El Chorro Ratings and Reviews
Bone in rib eye not worthy of repeat. Disappointed! Filet excellent. Salads very good. Need real martini glasses. The glasses used for us were closer to beer glasses. Looking forward to returning to try alternatives than the steaks. Diverse menu is interesting.
Everything was lovely until the worm came out of the tomatillo I was attempting to cut into. After that, I lost my appetite. Very embarrassing for my party. My friends had a bad experience at dinner recently. We all agreed that I probably would not have a problem with the Brunch. BOY WERE WE WRONG!!!! In hindsight, I should have taken a picture!
It is our favorite alfresco dining spot in the Phoenix area. Get a reservation just before sunset to enjoy it the most. Our faves include the Shrimp Hot Pot, Sticky Buns, Beef Stroganoff, Pork Tenderloin and Brussels Sprout Salad. Desserts are wonderful too. We highly recommend it.
Have been here many times. This time we were seated in the area off the main dining patio where it appears they handle large groups. It was a secluded area and quite quiet, so we actually enjoyed the privacy and different view. However, it appears to cause our waiter to forget about us at times. Service was slower than typical, so the location was our likely conclusion. It began a little rough as the bar could not make a drink I favor due to having no blackberries or Creme de Mure (really?). Food was great as usual. We had the lobster bites which were outstanding, although quite pricy. Also had the crab and tuna dynamite which was also outstanding. For entrees we had our old reliable, shrimp pepper pot and trout almondine. Both were high quality as always. We were not offered desert, but had plenty to eat so didn’t bother asking to see the menu.
Substandard for what we have experienced previously. Food was average, and some parts such as the buratta salad where the tomatoes were hard, were unedible. The meal temperature was average and the coffee was cool not hot. The waiter appeared disinterested. To be fair we didn’t complain at the time because it was a special occasion except for when the birthday dessert appeared before anyone had ordered dessert and coffee. The waiters response was not helpful and defensive. The champagne that came with the chateuabriand was undrinkable. Generally this experience was not what we have come to expect from El Chorro.
Great outdoor patio, Lindsay took great care of us. Food was really good, salmon dish was amazing, steak was very flavorful and tender. Sticky buns always make the dinner a delight though not sure how healthy they are. Our favorite spot when we visit Phoenix.
We had pretty good service! Did have to look for our waitress a couple of times. We were there to celebrate a birthday. The only problem we had was my steak was medium rare instead of the medium well I had ordered! Just took the rest of it home and cooked it more the next day!
The food, service, scenery and ambiance all come perfectly together at El Chorro to deliver an outstanding dining experience. My wife and I have only enjoyed brunch at El Chorro so far, and the experience has always been excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the overall experience is a very enjoyable, relaxing event.
This was a birthday brunch for my mother and we all enjoyed the meal, service & patio seating. Our guest with dietary restrictions had no trouble finding a selection on the menu that she very much liked. And we never felt rushed as we do in so many restaurants.
Six friends celebrated a milestone birthday dinner on El Chorro's beautiful patio. We met early for happy hour and appetizers. You must sample their flash-fried Twisted Deviled Eggs! Then, we moved to the patio for dinner. The Trout Almondine was our table's favorite for the evening. Service couldn't have been better; it was absolutely wonderful. This is still one of my favorite restaurants!!!
The flash fried lobster tails!!! We had a delightful dinner at El Chorro. The patio seating was pleasant for an intimate dinner. Cocktails were unique...try the snowball...it tastes like vacation. Excellent wine selection. Our waitress was knowledgeable and fun.
Everything was very solid. Great ambiance, good service and a good overall value. I made the mistake of ordering deep fried lobster (very good option at Joe's Stone Crab in Las Vegas). El Chorro did not compare. The other folks were very happy with their entrees.
