All a la Carte Tacos
Fajitas a las Brasas
served with peppers, charro beans, rice, crema, pico de gallo, guacamole, corn/flour tortillas
The service was slow but expected in the current environment. The food was amazing and loved the different drink options!
not enough servers. took forever. food came out cold & zero customer service engagement from server
Food was really good! Corn tortillas made fresh! The issue was the lack of wait staff. Our waiter was friendly, but he was the only one tending to patrons in the main room. There was another waiter for outside. Honestly, that was the only issue, they are so understaffed (like many restaurants) that it made the visit a little unfortunate.
Sadly there are better Mexican food places to eat in Dallas.
Wonderful food and excellent margaritas!
We really like El Bolero and made the 30 min drive to spend Father’s Day there…. we were quite disappointed. Service was slow which we can understand especially right now, but my MIL ordered fish tacos and they brought brisket…we sent them back and she had to wait 20 min to get her correct order….she packed them to go bc we were all already finished. At no point did a manager come by and apologize and we were charged for the tacos. Quite unbelievable.
I was sorely disappointed in my most recent experience. First, the hostess was very distracted and not very friendly. She would leave for 5 min at a time leaving a large line of people waiting. Everyone has an off day.
However, we went on Friday specifically for the $15 lobster fajitas. I asked our waiter to confirm that was the still the special and he agreed. When I got my billed, it was full price fajitas, when questioned he said it was still a special but the fajitas were full price and you get a half price margarita. It was definitely a bait and switch. The food came out at different times, overall very unorganized and not sure I will go back.
Loved their menu. The scallops with lobster rice was over the top yummy!
Food was very good! Restaurant was a bit noisy.
Enjoy the food and atmosphere. Lobster tacos are the BEST! Really great to eat outside (when the weather cooperates)!
Amazing food, great atmosphere, overall great place.
Good food and service. Fresh ingredients. Will be back
We sat outside. Perfect evening. Everyone really liked the food.
Se los recomiendo, comida ,servicio.. gracias no la pasamos muy bien..
Food and drinks were terrific, as was the service. Great place, highly recommend!
Food is Average at best and a little pricey for what you get.
excellent dishes, affordable prices, noise a little too high
Servers looked burned out and tired. The signs plastered on every door and window looking for help gave away their staffing issues. Margarita was overpriced and borderline undrinkable. Third time coming here and third bad experience.
For our first visit, with an out-of-town guest, we were hoping for a better experience; but, the food was just okay, the service was poor (we waited so long for drinks and had to hunt down our server to order, ask for pepper, etc.) and the music was so incredibly loud that we had to yell to visit amongst 3 of us at a high top table. Maybe it would have been a better overall visit if we could have sat on the patio and they had been staffed properly so our server wasn’t covering as a bartender too!
Consistently fresh and delicious! Our server was amazing.
We love bolero and always have a good time, however the service was subpar this go around. The waitress wouldn’t come to the table enough ( which we knew it was a busy day so we weren’t worried too much about it). But, what was extremely frustrating was being the last person waiting to get their bill back. The group was waiting for me to get my check back and I told them to go ahead and leave ahead of me ( I assumed it would be another 2-3 mins to get the bill) instead I sat there waiting for ten minutes to get my card and check to sign. I had to ask the busser who had started to clean the table off as I sat there alone waiting for the check. It appeared that the waitress and just forgotten to give me back the check despite her seeing me sitting alone at an 8 top table.
Great atmosphere! Great food and drinks! Definitely would recommend!
We were in Dallas for our anniversary. El Bolero did not disappoint. We tried a few different cocktails which were all very good. The food was outstanding. Very creative and full of flavor. The service was quick and friendly.
Fantastic food. Hannah our server was excellent!
Love this place, it was my first time and the food, drinks and specially our waiter was amazing!!!
Great vibes. I will be back again.
Ok but long wait after I ordered my food but was ok
The food was ok. Service was friendly but not every efficient. I think it was just a training issue. The waiter was nice and friendly enough but left the table without clearing plates and seemed to stand around a lot when the place was busy. I asked for coffee with me dessert and it came out cold. When I told the waiter he offered to make a new pot but we didn't have time for that. I expected that he would remove it from the bill ($4.00 for a cup of coffee) but he didn't. Again, I think a training issue. I would have spoke to the manager if we would have had more time. I just paid the bill but probably will not be back.
it rained but you did not have control over that.
The menu is massive which is great when you want options, but super hard when reading on your phone. The drink prices are OUTRAGEOUS considering the size of the drinks. I’m used to paying Dallas prices, but this was crazy. We were there for Mother’s Day and no drink specials for Mother’s Day. It was SUPER loud, mostly because the music was turned up too high for a Mother’s Day crowd. Food service was incredibly slow. Our reservation was at 12:00pm and we didn’t leave until 2:00pm and we left right after eating. The calamari was the worst I’ve ever had. Tasted like rubber bands, not tender, but the sauce was very good. The chips and salsa were good. And the entrees were really good, it just took so long to get our food. They were crowded, but not every table was taken so I feel like they should have been faster. We didn’t get a water refill until the last 10 minutes of our meal. There were also ridiculously priced up-charges for any changes to the menu. Normally it would be a couple of dollars, they were $5 each and we were just asking for a change in the sauce they offered. It was fun trying a new place, but we will not be back.
The food at El Bolero was good, but the service was VERY slow and the restaurant wasn't full. The staff was very nice, but the service for drinks and food need to be improved severely.
Delicious food and we ate outside on the patio! Great salsa! Fun atmosphere!
The noise level was a little loud on the patio for conversation. The wait staff was a little inattentive as well.
Food was good
Service was excellent
Atmosphere was ok
Great food. The queso was great. The Mexican candy watermelon bowl was so good. Will definitely be back!
The music was so loud and it took so long for anyone to give us water or take our order that by the time we got our food an hour later, we ended up taking it to go and eating it at home. The food was good but the music needs to be much quieter and the service a little better.
Came here for Cinco de Mayo to celebrate with friends and with a friend that recently moved away. We were all so excited to catch up but the music was SO loud we were screaming the whole time and couldn’t have a real conversation. I asked one of the workers if there was a possibility to turn it down some he said “I could ask but we paid for this dj so the answer is no”. All around everyone seemed to be having an unpleasant time, not one person was enjoying the rave like music blasting at 5pm on a Wednesday. Service was slow but I understand it was a holiday. Our waitress was very nice though. The food was just okay, nothing impressive. Margaritas were not great, got the house margarita special and it was so sweet with no alcohol. Ordered two and felt literally nothing but a headache from the sugar.. definitely premade in bulk for the day but like we want margaritas at 5 o clock for a reason.. parking was also a hassle we parked two streets over after circling for 10 minutes.. all in all not a great experience.
Will never go here again. I dined here on my birthday. The service was awful, then the queso was so hard and not the right texture. My order was incorrect & when I told my server that I didn’t have a good experience - he just took my food and didn’t apologize. The music was so loud that I couldn’t hear the person I was dining with. The food took an hour and half to come out. The manager was on his computer in a booth the whole time while there were people waiting at the host stand with no host available to sit them. DO NOT dine here.
We had the absolute worst experience..... We had reservations at 2PM, did not receive our drinks until 2:45 and clearly they had sat in the well for a while. Our appetizers were cold, we had no chips, no silverware. Our server was absolutely OUT OF IT, he looked completely lost or on drugs. The manager tried to help but it was just one disaster after another.
I was so excited to bring my friends here for my birthday celebration and show them The Oilman Margarita and all the amazing food. What an utter disappointment.
Will NOT be returning
