An absolute gem of a restaurant. Quail and were some of the best I've had, and Inorder them whenever they are on a menu. Drinks were creative and matched the overall menu very well. Service was top notch as well. A true standout when compared to the run of the mill steakhouses.
Highly recommend, delicious food and incredible service!
Awesome experience all around. The parrillada was outstanding. When the waiter saw that our bone marrow portion was on the smaller side (which we didn’t even notice), he brought out a second one on the house. We started to order entrees for dinner in addition to the parrillada and the waiter told us that we should hold off as we had plenty of food coming. Definitely appreciated and valued the service.
We had the Parradilla - not bad but not great - very overpriced for a few bites of each type of meat. half of the plate was e sausage which is inexpensive meat so why $90/plate? - not worth going...go to Tango Sur; much better for much less....
Fantastic all the way around. My wife and i live in the neighborhood and this is one of our go-to spots!
It was our first time and although the place was very crowded, our reservation was honored, service was outstanding! The food was delicious! The sever let me order something custom at her recommendation and it was sooooo good- the gnocchi with mushroom sauce instead of bolognese. (I know- I was eating veg at a steakhouse- but it was truly delicious.) The fries were amazing as well. Also, it was my partner’s birthday and the server overheard me saying how much we would love to try the rum tres leches cake. She brought it to us with a sparkler. So thoughtful. We will be back for sure!
Tables are too small and steak overpriced for quality/cut. Just like a regular grilled strip steak - nothing particularly unique. Apps were good and service was very good. Probably wouldn’t return.
The empanadas were wonderful and the parrillada was generous and delicious.
The food was surprisingly poor. Had the hanger steak. Told it was a "crowd pleaser." It was VERY tough. Other than the food, the place is really nice.
Steak was amazing!! Loved the fries as well!!
Fantastic service, dining, and experience. Food was absolutely incredible. We went, with hangar steaks, ny strips, the broccoli, and pommme dish. I also recommend the arugula salad.
Broccoli was excellent. Meat was good but not extraordinary. service and ambiance were solid. nice place for a date night.
Okay the broccoli is AMAZING. The steak was amazing. The empanadas were amazing. Seriously everything was so good. Might be my new favorite restaurant in Chicago. Let me know if you need a spokesperson— it can be me.
Great meal - went for Valentine's Day, enjoyed the seating placement. Delicious food, however there was a VDay special on the site that me and my boyfriend were not told about. Would have loved to had that offer. Service was okay, wasn't impressed too much as it didn't seem friendly.
Great time overall, would most likely hit up the bar next time!
Great date night! We had the La Boca and everything was outstanding. In addition, we split the el che steak and roasted garlic potatoes, which were also tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall an enjoyable experience.
One of the best restaurants in Chicago - the strip (medium rare) was to die for. Exceptional service, great atmosphere and a terrific vibe makes El Che a great date night spot. Going back to try happy hour specials next! Cheers to El Che!
Food and service was exceptional. Prices were steep but the quality of the food and cocktails were on par with other steakhouses downtown. We really enjoyed the Broccoli side we very much enjoyed our meal and would return again.
Don’t pay attention to my stars...this is more important. My bf and I had THE. BEST. DINNER. at El Che the other night. And we purposely avoid West Loop restaurants because they are overpriced and the food is meh.
El Che was a fun night, our waitress was adorable, the drinks were liquid delish, and the food was perfect.
We will be back, and thank goodness the West Loop isn’t a total dud. Can’t wait for summer 5:01 cocktails when the sun doesn’t avoid Chicago.
Food was quite delicious. Loved the sauce—definitely stands out from other steak houses. The pomme frites are out of this world. Service was excellent and the ambiance is sexy and inviting, but comfortable for groups of friends, too.
The food here was great! We went for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed everything we had. Our waiter could have been better... it took him awhile to serve us and he did not tell us about the menu what so ever. We had never been and would’ve loved info!
Food was great. Especially steak and gnocchi
Olives, empanadas, steak. Get everything here
This restaurant is in my neighborhood and continues to be an excellent restaurant in every way. I brought a group of colleagues, they all loved it.
Still one of the best restaurants in Chicago.
Great time and enjoyed the food
My wife and I went for restaurant week and we wanted something different so we tried El Che.
Excellent place to dine. Mood and atmosphere was a good balance between energetic and cozy.
The ENTIRE staff (from the parking attendant, to the waitstaff, to the managers) went out of there way to make us feel warm and welcomed. The food was delicious! The Locro (pork squash and topped with crumbed chicharon) was great. The beef bone marrow was delicious and, our steaks were outstanding! I definitely we be back at El Che for MORE!
We were a party of 5 with an 8:30pm reservation. The restaurant was busy so we weren’t sat until 9. The hostess was kind and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne or Prosecco. By the time we sat and had our order taken, we got our food around 10pm. The food had a very good flavor but wasn’t as warm as it should have been... it may have sat for a while before it was brought to our table. Lots of potential but overshadowed by the long wait.
Visited for Restaurant Week. Solid place, pricey for decent food. Shrimp was the delish, everything else on the fixed menu wasn’t impressive.
Food was very rushed; 4 course meal in 40 mins. Ridiculous.
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious simply tasty food and drinks
We went for my son’s birthday dinner. It was also RW and we all had the pre fixe dinner which was delicious. We would definitely go back!
This is my favorite restaurant in the West Loop. Where have I been all this time? The restaurant is not one of the neighborhood"s newbies, but it is definitely one of the best. I went with 3 others for Restaurant Week and was so impressed with the food, ambiance and service. I absolutely loved the complimentary offering of olives and fennel, the delicious bread with grilled cheese. Few restaurants make this small gesture anymore.
As far as my Restaurant Week dinners have gone, El Che takes the prize for generous servings in every course. I had the arugula salad, the shrimp and the salmon. Each dish was well seasoned, full of flavor, and presented well on the plate. The wine offering has something for everyone.
I would love to know who the interior designer was for this classy eatery. The lighting, furniture, fixtures are all very inspiring.
Big fan of the chef. He always lives up to the expectation. Nice ambiance. My only critique is the receptionist didn’t offer to take our coats. It was a bit challenging to hang my big puffy coat on the high table chairs. But other than that.. we had such a great time!
We were very satisfied El Che. We will go back for sure !! Food was great the , the atmosphere was
great......like the no -headache Valet parking !!!!
Delicious food! Decent deal for restaurant week. Really enjoyed the experience!
We went for Restaurant week, and every course was delicious. We will definitely be going back again!
The salad need more dressing and the dish could have been brought together.
