El Camino Mexican Soul Food - Mezcal & Tequila Bar - Fort Lauderdale
We are committed to offering the freshest organic and local ingredients where possible, and we value local, artisan, indigenous and reclaimed offerings. We are even taking the not so typical step of making our own tortillas, sauces, and anything else possible from scratch. The list of craft cocktails is truly Mexican and includes house made sangritas, a curated selection of agave spirits, a diverse selection of craft and Mexican beers. In the end, it is all about sharing the food with the community of people who enjoy it. Viva México!
The service was on point. We got seated very quickly. Our waiter Patrick was very attentive to our needs and was very personable. The food was mediocre. My girlfriend got really sick after. We thought it was just something that didn’t sit right with her until we received a phone call from the restaurant the next day. Which is really nice if it was just to ask how our dining experience really was but because her getting sick, seemed really suspicious. We won’t be back but I wouldn’t discourage anyone from going. From what it seemed, people really enjoyed the happy hour. The bar was packed. Just not for us.
Loved this place. The option to mix and match on the taco choices was great! The prices are very reasonable and the space is very fun, open and perfect even on a busy evening.
It was a bit noisy but that is definitely intentional and part of the atmosphere. El Camino was recommended to us by an Uber driver the night prior and we were extremely happy to have made a reservation as spring break was in full swing. Fun night and a bonus is happened to be ‘Taco Tuesday’.
The food is always amazing along with the service.
Good food but prefer food at a couple of other Mexican restaurants more. Service was good, ambience was just okay. Very loud and hard to have a discussion.
Great food, but too loud.
We had enjoyed lunch here a few weeks ago and decided to bring friends and have dinner and drinks. No bueno! Our reservation wasn’t honored and we waited an additional hour or so, mgr comped us with some chips, salsa and guacamole. Great guacamole by the way, dinner was meh. Not worth the aggravation, noise level or crowds. Go for lunch but avoid the busy dinner and drinking hours.
Loved it everything from service to food to drinks and ambiance will easily be back.
Good Service & Great Atmosphere
Food was ok
Gil Mgr was Great !!
Great place, good food, great service. Only downside very loud and acoustics were bad, could not hear the person I was with yet alone the waitress
Always great, amazing selection of tequila, fast service and delicious food.
We had friends visiting from Denver and they wanted to eat Mexican food. Denver is well known for excellent restaurants. We told them that our favorite is the El Camino. They were not disappointed. The food is so fresh and the presentation is very appealing. We all had a different dish, but all of us agreed that this was by far the best Mexican food we have tasted. Our friend had a Margarita which was prepared with fresh lemon juice instead of those pre- mixes used in other restaurants. My husband and I had Mexican beer. Our server Santiago was very pleasant and efficient. Another nice touch is that one of the managers came by our table to check if everything was OK. It's nice to know that the management cares.
I went twice within one week! The margaritas were delicious and the food was so so yummy! Everything was moderately priced and 10/10 would recommend! It was a hopping place! A very loud and fun place! Perfect for party people!
Love El Camino!!! Always a great time and always amazing service and food!!!
Decibel level averaged 87.6 during our meal. Absolutely uncomfortable.
Between the extremely loud music and poor quality food, this place is not worth it. Had the chicken fajitas and veggies were mushy from being over cooked, chicken had fat and grissle. They increased the music level half way through our meal and you could not hear yourself talk, and we were outside! Inside the restaurant it was deafening. There are so many better restaurants to choose from, this one is off the list.
Fun high energy bistro. Great value for $2 Taco Tuesdays. Expect LONG waits, and it is VERY NOISY, but very good food and service and worth the wait!
Was great. They made us wait a bit for our table but we were fine. Love Tuesdays there!
Food and service was amazing!!!! Love taco Tuesday and the s'mores empanada.
We were seated upon our on time arrival. We chose outside seating. Our waiter greeted us almost immediately. He poured water immediately and told us it was happy hour. We ordered margaritas and they came to us along with the appetizer that we ordered in a very timely manner. The vibe was great, the food and drinks were very enjoyable.
My daughters birthday dinner. I ordered the special fish (Market fish) supposed to be mahi mahi. A mistake was made and it was a whole fish pompano with loads of bones. My party ate their dinner and my correct dinner took forever to prepare. The table was clear and still no dinner. I finally decided to take it home. The manager did offer his sincere apology and took it off the bill and offered a free dessert. I’m the type of diner that just wants great service and food. I’m not looking for the free meal. Also, the waitress kept wiping our table while we were eating with a disgusting dirty smelly rag. We finally had to tell her to stop. Restaurant was way way to LOUD! Likely will not done there again.
Great food at great price! Only complaint is the noise level. I would choose a table outside next time.
Our first experience with the restaurant.
Delicious food, lots of fun.
The acoustics are loud.
We have been to this restaurant both times we were in Fort Lauderdale. Both times the food was excellent and the service too. We have had chicken fajitas and cheese quesadilla on our visits. Both excellent. I do wish there was rice and beans served with it for the price. That is why I gave it a 3 on the value.
La comida excelente, la atención y buen ambiente.
Good Times great tequila and great tacos and great prices what more could you ask for
Had a table in bar area, not a attention spot to say the least but waitress was very nice and apologetic
Great experience. Good food, good service. Fun time.
Outstanding service the food was delicious. Fresh food guacamole was delicious as were the homemade salsas!
Fun popular Mexican bistro on Las Olas. Extremely crowded on $2 tacos Tuesdays. Expect to wait at least an hour for a table. Large and very airy with high ceilings. Great menu with amazing taco options and craft beers and tequilas. Very noisy.
Have been here several times and the food and service is amazing. It is a bit loud. We usually go before 5:30, this time we couldn't get in until 6:30 and waited over an hour for our food. Usually it's very quick but always busy definitely make reservations.
Best taco Tuesday!
Good spot for a fun casual business lunch. Food came on time and was in / out in less than an hour which is perfect if you need to be back within an hour locally.
Perfect for margaritas and tacos, drinks and food amazing, outdoor seating. Great music
Great food for a great price! The wait can sometimes be quite long, but make sure to make a reservation and you will be seated in no time :)
Made a reservation for a table of 8 two days in advance. Got there, and the table was not ready, we had to wait almost 1hour and a half to be sited. Very unorganized reservation system and the waitress and manager just kept saying there’s nothing they can do and to keep waiting. The food was over seasoned, pure SALT as if the bottle broke over the food!!! We finished all 4 pitchers of water because of it. The happy hour prices are okay but will never go back for food or reservations, much better places out there.
Took me three times to get a table. Wery busy place but worth of every penny. Exellent food. Excellent Mojito. Excellent Value! Super staff!
I went to El Camino on a Saturday night with a group of 4 women for my aunt's birthday. We arrived a little early with the intention of trying a tequila flight, but the bar was a little too packed for that experience. We did manage to get beer, margaritas and happy hour appetizers within 20 minutes or so. We were seated at the time of our reservation and were very pleased with all of the food we ordered. If you decide to get dessert, try the coconut tres leches -- it was quite amazing.
This was our first visit to El Camino. The service we had was outstanding. The food was delicious. Our only complaint was the noise level. It was so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation with anyone. I would recommend the restaurant to friends but would make them aware of the noise level.
