Edgar's Above Broad (EAB) is a restaurant and entertainment venue on the third-floor terrace of the Augusta University Building at 699 Broad St., on the corner of Broad St. and 7th Streets in Downtown Augusta.
The indoor-outdoor atmosphere features a custom Airstream-turned gathering oasis for delicious beverages alongside a bocce ball court, and a giant checkers board – plus, canopies, misting machines and heaters making it fit for any season in Georgia.
EAB provides experiential learning opportunities for students in the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts at Helms College, the career college sponsored by Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA. In addition to delivering a great experience for our guests, EAB is part of an organization providing a hand up for people to develop their God-given gifts through education, work and career development services. The staff was courteous and informed us that they were under staffed for the evening. The god did come out in a timely manner but was very underwhelming, dry potatoes, tuna poke lacked flavor, and the crab dip had a fishy flavor but was also bland.

I really like the atmosphere. I wish the menu was a bit more expansive. Really the place is a bar with a limited appetizer menu. No salads, no mains. Even a pasta dish or pizza would be welcome. I love the ethos of the place and it’s connection to Goodwill and commitment to training people.

This was the perfect place to come before heading to a show at the Miller Theater! The hostess Caitlin is always so helpful! I also love playing Trivia on Thursdays there!

dinner was incredible! the music was a bit strange for the setting though... these were the lyrics our family was listening to at 6pm at dinner: Tell your boyfriend not to be mad at me! I wanna, li-li-li-lick you from your head to your toes And I wanna, move from the bed down to the, down to the, to the flo’ Then I wanna, “Ahh ahh,” you make it so good I don’t wanna leave But I gotta kn-kn-kn-know, what-what’s your fan-ta-ta-sy? it was club music, but the sun was up, people were in their collared shirts and enjoying dinner, not grinding to club music. I would definitely come back, as the environment and the food and the service was AWESOME btw. but maybe the music at 11pm isnt the same music played at 5-7pm if possible when the crowd is different, drinking wine and relaxing thank you

The food was served cold to lukewarm, the waiter we had seemed to be confused. I was served champagne in a martini glass, and the water glasses were dirty. The food was awful! One and done with this place.

We really wanted to like Edgars Above Broad but it was disaster from the beginning. We made an outdoor reservation for a special occasion. Our reservation was confirmed twice but when we got there they did not have any tables available. They host just said there was nothing she could do but we could sit in a couch. We decided to try it. We had to wait in line at the bar to get served. While waiting patrons siting at the bar would call people behind us up and then call the bar tenders by name to come over and serve them. The bar staff did which in effect allowed people to jump the line. This happened many times. Our wine came in a whiskey glass which isn't a big deal but does illustrate the disorder. The mixed drinks were weak in flavor and watered down. We left and went to top dog tavern, where we had a great experience and even live music!

Will not go back! The hostess had a bad attitude when I asked why we didn’t have a table outside since that was requested when the reservation was made a month in advance! Had charges on the bill that were not ours!

Tuna Poke was delicious! Next time I will have two orders to suffice as a meal. The “dips” were small, don’t order to share. The artichoke was the best. The sliders were small and only 2 an order. The pretzel and tuna poke were great. We had to request ice cream to go on the “brownie sundae”, but delicious and the crème brûlée was great. Recommend that

Vicky and Michelle were both great. We chose Edgars Above Broad as a semi-casual birthday dinner with 4 guests, and we weren't disappointed. Our meal included a selection of dips with toast points (my favorite is the blue crab, but they were all good), and the wagyu/pork sliders, chicken and waffles, pretzel, and more that I just can't remember. All of the dishes are made to be shared, with even the chicken and waffles coming out as 4 quarters topped with individual boneless chicken tenders. Sharing off or each other's plates serves as a great basis for conversation to keep the table occupied, instead of the alternative of everyone getting lost in their own meal. The price was amazing as well, 4 people, with drinks, and enough food to either eat till stuffed or take home for leftovers, was just a bit over $100. Quality food, an unbeatable open air atmosphere, small portions to mix and match, at a price just-over-cheap, Edgars Above Broad is one of the coolest places in Augusta to visit.

Food is great! Small appetizer style plates were great for a date night of sampling new things. Only disappointed was the potato wedges which were too oily and had very little flavor. Service and ambiance was great. We came in at 5 when they open on Saturday so it was empty and very quiet because there was nobody there.

Food was fairly good, but the staff really needs to be revamped. So many people waiting at the bar for drinks, and only 2 people working who unfortunately looked a bit new at bartending. I’m sure it was overwhelming for them!

The sliders and nachos were excellent. Wings were a little dry. The hostess and bartender were friendly and helpful. Bar drinks were good. Our waiter was a bit less attentive than we would have liked, even though it was not busy. Overall i recommend.

Servers were friendly, but food and drink orders took forever. Not necessarily their fault, but it did affect our experience on this day. Not a big food selection, but our food was good. This place could really take off if they could expand their menu and speed up the service.

I really enjoyed the format of this restaurant - it's a great addition to downtown Augusta. We dined at the interior bar and the servers were attentive and kind. The food was below par - especially compared to the delicious food at Edgar's and their bakery. It seemed to be "a day old" - the pretzel was tough and difficult to tear apart, the cheese dip was kind of cold, the sliders were overcooked and stale tasting and the brisket flatbread was the same. The blue crab dip was good and I recommend that. Maybe it was a bad night and we'll try again.

Reserved a table for 4. Reservation confirmed twice. Was told upon arrival that no table was available and that those who were at the table reserved them ahead of me. After arguing I got a high top table that sits 6. Then no napkins or silverware were provided, (I retrieved them for my group myself). No one came to our table for 20 minutes. Then the food to all my group was finished before mine arrived. Took more than once I had to find my server because she didn’t come by. Had concert tickets and half the group went ahead because I couldn’t get my bill in a timely manner. Left cash on the table and left to make the show. Good quality is good but very small portions for the price. The food, drinks and atmosphere is not enough to make up for terrible service.

The food was excellent but the service was horrible. Our server never spoke to us. She literally just stood at the table and looked at us. She never checked on us so we did not have the opportunity to order additional beverages or get water refills. My friend had been there in the past and had a much better experience so this was disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed the outside seating. The service was excellent. We chose several different items from the menu. All were very flavorful, the sliders were the best I’ve ever had! My only recommendation would be to add signage to designate the entrance to the building and that the restaurant is on the 3rd floor. I look forward to our next visit!

Even though all the restaurants are feeling the stress of the times we’re in right now, EAB handled the crowd with kindness and grace. Just the kind of hospitality we hoped for before going to see a concert at the arena. Fantastic location, great food, excellent drinks, and top notch service. What else could you ask for? Make that reservation!!

My 14, and 8 yr old daughters, and I came into celebrate a late Valentines. I wanted something unique and different; instead of your typical chained steak house. My oldest was impressed with the live music; and the atmosphere was appropriate for them both. The waiter gave my 8 yr old crayons; and was happy with her cheese quesadilla. The food was great! And dessert helped complete or date! Definitely will be back!

Potato wedges were HORRIBLE! Had better wedges at TPS gas station. Chicken wing tasted OK but were TINY. Even the desert was barely passable. Ordered the brownie. Hard as a rock! They swapped it for the cheese cake. Not bad. B. W.
