Great food. Great vibe. Great service! And Willie Rhine and staff are very community minded.
Great atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Cocktails & food were great! We got the prize fixed menu. Something for everyone.
Triedbit twice. Better the second time in private room as the main room when full is a thunderous voice attack. But the private group. All were there at 12:15. Offered drinks at 12:30. Came around for more drinks 20 mins later. Was an hour and fifteen minutes before our food order was taken. Very mundane food with fancy names and high higher prices. I love the ambient high end restaurants, but this was like a Fancy Denny’s, with more service people but slower service.
The first visit my guest asked if the Mexican dish was mild. Oh yes, he was assured. It was so highly spiced even water didn’t appease it, and he left it all..... are part of my tiny steak, for which I believe I paid $38, and we went elsewhere, so he could eat something pleasant. Sorry but a great disappointment.
I had dinner @ 849 twice in the past. It was ok but this time having lunch there with my family, it was prefect. Overall.
Great fun restaurant! Very expensive but worth it. The greens in the beet salad were not good. They had cumin on them and were a heavy lettuce that didn’t pair well but our main dishes were beyond amazing! Dessert good, but the lime cake needed more lime, and the decor was a little too modern but a cool night
What a disappointment! We were visiting a friend in Palm Springs, and selected based on reviews. Lunch was not very good. Service was just ok. Food was sub-standard. The lettuce in my Cobb salad was wilted. My wife’s burger was dry and not very tasty. French fries were cold and seemed like they came out of a bag. Definitely can not recommend.
The menu had something for everyone in our group. Food was very good and well priced, service was excellent and decor aas appealing.
Everything was top notch from the service to the food. Would definitely return.
Love the place been there for the third time & still enjoy it every time. FYI there's one broken mirror outside the patio & in Feng Shui broken mirror is bad energy & bad for business. So just wanted to inform & remind you because we love the decor & your place. And also we would like to extend our appreciation to Willie for sending those complimentary gift card. My husband & I enjoyed & love the sparklers. It was fun & whimsical. Thanks a lot Willie & may God bless you always.
Truly amazing service from server and her support/bus guys. Food on special menu was excellent and a bargain for the quality.
The food and service is always incredible. Thank you!!
Food was excellent. Service was good - perhaps too good: the corn and cab chowder appetizer (which was quite delicious) was served within a minute or 2 of the time I ordered it. I would like to have had a few minutes to sip my drink before starting to eat.
It was our anniversary and I kid you not we have never in our lives had such delicious and artistic food, it was like a modern day tea party :)
Great food and service, amazing decor! Must take a peek inside each room if you can do so discreetly without disturbing the diners.
Just did not click with the atmosphere --- too big and featureless. (We went in August, however, when the restaurant was generally empty ... our experience might have been different at a busier time)
Visiting from London, food was great really tasty. Service was verging on too fast, within 30mins of sitting down we had been served cocktails; starters; mains; dessert and given the bill (felt rushed).
The other guests were loud and a little rude (might be just not what we are used to).
This place is horrible to look at and it matches the horrible food.
The food has gone from very good to excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. Terrific service and the numerous dining rooms provide an intimate do dining experience.
Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Outstanding food. You can’t go wrong with this restaurant.
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was enjoyable and felt very much like Palm Springs.
Great experience celebrating a dear friends birthday.
One of our favorite places to dine in Palm Springs, especially in the summer when there are fewer tourists and when Eight4Nine has a wonderful $29 three course special. The ambiance is relaxing, the service impeccible and the whole dining experience is 5*
I love this restaurant! Every time I visit Palm Springs, I dine at 849! Always fabulous! Always!
Meeting an old friend. His first time. He loved his meal as did I but we did get the wrong order so I had to wait for my meal to come out which is always uncomfortable because the other person always wants to wait to eat.
Our server Cindi was great! She had great recommendations, we got the 4 course special and it was so delicious and great quality! And best of all they had gluten free options, instead of bread Cindi was able to get me these delicious gluten free crackers. It’s nice to be able to eat when everyone else at the table is eating otherwise people usually ask why I’m not eating then I have to explain celiac etc. but with the crackers I can carry on an eat as normal without too many questions haha.
Not so great menu, wine list not so good, the decoration is coherent with all this. Over rated.
Thanks for the BDay surprise -I'd just mentioned it in the rez -and, sparkler dessert❣️❣️
Both the service and the food were excellent. We will be back.
We dine there at least once a week. Always a wonderful experience-food, service, ambiance, and etc. We just love Charlene , our professional server Charlene and support staff.
Excellent food and service
Beautiful decor and art! Great place for a celebratory dinner or just drinks.
We had the 4 course meal, which I recommend so you can try a bit of everything.
For sure we'll come back!
Love this place! We stop in every time we’re in town.
Great service. Chose the Branzino special which was outstanding. Will be returning!
Great food & friendly staff! Cocktails were great! Comfortable seating arrangements.
Had a great experience. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Unfortunately we had spent the day mostly eating and drinking so by the time we arrived we did not have big appetites. However we still had entrees and shared a few appetizers which were all very good. The lobster mac and cheese, the diver scallops and the crab and corn chowder were standouts. Our waiter was even kind enough to take our group picture and recommended the best photo spots rather than just trying to hurry us off. I would definitely return.
Yes! I always head here first when I am in town! Love it!
The food is usually good there; but I suspect that because we’re in off-season here in the desert, that things are slacking off midweek.
***Note: After I wrote this review I was immediately contacted by the restaurant manager Willie, expressing his concern for the reputation of the restaurant. As a local resident I was impressed by his wish to make our dining experience better; and his invitation to return. Thank You Willie; we'll be back!
Hi, I am sorry you had a bad experience. Things should never slack off anytime. I would like the opportunity to fix any issues. Would you please share more details with me. Willie@eight4nine. Thank you
We had chicken Milanese. I did not care of the bread coating on the chicken. Did not care for the Avocado Toast.
Dessert fabulous. Service exceptional.
The restaurant is gorgeous although the food was under seasoned
