Our reservation was originally for 4 and grew to 9. Our server was outstanding. The food was amazing. Edmund's Oast never disappoints!
Awesome! Had the best time and food was amazing!
Excellent vibe. Walked in and it was full of young professionals and a sophisticated older crowd. Food was superb! Noticed that not a single table had salt or pepper on it. That’s the kind of confidence in their food that they had. I had the hanger steak and it was divine. The French fries were a perfect appetizer. Apparently they have great happy hour specials in the bar, but we were at a table.
Once again the food at Edmunds Oast exceeded expectations. This is our 3rd visit in 4 years, and probably remains our top restaurant choice in foodie Charleston. Service ordinarily has been superb, this time, our server seemed a bit "short". Beer offerings are great (my favorite a local Westbrook IPA). The roasted carrots were nicely seasoned, the octopus lightly charred, filet perfectly prepared, and my wife's hot and sour halibut intriguing. Make your reservations well in advance!!!
Food is different but very good. Take your time ordering as you can end up eating too much if you don’t pace yourself. Very good food though.
Service was very good. Recommendations by our waiter were excellent.
My husband and I were visiting Charleston and heard rave reviews about the craft beer selection and charcuterie. It was good but overrated in my opinion. I was disappointed in the wine selection (by the glass) and my husband was so-so on the beer. We ordered the octopus, which was the highlight for us. The charcuterie platter (large with cheese) was nice and great quality. The highlight was their head cheese, which truly knocked our socks off. The rest of the platter was nice but just not as wonderful as we expected. We are happy to have tried it but not out top pick for Charleston .
Outstanding service, friendly bar staff, knowledgeable waiter, great charcuterie
Delicious food! Fun atmosphere. Really ejoyed our time there.
Perfect experience. The staff were very polite, and not overwhelmingly helpful. It was nice to enjoy my date without a ton of interruptions
We loved our 1st time here! Highly rated & sought after reservations have made it difficult to secure a reservation when we've been in town before. This time made them 1 wk prior & did not disappoint!! Tried several of the yummy specialty brewed beers! Had the charcuterie meats & cheeses for appetizer that was excellent . The hanger steak entree was delicious!!
Will definitely be back!!!
Beautiful space! A little disappointed in the service and a few of the items we ordered. Would probably go back but only for drinks.
As always, superb food and service. Ask for Larissa, she is hands down the best. Be sure to try one of their own beers, they’re sure to surprisingly delight you.
Our second visit and not our last. Robust interesting food and great service. We sat at the bar facing the kitchen and enjoyed the free show.
Cool atmosphere. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent drinks. Menu somewhat limited and a bit to unusual for our taste.
This is one of mine and my husband's favorite special occasion date night spot. The menu is amazing and the ambiance and service are just as incredible. The hanger steak is to die for, and there are several gluten free options that your server is able to tell you about. Their knowledge and care about me being gluten free made me feel at ease about enjoying my meal. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially foodies. One of our top 5!
Perfect as always!
The restaurant was full and very loud. Our waiter was not extremely familiar with the menu and steered us wrong a couple of times. The attentiveness if the staff was exceptional and they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.
Loved the Ramen with friends pop up and of course everything was amazing
Everything from the service to the food was excellent.
Phenomenal experience! The ambiance and menu were stunning and our server Jessica made the night. Great menu knowledge and energy. This place is a must try for foodies of any age. 👌🏽
We went for New Year's Eve and it was perfect. We sat outside and I was concerned it was going to be too cold, but they had heat lamps and heaters at every table and it was actually really warm! The staff was extremely professional, knowledgable of the menu and the cuisine and provided a fantastic experience. The food was phenomenal - we tried a variety of things to share and loved it all. Our favorite was probably the New York Strip Steak. Their high-end cocktails are delicious as well. Definitely a great spot for a special occasion, fancy date night or drinks. We will be back when we're in town again.
Very good food in an interesting venue.
Our favorite place we ate at while in Charleston. The food was top notch and a very good value for the quality. Service was good. The beer selection was great (and so was the quality), maybe a touch pricey. Next time we visit Charleston it will be at the top of the list.
A delightful experience. The staff was very attentive and the food was spectacular. Would recommend the restaurant to people of all ages.
food has changed quite a bit since last year, can't believe they got rid of the shrimp toast it was why i return each visit to charleston.
We enjoyed a flight of Edmunds beers as well as the pickled vegetables, cheese sampler, grilled octopus and pickled shrimp. All were excellent. I could return here multiple times and eat and drink different items every time. Highly recommended.
This is a great restaurant, but we got seated outside on a night when it was really cold, and unlike outdoor 'totally enclosed seating', this is NOT totally enclosed, but simply large blinds that pull down, with inside heat lamps. Sitting outside with air from the outside blowing in is not a great way to enjoy any meal, much less a nice meal that costs...Make sure you get a table inside, unless the temperature outside is one you can be comfortable in....Don't let the hostess 'sell you' on the fact you'll be fine. Outside it was about 38-40 degrees the night we were there, and it was cold, regardless of heat lamps and alcohol consumed. I will go back, because its a great restaurant and brew pub......
The meal was superb - from start to finish!
We ordered three plates and two sides for dinner plus a charcuterie board. Each plate was better than the next. You must try the salt chicken and wreckfish collar. Amazing.
Went two different times over one weekend- one for beer/wine- and the other for xmas eve dinner. The service both times was great, the selection of beers was incredible- and fun- and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!
The wife, the daughter and I started out sharing two small plates.
The Grilled octopus with spicy lentils was tender enough, but lacked heat or any real flavor.
Given that the Mac and peas were made with “curry cheddar cheese”, we were expecting more depth of flavors.
Easily the best dish of the night was the spicy green flounder with a green yogurt pesto. This is a dish that had everything the other dishes lacked. A bit of heat yet refreshing experience on the taste buds. This is a dish I would order again and again
For a tempura dish, the batter on the Tempura flounder and shrimp dish was not crispy. The baked grits and red sauce made this dish even more muddled.
As expected there is a wide variety of beer options. What was surprising however, was the extensive offering of wines and other spirits.
Although we had a great time the meal was a bit underwhelming.
First time to Edmund's Oast and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent and server was very knowledgeable and accommodating to my gluten intolerance. My husband had the Red Wedding cocktail which is just an amazing adventure of a cocktail. We shared three dishes, which was great because it gave us both a chance to taste a wider range of their options. I was thrilled to discover that most of their desserts were gluten free. Definitely plan to return.
A leasurly meal, well served, staff took excellant care of us. Attentive but not interrupting.
Excellent but pricey. Very tasty and fresh. Great beers.
Solidly creative dishes loaded with great flavors and taste.
Excellent beer collection not just loaded with hipster IPA’a but a great variety of all types.
Worth a try and you WILL RETURN!
I️ used to come here all the time when I️ lived in Charleston, so was excited to come back. Ordered the salt chicken and it tasted like lysol. Everything was way too heavily seasoned with some sort of green curry. Did not tell us what cheeses were what. Definitely had me missing their Crab Porridge.
I was looking forward to dining here. Brought my mother from out of the country and had a less than exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived (7 minutes early) we were told they would seat us closer to our reservation time. There was at least 7 tables open an absolutely no one in front of us, so we stood in the cold corner until exactly at 715. Then we waited for 15 minutes for water. Our waiter was automatic and annoying. I have a severe gluten allergy and clearly vocalized this and was told “pretty much” everything was gluten free. When I insisted he ask the chef, only two dishes were recommended. The food was delicious and my mom got a free cup of coffee but our waiter kept say “fantastic “ even when it was a no thank you. I give my hats off to the chef but the entire experience was not worth it. Sadly I will not be returning and will not recommend. Although the food was delicious, I would recommend that either the menu be all little more specific about the poached shrimp as we thought it would be warm and it was cold and a bit “oily”.
Sunday Brunch is always great here!
Visited this weekend and it was incredible as always. I highly recommend Edmund's Oast to anyone looking for a good dinner spot with friends, family, or for a date night.
