EL BARÓN - Cafe & Liquor Bar

We did a rum tasting here in Cartagena... it was a fabulous experience!!

The food and ambiance were great! We sat on the patio and they were very accommodating to us even though we speak very little Spanish. I recommend the Eggplant dish, ceviche, and the Caesar salad (I know this seems random but honestly you won't regret it).

The cocktails at El Baron were awesome! The people watching was spectacular, and the tapas were excellent. We really enjoyed it there and even tried to book again before we left, but alas! Next time!

Great for outdoor dining with amazing cocktail and people watching right in front of a beautiful church. This outdoor dining space is somehow protected from the street vendors, so you could dine peacefully and yet watch all the actions around you in the bustling plaza. Service is welcoming and kind and attentive. Best place to end the night. Looking forward to returning to this place for the next visit.

The best bar in Cartagena. A must! You have to order the specials drinks of the season, its great.

It’s a cocktail bar with small plates - not a restaurant. It’s an amazing place though, with especially skilled mixologists. Grab dinner next door and get wasted here! 🙌

We had an awesome meal at El Baron! We loved this place 3 years ago, and were happy to go back. The cocktails are really the star of the show there, but the tapas are also outstanding. We tried a number of different drinks from the seasonal cocktail menu and all were delicious. It was especially wonderful that when we described a drink my husband had tasted the last time we were there, they were able to make it for him again, even though it wasn't on the current menu. We sat outside, and it was fun to people watch on the square. The last time we were there, we also loved sitting in their cozy inside space. I absolutely recommend El Baron!

What a wonderful bar! Cool drinks, in a top location in Cartagena's walled city. We sat outside to people watch. Many people were turned away because they were booked. I made our reservation about a month ahead. Too hot to be sitting outside during the day. Best after 6 PM. Horse drawn carriages stop nearby and are great for an after dinner tour. Dress up and don't bring the kids.

This little bar/cafe was a nice spot for great drinks/cocktails and tasty tapas! All the food we tried was REALLY good... Some of the best we've ever had!

Firstly management made an effort to squeeze us in when opentable had no openings. Which was awesome. Drinks were super unique and more diverse than the rest of cartagena. The tapas were great. Chile was so good get the large not the small. The shrimp tapa bruschetta was also excellent. I'd say one of the best places in cartagena.
