Everything was delicious! Would definitely go again. We shared octopus starter fabulous! Drinks creative.
Great food fun decor
We booked through OpenTable and were assigned a table at the back, facing the kitchen entrance and servers counter. As we had guests, there was a wish not to make a fuss.
The table was also not one in keeping with the decor as it was a wobbly fold out table; the others are solid and of a decent size. As a result a glass of water was spilled. It took 5 minutes for the server (David) to take action even after we called this to his attention. He also did not make sure that the table was correctly re-laid. We were constantly asking for new napkins, cutlery, water etc. .... even after the dishes were served. He basically did not pay attention to rectifying the accident.
We also had to call another server to remind them to deliver the wine that was ordered.
The attraction of this restaurant is the decor and food, which we were unable to enjoy. In short, this lack of attention ruined what we hoped would be an enjoyable evening.
Management needs to be more proactive in ensuring that these sorts of things don’t happen. It seemed that the servers were either understaffed or inefficient and this particular table should never have been put out.
All in all BAD.... we won’t go back soon.
Loved everything about it. Server suggested preparations for our cocktails and they were mixed perfectly. Service was excellent. We've been on the road traveling for give weeks and this ranks at the top of our list. We will be back!
Restaurant vert vert busy for modernismweek, but not up to its usual high standards. Stroganoff not great!! Needed more spurcream, not just a dab.
We have eaten here multiple times over the years but this time our experience was disappointing--especially because we brought guests. We were seated promptly which was good. Our waiter introduced himself immediately and wanted our drink orders and got upset when we wanted to look at the cocktail list before ordering. Two of us ordered the 4 course dinner and two of us ordered from the main menu. The cocktails were very good. They were out of the Sancerre we ordered so we had to make another wine choice. The fig and ricotta appetizer was good. The muse bouche was some kind of odd tasting couscous and lettuce mixture ( I guess), the pear salad was a bunch of lettuce on the plate with dried pear slices plopped on top, a few poached pear cubes around the edge and a minuscule piece of cheese on the side buried under the lettuce. The cauliflower steak was tasteless and not attractively plated, the smoked mushroom pappardelle entree was way too smokey and very pasty (not edible), the fried chicken entree was very good and the scallops were buried under a very heavy white sauce with huge planks of potato on top of of the dish. The best part of the meal was the lime tart. The noise level was very loud---we could barely talk to each other. There are many other excellent choices in the area so it is doubtful we will be back any time soon.
Eight4Nine is always fun and festive. Even though Modernism Week was in full swing, the restaurant staff kept things moving along quite nicely.
Very attentive and "hands-on" management. Professional service. Good food. Very lovely decor (in and out)!
Lovely dinner. Lovely service. Always consistent.
Service extremely slow. No apologies for delay. Waiter seemed overstretched. Servers put extra items with wrong diner and had to be corrected. I would expect servers at a restaurant of this calibre to know which meal and extras go with each diner.
3 of the meals were very good, mine was reasonable, except the toast was actually just dried bread and the potato scone was like rubber.
We have dined here before and the service and food was excellent.
I hope this is an aberation.
We were so impressed by the staff of the restaurant. We didn’t care for our food, but even though we didn’t say a word the staff bent over backwards to make it right for us. The could not have shown more concern and attention. Great recovery.
Decor is interesting and fun. Hostess was off-putting, not very welcoming. Our waiter and another man (busboy, perhaps) were really great. Food was fine - nothing outstanding. Fish was cooked well but bland. Menu said it was “sourdough crusted” but it was actually a piece of fish with a sourdough cracker on top. Just a very average meal. We were there on Valentine’s Day so maybe the restaurant was off due to it being so busy, but I wouldn’t go back again.
We visited first time for Valentine’s Day. The visit was not what we expect. Food was cold and service was awful. Even after we provided feedback it was one excuse after another so disappointing. Ruin our Valentine’s Day
Waiting 30+ minutes to be seated Even with a reservation
Restaurant felt understaffed for Valentine’s Day dinner
Went here for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. The restaurant was buzzing, but we were seated relatively quickly after arriving (we had a reservation). They had a prix-fixe menu and all 4 courses were delicious. The ambience and decor are top notch, I would definitely come back
We were there on valentines day so our expectations were low. So glad we went - food awesome, service awesome, would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The food was great, but when I made the reservation I didn't know it was going to be a fixed price menu; however $65 for four courses isn't unreasonable. Our server, who is a former student of mine from CCHS, was fabulous!
Great way to spend our Valentines Day dinner excellent food and service
Excellent. Wonderful. Shawn took us to a quite table for Valentine Day Dinner and what a great personality. Willie the owner asked how pleased we were. Excellent food cocktails Large just a wonderful evening. Larry T
Our Valentine's meal was one of the best we've ever had! Seriously! The sea bass was superb, the desserts a delight, and everything else was perfection. And the servers could not have been more attentive and charming. Than k you, 849 folks, for a truly romantic evening...
my salad was limp and the dressing flavorless. Somehow the grilled cheese tasted of sugar
Really fun atmosphere, food was fantastic and creative, service was excellent, and it was quiet enough to actually have a conversation with my husband!
Fantastic on all points! Will go again...and again.
This was the best dinner we had in Palm spring. Thank you for all you did to make our night the best.
The place is beautifully decorated -- a really unique interior design. The food was very good, but not terribly innovative. The service was good.
Good food well prepared and good service
Casey was wonderful but where was the layer cake of the week?😩. The peanut butter dessert was way too rich and sweet😬 and we look so forward to that cake.
Great service and food.
Always great food, service, ambiance, etc. brought a friend for a birthday celebration which was greatly appreciated. We have now brought three very special friends there for birthdays.
Loved the movie playing outside on the wall. It’s a fun inviting place...loved the decor and atmosphere. Staff was great!
Inviting and fun atmosphere. Excellent offerings on the menu. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Our food was fabulous. A must return when back in Palm Springs
We were seated right away and the busboy gave us water and then immediately the waiter took our drink order. Service was attentive and the food was excellent! We will be back!
As always, one of our favorite restaurants in Palm Springs
Great service, wish they did not serve Champagne for an anniversary. Awkward when you’re in alcoholic. Otherwise this is a sixth time we’ve been to the restaurant and definitely will come back again.
Great service, wonderful food
Great spot, don’t miss out!
Deliciously inventive healthy dishes. Had a lovely lunch in beautiful white ambience. A treasure for the city of Palm Springs.
Amazing food! Had the lamb and sea bass for dinners and the poke for starters. Their drink "some like it hot" is pretty hot but so good!
As always we had a fabulous lunch with great food and lovely service.
Always love this place!! Service and food terrific! We sat and talked and talked and there was no rush to leave. Just perfect Sunday brunch with friends!
This is a beautiful restaurant-all white with accents of hot pink and black. We went for brunlch on Sunday and I had the Huevos Rancheros and they were delicious. Our server -Chezzy-was efficient and friendly. We sat by the large window and watched the world go by. They also have 2 patios. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
