We were in Dallas for our anniversary. El Bolero did not disappoint. We tried a few different cocktails which were all very good. The food was outstanding. Very creative and full of flavor. The service was quick and friendly.
Fantastic food. Hannah our server was excellent!
Love this place, it was my first time and the food, drinks and specially our waiter was amazing!!!
Great vibes. I will be back again.
Ok but long wait after I ordered my food but was ok
The food was ok. Service was friendly but not every efficient. I think it was just a training issue. The waiter was nice and friendly enough but left the table without clearing plates and seemed to stand around a lot when the place was busy. I asked for coffee with me dessert and it came out cold. When I told the waiter he offered to make a new pot but we didn't have time for that. I expected that he would remove it from the bill ($4.00 for a cup of coffee) but he didn't. Again, I think a training issue. I would have spoke to the manager if we would have had more time. I just paid the bill but probably will not be back.
it rained but you did not have control over that.
The menu is massive which is great when you want options, but super hard when reading on your phone. The drink prices are OUTRAGEOUS considering the size of the drinks. I’m used to paying Dallas prices, but this was crazy. We were there for Mother’s Day and no drink specials for Mother’s Day. It was SUPER loud, mostly because the music was turned up too high for a Mother’s Day crowd. Food service was incredibly slow. Our reservation was at 12:00pm and we didn’t leave until 2:00pm and we left right after eating. The calamari was the worst I’ve ever had. Tasted like rubber bands, not tender, but the sauce was very good. The chips and salsa were good. And the entrees were really good, it just took so long to get our food. They were crowded, but not every table was taken so I feel like they should have been faster. We didn’t get a water refill until the last 10 minutes of our meal. There were also ridiculously priced up-charges for any changes to the menu. Normally it would be a couple of dollars, they were $5 each and we were just asking for a change in the sauce they offered. It was fun trying a new place, but we will not be back.
The food at El Bolero was good, but the service was VERY slow and the restaurant wasn't full. The staff was very nice, but the service for drinks and food need to be improved severely.
Delicious food and we ate outside on the patio! Great salsa! Fun atmosphere!
The noise level was a little loud on the patio for conversation. The wait staff was a little inattentive as well.
Food was good
Service was excellent
Atmosphere was ok
Great food. The queso was great. The Mexican candy watermelon bowl was so good. Will definitely be back!
The music was so loud and it took so long for anyone to give us water or take our order that by the time we got our food an hour later, we ended up taking it to go and eating it at home. The food was good but the music needs to be much quieter and the service a little better.
Came here for Cinco de Mayo to celebrate with friends and with a friend that recently moved away. We were all so excited to catch up but the music was SO loud we were screaming the whole time and couldn’t have a real conversation. I asked one of the workers if there was a possibility to turn it down some he said “I could ask but we paid for this dj so the answer is no”. All around everyone seemed to be having an unpleasant time, not one person was enjoying the rave like music blasting at 5pm on a Wednesday. Service was slow but I understand it was a holiday. Our waitress was very nice though. The food was just okay, nothing impressive. Margaritas were not great, got the house margarita special and it was so sweet with no alcohol. Ordered two and felt literally nothing but a headache from the sugar.. definitely premade in bulk for the day but like we want margaritas at 5 o clock for a reason.. parking was also a hassle we parked two streets over after circling for 10 minutes.. all in all not a great experience.
Will never go here again. I dined here on my birthday. The service was awful, then the queso was so hard and not the right texture. My order was incorrect & when I told my server that I didn’t have a good experience - he just took my food and didn’t apologize. The music was so loud that I couldn’t hear the person I was dining with. The food took an hour and half to come out. The manager was on his computer in a booth the whole time while there were people waiting at the host stand with no host available to sit them. DO NOT dine here.
We had the absolute worst experience..... We had reservations at 2PM, did not receive our drinks until 2:45 and clearly they had sat in the well for a while. Our appetizers were cold, we had no chips, no silverware. Our server was absolutely OUT OF IT, he looked completely lost or on drugs. The manager tried to help but it was just one disaster after another.
I was so excited to bring my friends here for my birthday celebration and show them The Oilman Margarita and all the amazing food. What an utter disappointment.
Will NOT be returning
My only issue was the cell phone menus, i will have to bring my ipad next time.
Music too loud and rap music is not complimentary of Tex mex food
Could not find eggs in the Mogadishu because e of tortillas strips- same for the chillquelas could not locate the chicken
Brunch was perfect! Nice weather for patio and drinks were nice and strong!
The service was TERRIBLE. Everything took forever and when our food came out, it was 5 or more minutes before one person at our table got their food. I really enjoyed the tacos but wouldn't go back due to the service. They also included the gratuity since there were 6 of us which also was upsetting. I felt like she just didn't try since she knew her gratuity was locked in. It took a ridiculous amount of time to pay our bill; I finally pulled a manager over to just close us out so we could leave. I would not recommend or return.
If you want TexMex with a twist then El Belero should be on your list! Venue is fresh, food was fantastic - and service outstanding.
We'll definitely be back.
We have been several times and tried many of the dishes. It’s always great; food & service. Their outdoor patio is wonderful too!
We went as a group of 6 to this restaurant and they were short staffed due to the pandemic (like many other restaurants). We did have to wait about 20 minutes before we were served but they gave us fair notice that would be the case. We sat on the patio which had a cute, cool vibe. Our female server was great! She was working really hard for our table and many others. Food was delicious. Great flavor combinations. I would definitely go back!
The hostess was incredibly rude and the food was terrible for how overpriced it was.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent.
I loved the music it was very much a vibe. Drinks were good thought that my waiter was friendly.
Absolutely loved our brunch and the atmosphere. Great food and great service.
The oilman margarita & king of cocktails margarita were very good!!! Def will be back.
The food here is always great ! My go to for Mexican food !
This was literally the worst drink I have ever had . Had to send it back . Plus the food can put out warm and the waiter didn’t even know how to explain what their Friday Lobster special was . Won’t go back
Awesome as always
Loved this place! Our server went above and beyond for us. The table was wobbly and she went out of her way to fix it that way it wouldn’t be that way during our dining experience. Our server’s name was Ada N and I believe she 100% deserves a raise. As a business owner, I love seeing that. Good help is hard to find. Margaritas were OUTSTANDING. 10/10 overall experience and will be visiting again when I come back to Dallas.
I've never had such horrible queso fundido!!! It had been cooked way too long, it was not gooey at all. My husband had the grande steak burrito which he described as bland and dry.
The food was good. Our server I felt had to many tables and we had to ask for water and drink refills multiple times. We sat in patio and table was not level and asked to have it leveled and it never was. Our silverware was taken after our appetizer and then when our food was delivered we had no silverware and had to wait to ask for more silverware. Our server did a good job however, she needed more support.
It was great definitely will go back. Loved the Reaper.
El Bolero never disappoints. Consistently great food and service.
We LOVED everything about this. Our drinks took a little longer than anticipated to get to us, but otherwise, the atmosphere, food, and restaurant were perfect! Definitely will be back! The oilfield margarita is where it’s at!
