Perhaps the most unprofessional service I’ve had in London. Endless wait to take our order, starters were forgotten at the pass for 20 minutes (we could see them there...), no attention whatsoever - and it’s a real shame because the cooking is good. Sadly the service ruined the experience entirely.

Was really excited to try this restaurant.
Hmmm mixed feelings; service was very hit or miss. Set menu was not explained clearly. Anything we ordered was not available (would have been easier to state both things at the beginning). Won’t be in a rush to go back!

I was ordering from the Set Menu, and all the options were very strong and reasonably priced. I hadn’t had Swedish meatballs best or lingonberries but that dish was so well balanced and cooked perfectly - I might go back just for that one dish alone! The service was brilliant and the background music added to the ambiance. I definitely recommend it!

Although pricey for what it is, the quality is good. The lamb and the beef was delicious.

The meatballs were really good, as were the desserts and drinks. I liked the ambiance, which was chic yet relaxed. There were lots of different diners - couples, work dinners, single diners etc so it is suitable for a diverse range of diners :) Definitely recommend!

Consistently excellent food, Ekte is a solid choice for eating in the City. This time we visited with a toddler in tow (admittedly not their usual clientele) and were pleasantly surprised at discovering that they had high chairs and changing station in the bathrooms. We have been made feel so welcome by all staff, including the chef who was happy to explain to the little one what he was doing. Thank you!

First time at Ekte and enjoyed a quick dinner. My smoked salmon and deep-fried plaice were good. The service was attentive and arranged for the plaice dish to come without a curry sauce. The atmosphere was a bit dull but probably not for most diners who were arranged along the windows with the body of the restaurant empty apart from me.

We ate here on Saturday lunchtime. Hadn't realised that weekend menu was brunch or just a few other dishes, not the main menu. However we all found something to eat. We had the mixed snittel plater along with some small plates each for starters which were all delicious. We all decided on the Bikesmad (Nordic hash) which we all thoroughly enjoyed. All in all very impressed with the food.
Service could have been better when we arrived, we sat for quite a while before being offered drinks. Only a few other tables were seated so it wasn't as if they were very busy.

Very nice, so happy this place to have lunch with my mum, we both love Scandivian food. I wish there could have been a few more dishes on the menu but what we chose was delicious.

Why does the whole table have to order from the sane menu?

Why does 2 course mean starter and main?
Why can’t it be main and dessert?
All other restaurants’ set menu permits the options.
Why not you?
Not any difficulty for the staff in kitchen.

Scandinavian dinning was a new departure for our group and the experience was very pleasant. Staff were pleasant and attentive, service was efficient and the food was excellent and there was a good choice of dishes. As senior citizens we probably need a bit more time to adjust to the ultra modern style of the restaurant but it will be worth the effort.

A good choice for a Friday night to meet for discussion when other places in the area get very noisy. Food slightly quirky to a traditional English palate, but fresh, interesting, well presented. Service could have been more attentive at times.

Average experience. Hospitable staff, sea bream as a main dish was mediocre, appeared to be over cooked and the accompanying sauce did not compliment it.

Very short menu and the food that we saw leaving the kitchen looked good. We ordered the smoked carrots as a side dish but wouldn't have them again - after the initial novelty, the flavour just drowned out everything else.

We took our friend as a surprise for her 50th birthday as her dad was Danish. The food was so nice with loads of flavour (even for me being a vegan). Friday nights are great and the music was just getting going as we had to leave sadly. The staff were lovely and it’s a great location very close to Cannon Street. I would definitely recommend.

Had a mid week lunch here with friends. We love Nordic food and wanted to order everything, so we shared about 8 plates between the three of us. We particularly liked the ox tongue, the smoked elk, and the herring smorrebrod.

One of us had to rush off for a meeting so we were hoping for quick service, but the food took rather longer then we expected. We mentioned it to the waiter when paying the bill and he kindly took about 30% of the bill! Overall we really enjoyed our lunch and definitely will be back .
The cinnamon buns are not to miss (grab one to go on your way out!)

Had a delicious meal before heading over to the Barbican for a concert. It's only a 10-15 minute walk. We had a few Smørrebrød to start, topped with roast beef, smoked salmon or lightly fried mackerel. All delicious. I had the lamb rump which was wonderful. Seared exterior with nice pink center. Delicious sauce over one of my favourites, Kholrabi. Nice little pickle to cut through the lamb. Still thinking about it...
My wife had the Frikadeller, which she enjoyed with a rich potato mash. The only complaint we had was the temperature of the mash, which was a tad cold.
Finished with the cheese board and a light and crisp rhubarb crumble.
It was very quiet, we were the only patrons at 1800.
All in all, enjoyable. Will be back.

The food was delicious. Really flavoursome and high quality. The service was great when with us but all too often we were just left alone whilst three or four staff chatted to each other at the service station. Drinks took far too long as well. Would have been 5 star if the service was more attentive.
