They cut their servers before our reservation. I didnt get to experience their food.
For an amazing view of the Animas River, you must dine at this restaurant. Although the wait staff seemed to be confused as to whether the dining room was open or not, once it was all straightened out, the view from the small dining room patio was delightful. I would definitely go there again.
The Edgewater Grill was closed to outside bookings when we got there. There was a tour group using the restaurant. They sent us downstairs to the Beer Garden at the Doubletree Hotel. The menu was limited and the food disappointing. When we brought our concerns to the front desk at the Doubletree Hilton in Durango, they were not helpful. Told us the restaurant, which was on their premises, was not part of the Doubletree.
Would never book this restaurant or hotel again.
We had a reservation for Edgewater Grille but when we entered the Doubletree Hotel, they told us it was below by the River. This was really the Animas Beer Garden. Food was good but it was not exactly the dining experience we were looking for.
We sat on the balcony overlooking the beautiful river. Katy (our hostess) was charming ( also stirred up some great cocktails)!
We arrived after a very unfortunate experience at the Durango golf course dining room.
We were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated at a window table over looking the river.
Very relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress was very helpful and made our experience there a very positive one.
The food was really well prepared and the wine list was quite acceptable.
We would definitely recommend Edgewater Grill and would definitely eat there again.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel restaurant. The food and service was great and the breakfast buffet a perfect way to start the day. Watched the Derby in the Animus Lounge, intimate and great woodford old fashion. A really nice place with friendly service and would drive there even if we weren’t staying at the hotel.
This restaurant is in a hotel which I did not know at first. We got there at 5:30 and were seated imedatitlly. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. We had there nachos off the starters menu but be warned they were enough for four people to share. I ordered the market fresh salad with chicken which was very good. My father had thier trout which he said was okay. All in all it was very good and I would recommend giving it a try.
Restaurant was empty. I see why now. Service was terrible!!! Food was terrible!! Overall I would say the worst place we have ever been. I would never recommend this place. Very poor management
Very Bright lighting. Server was nice and professional, but eratic in how often he would visit our table .vs other tables. Was there for Valentines Day dinner. But the lighting was so bright I wouldn't want to eat dinner there again. No intimacy in the atmosphere like a high dollar ($92 for two people) restaurant should have.
This restaurant has a beautiful setting. It could be more than a hotel restaurant. The waitress had one other table than ours and took 10minutes to greet us because she was in a conversation with the only other table. I ordered the salad with salmon. The salmon was so over cooked and the salad was very bland. The waitress did check on us but obviously this is not her calling. It turned out to be a depressing meal in a depressing atmosphere in a restaurant that sits overlooking the Animas River. Where is management? Is the restaurant just a side focus to the hotel? Up your game Doubletree, you’re sitting on a gold mine.
Great restaurant with great view. I would recommend this to anyone! Well priced menu as well.
Dinner menu was very limited. They were out of Sirloin steak, which is difficult to understand because very few diners were present. My ribeye was overcooked for which they deducted the princely sum of $10. They added an 18% gratuity to the check because there were 5 adults and 1 child. Service was unexplainably slow. Not a good experience from entrance to exit. To be avoided for sure.
