Came here for Cinco de Mayo to celebrate with friends and with a friend that recently moved away. We were all so excited to catch up but the music was SO loud we were screaming the whole time and couldn’t have a real conversation. I asked one of the workers if there was a possibility to turn it down some he said “I could ask but we paid for this dj so the answer is no”. All around everyone seemed to be having an unpleasant time, not one person was enjoying the rave like music blasting at 5pm on a Wednesday. Service was slow but I understand it was a holiday. Our waitress was very nice though. The food was just okay, nothing impressive. Margaritas were not great, got the house margarita special and it was so sweet with no alcohol. Ordered two and felt literally nothing but a headache from the sugar.. definitely premade in bulk for the day but like we want margaritas at 5 o clock for a reason.. parking was also a hassle we parked two streets over after circling for 10 minutes.. all in all not a great experience.
We had the absolute worst experience..... We had reservations at 2PM, did not receive our drinks until 2:45 and clearly they had sat in the well for a while. Our appetizers were cold, we had no chips, no silverware. Our server was absolutely OUT OF IT, he looked completely lost or on drugs. The manager tried to help but it was just one disaster after another.
I was so excited to bring my friends here for my birthday celebration and show them The Oilman Margarita and all the amazing food. What an utter disappointment.
Will NOT be returning
Music too loud and rap music is not complimentary of Tex mex food
Could not find eggs in the Mogadishu because e of tortillas strips- same for the chillquelas could not locate the chicken
Brunch was perfect! Nice weather for patio and drinks were nice and strong!
The service was TERRIBLE. Everything took forever and when our food came out, it was 5 or more minutes before one person at our table got their food. I really enjoyed the tacos but wouldn't go back due to the service. They also included the gratuity since there were 6 of us which also was upsetting. I felt like she just didn't try since she knew her gratuity was locked in. It took a ridiculous amount of time to pay our bill; I finally pulled a manager over to just close us out so we could leave. I would not recommend or return.
If you want TexMex with a twist then El Belero should be on your list! Venue is fresh, food was fantastic - and service outstanding.
We'll definitely be back.
We have been several times and tried many of the dishes. It’s always great; food & service. Their outdoor patio is wonderful too!
We went as a group of 6 to this restaurant and they were short staffed due to the pandemic (like many other restaurants). We did have to wait about 20 minutes before we were served but they gave us fair notice that would be the case. We sat on the patio which had a cute, cool vibe. Our female server was great! She was working really hard for our table and many others. Food was delicious. Great flavor combinations. I would definitely go back!
The hostess was incredibly rude and the food was terrible for how overpriced it was.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent.
I loved the music it was very much a vibe. Drinks were good thought that my waiter was friendly.
Absolutely loved our brunch and the atmosphere. Great food and great service.
The oilman margarita & king of cocktails margarita were very good!!! Def will be back.
The food here is always great ! My go to for Mexican food !
This was literally the worst drink I have ever had . Had to send it back . Plus the food can put out warm and the waiter didn’t even know how to explain what their Friday Lobster special was . Won’t go back
Awesome as always
Loved this place! Our server went above and beyond for us. The table was wobbly and she went out of her way to fix it that way it wouldn’t be that way during our dining experience. Our server’s name was Ada N and I believe she 100% deserves a raise. As a business owner, I love seeing that. Good help is hard to find. Margaritas were OUTSTANDING. 10/10 overall experience and will be visiting again when I come back to Dallas.
I've never had such horrible queso fundido!!! It had been cooked way too long, it was not gooey at all. My husband had the grande steak burrito which he described as bland and dry.
The food was good. Our server I felt had to many tables and we had to ask for water and drink refills multiple times. We sat in patio and table was not level and asked to have it leveled and it never was. Our silverware was taken after our appetizer and then when our food was delivered we had no silverware and had to wait to ask for more silverware. Our server did a good job however, she needed more support.
It was great definitely will go back. Loved the Reaper.
El Bolero never disappoints. Consistently great food and service.
We LOVED everything about this. Our drinks took a little longer than anticipated to get to us, but otherwise, the atmosphere, food, and restaurant were perfect! Definitely will be back! The oilfield margarita is where it’s at!
Unique menu. Outstanding service, ambiance. Plenty of parking. I'll be back.
Exceptional food and service!
Great food and service. Just to loud for conversation
Having an Early Dinner with Our Handsome Son
great service, we got there and the line was crazy. Thank god that we had used Opentable
Service is terrible - repeatedly. We keep going back because the food is so good, but I really haven’t ever had worse service. Several times now. :(
Showed up for my 6:15 reservation waiting till 6:40 in line with several others no hostess in sight...went to finally speak with a hostess who started seating people without reservations prior to those who did...asked what the point was in booking a reservation and hostess said if I did not like it I could leave! Completely incompetent hostess who could not handle a busy rush or understand what it means to book a reservation...as I looked around I noticed customers complaining about long waits for food and poor service...do not waste your time
Had a reservation for brunch on Sunday and when we arrived they were closed. They did not call, email or text but for whatever reason closed their doors.
My friends and I had a great experience! Ana was our server and she was quick and helped us celebrate a friends birthday!
We had to wait an hour for our food. Several waiters came out to apologize.
Food was cold coming out. Tortillas were cold. Queso fundido was cold. Kind of bummed because it was so good last time.
Terrible customer service. Despite having a reservation the wait time to be served was too long. When food was brought to the table it was cold. Music was extremely loud. Big line to go to the restroom. (One lady's wc and 1 for gents it is NOT enough for a restaurant serving such large crowds).
Loud inside so we moved outside. It was windy but very enjoyable excellent ribeye and great al pastor guc.
We booked our reservation 1hr before dinner and we’re so excited to have found reservations so late. When we arrived the hostess had no idea what she was doing! We had a reservation and she had no tables and no idea when she could seat us. She showed me a list of people and said “everyone here has a reservation and is still waiting on a table” then I asked why even have available reservations on open table if you can’t accommodate! And she said “I don’t know. I don’t work for open table” 😑🙄
Food was good. Drinks were strong. Service was just ok. And it was very very loud.
We are not really sure what was wrong but it was a difficult process that day. Maybe there were shift changes but it still seemed like we were never fully served. We went a long time without anything but water on the table. The food and drinks were great but the repeated asking for silverware, refills and other things added to the disappointment.
We had 8pm reservation for 2 people. We waited at bar and snacked, and at 8:45 when we confronted the hostess, she said she “had other tables to seat”, and she shrugged. We ended up finishing our appetizer at bar without a table offered to us. Unacceptable service. The bartenders were fine though.
