responsive server, Duff.
The food and the service was amazing. Loved the patio!!!!!!
Nice place for lunch. We chose El Dorado because it offered a range of foods for our group including vegetarians, pescatarians, and carnivores. Everyone was happy with his or her meal.
The tuna appetizer is exquisite.
Excellent service and dining experience. Love the outdoor patio for dining outdoors.
