Great food and ambiance and sticky buns
Always a good time at El Chorro!!!!
Great good with a beautiful environment
Wonderful dinner on the patio with good friends. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious.
Amazing! Outstanding atmosphere, beautiful views, incredible food. Would absolutely come back!
Great food and atmosphere
The hostess didn’t know that it was a special occasion even though we wrote it down as we made the reservation AND we called two days in advance to ask that they would make it extra special. It was disappointing.
Once we sat down, everything was lovely.
El Chorro is amazing for all occasions. Date night, sisters brunch, friends brunch, special occasions and even bridal and baby showers.
Awesome!! Nothing more to say! Definitely recommend!
Everyone made our birthday dinner exceptional. The patio was perfect and while our reservation was kept waiting the service was excellent.
Everything was great. Handled food allergies like a pro!
Beautiful evening matched by the meal and service; wish I could afford to eat there more often.
The noise level was high. Anyone with a hearing impairment would have difficulty.
Great place for a birthday celebration. Great location and ambiance. Our server was very accommodating.
Live in Bellevue, WA. This restaurant has been a favorite of my family for 30 years. We never miss the opportunity to go to El Chorro when we are in the Scottsdale. Made reservations for a family member as this was a very special trip this week. They loved everything about it.
The service was ok at best, nothing was screwed up, but the waiter did not have the polish one would expect at this price point. The food was good - not great. Lots of options for big steak eating if that is your thing. The Chorro house salad was solid and maybe I should have gone with a signature dish. My shrimp were pretty good, but arrived lukewarm despite being "fire-roasted". You really pay for the view and ambiance - this is what makes it really worth the prices. I will go again and hope the food and service rise to the 5 star level of their patio.
Always the best.
Great food, service and enjoyable setting. Highly recommended. Five Stars*
It was my wife Julia’s birthday and we had a fabulous time. We were thrilled to be seated out on the patio. The service from Andrea was perfect. She was attentive and engaging but didn’t hover. The pace of the dining was great. It’s a happening place but we didn’t feel rushed as though they were trying to turn the tables. The wine list was good....some Cab selections from Paso Robles would have been preferred. The meal was outstanding with really wonderful flavors. We will return and recommend El Chorro to anyone who wants a nice experience with decent fellow patrons.
Had a fabulous meal with friends. Always enjoy dining at El Chorro!
This was our 5th visit. Basically a destination dining experience since we travel 1500 miles to get here. Brought friends for their 30th wedding anniversary. Waitress could not have been worse. Waitress basically abandoned us. Our food order was taken and delivered appropriately. No appetizers were brought. When we inquired, she said since our food was ready they just brought that. Then, poof, she was gone. The gentleman busing our table finally brought us cold appetizer. I asked our man cleaning the table for our check and she did eventually bring that. Because of that experience, it will likely be our last to El Chorro. There are many other fine dining experiences in the area.
There isnt really anything unique about this restaurant. The flavors are predictable, the cocktails were just ok. I felt like I was eating at a hotel banquet with the way the restaurant is decorated. II am at a loss as to why this is a Phoenix favorite, I left this restaurant very underwhelmed.
I really, really missed the purple rice that used to be served with the salmon. As someone that is allergic to cheese, the risotto was not tempting.
But other than that El Chorro is our favorite.
Denise was a wonderful server and food was delicious-loved the short ribs and grapefruit basil smash cocktail. We absolutely love coming to El Chorro, it’s a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service!
Steven was amazing as a server. The ambiance was breathtaking and this time of year (April) it was perfect for the outdoor dining. Highly recommend the cheese plate for larger parties!
Simply fantastic! Berry happy to have found our new favorite hidden gem!
Great as usual
First I had missed my reservation time and they called me and were able to get us another reservation that evening. We sat outside and had views of the mountains. Mike, our waiter was very patient with us as we had 3 kids in our party. He made suggestions and recommendations that turned out to be great. We had an outstanding meal and were never rushed to eat and go. This was one of the best dinners we had while visiting Phoenix.
Perfect spot for date night. Arrive early, sit on the patio, and enjoy the sunset. Food is awesome and service is perfect. Bring your camera as you’ll want to take pictures of the beautiful gardens.
great, good service and great food and wine. we recommend
This is our favorite go to restaurant when we are staying at the J.W. Marriott which is next door. The food was excellent and they have a large outdoor seating area. I would recommend it to anyone staying the Scottsdale area.
Simply amazing across the board! Food, service and ambience all top notch!! Visiting Scottsdale and went here based on a recommendation. So glad we went and will be back for sure.
The shrimp dish was excellent, salads were fresh and colorful, and the sticky buns, which come with the meal, were to die for!
El Chorro still has it! Last visit was 10 years ago with my parent, now returned with my own family, and if anything it got better! Steaks were done to perfection and the view of the sunset behind Camelback was still inspiring. Nice job El Chorro!
Julie is a very friendly server, and a pleasure to see!
The place was crowded and the food was only fair for $65 Easter brunch. Vegetables were mushy, some salads were left in warm area not on ice. Too many staff members standing around having long conversations blocking the way around food. Very sad for this historic restaurant.
the best Easter Brunch in Phoenix. Have been going for a few years
Easter Brunch was lovely with great food.
We were there for Easter Brunch. The food is just good enough to merit the location premium in the pricing. It's a beautiful place and that is why we go back each year but it is over-priced and the experience can be irritating. They changed my booking time on me (even though I made it two months in advance) and then repeatedly called to confirm, only to not be ready for us when we arrived, acting surprised that we needed a high chair (which was noted in the booking and in their confirmation of that booking).
