About this restaurant

  • Good for groups
  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
El Almacen in Brooklyn, New York offers an interesting mix of cuisines, focusing mainly on Argentinian food but with Mexico also well represented, and even some Italian offerings. The focus is heavy on meat, with beef spare ribs, lamb chops, pork chops, blood sausage and steak. The pasta of the day is also popular, as is the grilled market fish. At El Almacen, you could also make a meal from the appetizers and sides. The avocado fries are wonderfully crisp on the outside and tender on the inside and the papas Provenal are also very tasty. The charcuterie is a taste sensation including salamis, Serrano ham, olives, dill pickles, matambre and creamy mustard. If you enjoy a variety of different tastes, El Almacen is sure to please.

This was my second time here and it was still amazing! The food, wine, service, and atmosphere were all second to none. I'll keep coming back for sure.

Good food/ great place/ poir service Unfortunately we didn't have access to our voicemail and didn't receive their message advising that they were out of steaks. That's a pitty since we came here for the meat. Also when we asked for another bottle of wine at the end of our meal, they said no and told us that they were closing. We liked to food (even if it was not beef) but we didn't feel welcome at all, which is a pitty for a restaurant...

Wonderful dinner with friend. Service was spot on and food was Delish. Best steak I've had in a long time. We will definitely be back.

The staff acts like it's a privilege for dinners to eat at Almacen. There are much better Argentinian restaurants in the city. Almacen staff are rude, they have ridiculous irrational rules regarding their reservations. They took 40 min between appetizers and main course! The food was over salted anyway. We're never going there again.

the food was very well prepared and presented, but the atmosphere was a bit chaotic. I was visiting my niece and daughter and were having drinks first to get caught up with each other and the wait staff kept returning to take our order and finally told us that we had to order so that they could turn the table. Not my definition of hospitality.

I would highly recommend this place. I went with a couple friends and we shared some small plates - avocado fries, calamari, ceviche, empanadas, and some others. Everything was delicious, including the wine. The environment was intimate, low key and friendly. Service was awesome. And the chocolate cake was most of the best I've had!
