Edson Hill's menu includes a range of dishes that reflect the seasonal nature of Vermont cuisine. There are snacks such as a Vermont Chef's Cheese and charcuterie board and fried brussels sprouts, small plates like duck rillette toast and venison carpaccio. Big Plates such as Halibut with pomegranate beurre blanc and Bone-In Pork Loin with creamy polenta.
My husband and I were there for our anniversary. Our waitress Donna was attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely welcoming. The dining room was airy yet cozy. The views from every window were of a beautiful landscape. I have been recommending this restaurant ever since we ate there. We come to Stowe 2 long weekends a year and will definitely be back.
Fabulous views, food and service! On vacation and we are going back our last night here in beautiful Stowe.
We had the most amazing honeymoon! Thank you so much for all your thoughtfulness, like complimentary champagne with our perfect dinner. Everyone was lovely, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We look forward to returning again for our anniversary :)
We have eaten here 4 times now - first time in outside space which was lovely - it was raining but heaters were on and shades drawn to insulate - staff is so helpful and accommodating without any degree of stuffiness! Special place!
We had high hopes for our meal at Edson Hill. We arrived as it was getting dark and found it a bit challenging to find the entrance. The seating in the outside patio was lovely. It was a bit chilly so they set up one of the heaters which we very much appreciated.
I had scallops with risotto and it was very delicious. My husband had the pasta dish with pesto and found the serving overly large and heavy.
Given other choices in Stowe, I probably wouldn’t choose Edson hill again.
My wife and I came here for a date night away from the kids and it couldn’t have been better. Great ambiance, friendly staff, and fantastic food and wine. Can’t wait to return next time we are in town!
Gorgeous setting with a breathtaking view~ food was amazing too! Started with Grilled Watermelon and Feta Caprese salad and fried cauliflower - both were delish!! For main entrees we had ribeye, scallops, chicken and a burger. All were cooked to perfection and very tasty! After dinner, downstairs to have
drinks and listen to live music - a beautiful evening!
Sat on patio
Don't miss it!
Beautiful outdoor setting, excellent food and service!
The food and the service were both good. It’s a very nice location. We were there on a Thursday and enjoyed the live music.
Beautiful location. We shared several small plates and enjoyed them all. The Chicken liver mousse was excellent! One of the few Stowe restaurants with excellent food, not just the usual pizza, burger, salmon.
Gorgeous setting with outdoor dining overlooking the property's beautiful hills and ponds. The service is efficient and consistently pleasant and upbeat. The food was delicious: my wife had seared scallops and I had sea bass. Both were excellent...could not have been better. We also ate on two other evenings at the downstairs tavern. Same menu but a more casual vibe. Hamburgers and pasta were very tasty. Vin, the bartender, definitely added to the ambiance.
Elegant covered patio with beautiful views. Thoughtful, well-prepared menu. Nice experience.
We had a beautiful dinner on the patio and highly recommend the margarita to start! My husband and I don’t eat meat, so the menu is a bit limited for us, but still excellent. He loved the fried cauliflower.
Great place would go back for sure. Weather was beautiful as well.
Bravo for this accomplissement from food to service. Bravissimo, will be back for sure at our next visit at Stowe area
Beautiful outdoor dinner. Delicious food and wonderful ambiance.
Venue is drop dead beautiful
Food spectacular but don’t give me a stained menu, pls refill our wine glasses if we have ordered a bottle of wine and don’t auction off our food.
You can do better.
Amazing meal with an amazing view. Definitely recommend for a nice romantic evening in Stowe!
Location was spectacular and food was delicious. Service was a bit lackluster given the price point.
It was heavenly...truly. Wonderful service. Delicious culinary creations. We had scallops and ribeye. Lovely fresh salad roasted corn vichyssoise. The potatoes fried in duck fat were sinfully delicious. Service excellent and friendly. There’s also a patio by the downstairs tavern which is so appealing. The ambiance, in a glorious setting overlooking a gentle valley and tree packed hills alongside. Oh my. This is worth the 3 1/2 mile drive up a shady mountain road. I want to return one day. So happy to have discovered this on Open Table.
While we liked the room (no. 9) a lot, its location above the dining room was very disappointing; and there is no way to know that when you book on-line. The noise from July 4th dinner music penetrated up to our room for hours. The incessant base was obnoxious. The bathroom did not have a window shade or towel bars to hang your towel on; the shower head kept dripping water long after it was turned off; the toilet seat was ready to fall off and the power (TV and A/C) kept cutting out because the electric service was overloaded.
My husband and I work 12-14 hours a day at full time jobs and then maintaining our farm and gardens. We needed peace and quiet so we could do absolutely nothing for a couple of days. We were really looking forward to our visit but when we were lead through the dining room up the steps to our room, that set the tone for a less than optimal visit.
Your inn is in a nice place with a great location but you are way overpriced for what you deliver. You all ought to focus on infrastructure instead of cosmetics.
On a positive note, the food was excellent !!
Thanks for asking,
Incredible. Food was amazing. Drinks were excellent. Service was stellar. The view and atmosphere was unbelievable. One of the best dinners I’ve ever had.
Edson Hill is a hidden gem! I can't believe that I have not been there before. The chef and dining room staff were amazing! Every bit of our dinner and breakfast were worthy of a 5 star review. The atmosphere and warm and the welcome by staff was excellent. It feels like a beautiful home away from home. Our room was perfect with a cozy fireplace and soaking tub. We will certainly be back often to enjoy the quiet beauty and incredible food! The only downside is that we couldn't stay longer. Thank you!
We had dinner here for the first time with my family after discovering it on trip advisor. Off the beaten path in a lovely location with great views. Food and service were wonderful and we will be back when we’re in Stowe again.
Fried cauliflower appetizer was excellent.
Love it!beautiful job renovating the house and gardens. Dining room is fabulous with fun accents and food amazing- will return many times. Best place in Stowe!
Special shout out for Charles! He is excellent and very personable.
Set in a beautiful location, with great service, and great food.
Absolutely wonderful experience!! The food, ambiance and service was perfect! Can’t wait to come back.
Our special occasion dinner at Edson Hill was lovely. The ambiance is beautiful but we didn't find the
windsor back chairs to be particularly comfortable. Our servers were gracious and attentive and certainly made us feel warmly welcomed. Appetizer and small plate selection was extensive, seasonally
appropriate and delicious. I didn't expect to see hanger steak as the only beef choice on the otherwise
well chosen selection of main plate entrees. Overall a nice fine dining experience.
Exceptional food, service and ambiance. We absolutely love coming here.
Elegant dining without being pretentious. The facility is quaint and the service is excellent. The menu was diverse and the drinks were excellent. I loved the seating areas in the room. Bench style seating with fluffy pillows to an 18 person dining table in the middle of the room. The ambiance was romantic country and the rooms feel changed from day to evening. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a romantic dinner in the mountains.
Absolutely charming - beautiful setting - interesting menu - wait staff and Inn staff friendly, professional, attentive - food was delicious and stylishly presented - a truly wonderful evening!
A wonderful vermont country inn setting. Romantic, elegant, attentive and warm service ! Such a great combination !
The quality, presentation and taste of the food exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is a bit out of the way but well worth the trip.
Best place for dinner in Stowe. If you have only one evening in Stowe, VT go to Edson Hill, well thought menu, great cocktails, courteous service.
have been going to Stowe for years and just discovered Edson Hill! Perhaps it was light falling snow as we arrived that amped the charm factor but when we went inside we were in love. Everything about the evening was amazing! The host greeting us, waiting in the living room by the fire, having a drink in the tavern and the dinner all were flawless. Not only would we recommend it but we what to go with friends and stay for a long weekend, I know they would love it too.
Initially the service was non existent for the first 10 minutes. When we asked a staff member for a server to stop by, she presented a bit of attitude in her response to us. After that, the meal and drinks were wonderful! While the setting and ambiance are rich and beautiful, it was a bit of a damper when children of guests (who were staying in the actual house where dining is), ran into the dining area several times throughout our meal and were a bit loud, disrupting everyone’s experience.
Amazing place and ambience. The building itself is just inviting and beautiful. Everything tasted fantastic with great presentation. Service was excellent and personable.
