El Dorado Kitchen

We usually come here for celebratory lunches. The food is excellent and service is outstanding. There are different spaces for dining including an outdoor patio, main dining room, and two smaller rooms. The noise level depends on where you are seated. As I am somewhat of a picky eater, I appreciate the diversity of the menu and I have never been disappointed in my order. This restaurant has become our "go-to" when we are in Sonoma.
Seated immediately with our reservation time. Prompt courteous service. Food and drink outstanding. Proud to bring my out of town guests -they loved it!
Anniversary dinner, I had requested a nice table and even though they were available we were seated and a two seater small table next to high traffic area by a very loud community seating table. I had the hostess to please keep us clear of the that area because you can hear the people all the way at the entry to the restaurant.
The food is always good at this place and the servers very kind and attentive.
Great atmosphere, service and food. Truffle fries was to die for!
Really enjoyable restaurant. Will plan to come back the next time I am in Sonoma.
Our favorite place on or around the Square in Sonoma. Really nice ambiance, friendly and efficient service, and good food.
We got there every time we are in Sonoma.
We used to really like going to this restaurant and always thought the food was good. On this recent visit, we thought all three main courses were of poor quality. The pork was tough, the lamb chops were fatty, and all three dishes were simply not tasty at all. Disappointing.
Love this place. Have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal and the service is always impeccable. Would definitely recommend El Dorado Kitchen to everyone who appreciates great food and great service.
First we were seated, more like sandwiched into a table between other dinners. This was especially annoying since there were several available tables that would have been more suitable. Our waiter, while nice, was not attentive. The food was most disappointing. All 4 dishes lacked depth and flavor. Not a fan of paying $30+ per plate for bland food. Unfortunately this was not the Sonoma culinary experience we were looking for.
Always an excellent experience. Usually rate the service 5 star but it was a little less this time. I go to this restaurant often.
Excellent meal. We sat outside on a beautiful Sonoma Day! Highly recommend!
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had and the appetizers were inventive and delicious.
Great restaurant right on Sonoma Square. The menu is not huge, but we found a few really delicious items. The tuna was wonderful as was the Mexican corn dish. The paella was decent. My husband loved the truffle fries. Nice craft cocktails.
When we have visitors, we like to take them to the Sonoma Square area and dine here. It has been a pleasure dining there for many years.
We always have a fabulous lunch here! The food is outstanding. This time we tried the ceviche, which was delicious and huge, salmon (perfectly crispy), and roasted chicken breast over salad (yum!). Highly recommend reservation to make sure you can get an outdoor spot.
Awesome way to celebrate our 30th Anniversary
Perfect place to have a gourmet lunch on a lovely outdoor patio
This restaurant, on the corner of the Square in Sonoma, is a cool and comfortable refuge from the heat of a summer day. Dark wood floors and white walls. Lovely shaded patio for outdoor dining. It just has a groovy, calm atmosphere. Great attentive service and a lunch menu with lots of great choices, large, and small. Nice wine list.
Greeted by a friendly staff and received great service. Loved the menu--hard to choose from so many tasty options.
Visiting with friends, we did not feel rushed and could comfortably converse without 'shouting'.
Nice ambiance and will definitely go back to try some of the others dishes.
We were sat at a table in the sun. The seafood paella was dry. The only really good thing was the truffle fries. The other diners were very loud. We would not go back.
I live locally in Sonoma and haven't visited El Dorado Kitchen (EDK to the locals) in quite a while. I plan to change that! Everything was excellent. I especially loved the Salmon and Flatbread combination. We were there an noon-time and I was tempted by so many menu options I am committed to returning to get through more of the menu. I don't think that you can go too far wrong! Service was vert attentive as well and the noise level was pleasant for a quiet lunch time visit.
It was fantastic!
We had a delicious lunch and our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. Great lunch experience.
The food and service were lovely. There were just a couple of catches. First, two in our party ordered the paella. One gentleman had 5-6 scallops; the other gentleman had just 1. The other catch - we had to have empty dishes in front of us for quite a bit of time.
Fabulous food, great service and beautiful, well appointed environment! Loved the cold corn soup and The Parmesan-topped fries, along with an amazing beet salad! Will definitely return, and would highly recommend this lovely establishment to those with discerning palates who plan to visit Sonoma !
I have been a customer for years and obviously have returned on a number of occasions. I could always depend on a consistently pleasant experience. Father’s Day was extremely disappointing experience. From the time we were seated until someone showed up to ask if we would like a beverage or anything it was 10 minutes. From that point to when we got our actual ordered filled it was 45 minutes and that was after my inquiring as to the delay. The food was not hot and the delay just unacceptable. The explanation offered was that the restaurant was full. That didn’t account for the fact that the person next to us with a different waiter came in 15 minutes after we did had their lunch well before we did. This is just unacceptable!
Fantastic Service!!! Two of the three of my family members have food allergies the server and the kitchen were so accommodating and went out of their way to make our meal special and yummy.
The food is very good and setting in Sonoma is lovely.
Food was excellent especially the waygu beed carpaccio salad
We are neighbors and eat here often. Usually the service is excellent, that night pretty poor. Restaurant was packed, but server inattentive. Perhaps too thinly stretched. Kitchen was backed up, service slow, cold appetizer forgotten, no extra cheese offered with pasta, etc...disappointing & spoiled the mood...
Loved this meal!!!
Loved the ambiance and open kitchen concept. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious - one of the best meals we had on this trip to California. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve had outside of Charleston. Crab cakes in the crab cake Benedict were generous size and very tasty.
Our food and service was amazing !
Everything was excellent!
Form the moment we arrived the staff made us feel special on our 25th anniversary. Food was amazing.
Sat on the patio, service and food were excellent!
It was great!
Daniel was our server and he was so personable with us and really made our first visit to El Dorado Kitchen a memorable time. He offered to show me how to properly taste champagne upon opening it and really took the time to make our visit wonderful.
We have eaten here before (always for lunch) & it is always enjoyable. This time we sat outside & enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Everyone enjoyed their meal - our party of 4 had the daily soup (corn chowder), Housemade Gnocchi, Burger & Salad. We also had some nice wines from their varied list. We will be back when in the area.
Excellent food great service price reasonable. Backyard dining a delight. Would definitely recommend
