   Food was just as good as the Ediths on the Boardwalk apt Granite Park, but the ambiance and service were disappointing.

   First time here since it took over from previous establishment, Bonnie Ruth’s French Bistro. Great re-do of decor, wish the service and food were as well. Hostess was not at her station so waiter stepped up to seat us. After specifically saying anywhere except by the kitchen door he led us right to that table—just before we got there he remembered. Ok. Waiter introduced himself and took my drink order. Waited a VERY long time before a female waiter came to table with drink and said she was taking over as our waiter. I had asked for a cosmopolitan that was more sweet than tart—was not sweet and was not the icy cold you normally get—I was tempted to ask for a few ice cubes. OK. The three of us had appetizers and main dishes, certainly can’t complain that the courses were rushed...but I finally had to ask for some bread, told her I was starving and needed something. Right after she brought it with some awful cheese pimento rather than butter or even an oil, the appetizers came. My escargot had the smallest snails I’ve ever seen and were covered heavily with some herb that did not improve things. Other starters were fine. Main plates were fine. We did not order dessert. Ali was a fun, competent waiter. I think the problem was generalized disorganization and maybe the root cause is a new restaurant that hadn’t worked out the service/kitchen kinks yet. I hope so, because it’s always nice to have a different option in a shopping plaza.

   Loved our waitress! The food was fabulous! I had the avocado Benedict and my friend had the quiche, topped with 2.00 Mimosas and cappuccinos... awesome! The desserts looked so good, but a little pricey. Next time?! Definitely will go again!

   Not like the other Ediths. Beautiful seating for dinner but for lunch we sat right by the napkin/ water station, and it was hard wooden chairs. Man greeter was not friendly. Said I was using open table and he just gave me a look. Chicken was excellent so I will try to give it another try.

   I can not understand why this place isn’t busier. The food and ambiance are wonderful and the service each time I’ve been there has been spot on. The food and atmosphere is such a step above the typical chains in Watters Creek or anywhere in Allen really. And their prices are extremely reasonable especially for Happy Hour. I’ve been here with the family and the ladies and everyone has been happy with the menu choices. And their pastries are not only works of art but just as delicious. So skip those ordinary boring restaurants this week and try Edith’s. I don’t think you will be disappointed. This is the type of restaurant Allen has needed badly - let’s make sure they are here to stay!

    Quite an enjoyable evening! The atmosphere was a pleasure, food was wonderful (although the desserts were a little disappointing. Perhaps we made poor choices) and Miguel,our server, was outstanding! We will certainly be back.
