Excellent dinner at Edesma. As a Greek who just got back a few days ago from Greece, I thought all the food we had was delicious. The Ravasaki and the moussaka were my favorite. Our server, Helen, was attentive and lovely. We had a chance to chat with the owner, Vasili. I wish him and his brother well. Excellent local Greek place. A must try.

This review is like a project as there were basic issues that are so easily improved. —lighting: color too cold. Seemed like “daylight” which is too white and should be reserved for the kitchen and restrooms. A dimmer might help, as well. — close the door on a warm evening — consider splitting the room with a curtain of there are only two tables dining. 8:00 on a Saturday night was not a time to anticipate a sudden rush to fill the entire room. A curtain at the front of the back area (think heavy fabric) can be opened if needed. — menu options: I understand the waste inherent in an under attended restaurant, but one in four availability in the fish section is not acceptable. The salad I ordered was just chopped lettuce, feta, and oil and vinegar. Absent were most of what was listed on the menu. — menu options: Americans love kebabs. I hate to say it, but Americans love anything on a stick! Even if kebabs did not originate in the area of Greece which is the inspiration of the restaurateur, it is a business as well as an experience for the patrons. Somewhere in Greece somebody is eating a kebab. Perhaps it would broaden the appeal, is an easy, quick prep, and is not as perishable as fish. — appreciated the whimsical poster in the men’s room— I have a Golden and actually took a picture of it. However, at a moderate to high moderate price point, flowers and elegance would be a more welcome decor. BTW, the Golden is “seated” in France, so the purism of the menu should not be sacrosanct. — Decor: nice and clean, if not sterile. A painting or two, reflecting Greece should be considered — wine: exceptional for the price — service: attentive, not overbearing — Food: my fiancée loved the branzino, and we have had it at many higher priced establishments on the North Shore, so this truly is a compliment. Update: I can only surmise from the reviews that this is a large extended family!

If you go to one Mediterranean restaurant in the next few weeks, go to Edesma. The restaurant is very understated and tastful. The owner was present and available and the service was excellent. The humus was homemade and authentic, the Prasini salad was delicious and the fish dishes were perfectly seasoned. Overall dinner was surprisingly wonderful.

Authentic Greek delicacies prepared exquisitely to perfection. I have been there 4 times so far this month and even booked my wedding. Vassilis the owner/host has given me an experience to appreciate the Greek food he was accustomed to growing up as a child in Athens, Greece alongside his brother Chef George. These men are peaceful but extremely professional and treat you like you've entered their house for a home cooked meal. They truly care about your opinions and given the chance will share with you briefly on each meal they prepare for your enjoyment. The waitstaff is kind and always attentive. They refilled my water before I even had the chance to finish my current glass a few times during the meal. Sarah has been our waitress and has been very helpful throughout the meal and has an awesome personality! I've ordered multiple dishes during my dinner and the table was cleaned and reset except when Vassilis asked if I wanted more pita to savor the last bit of the Tigania Garlic, White Wine & Oregano sauce! The only true complaint I have is that there are too many amazing dishes to narrow down for my wedding menu... I partially take the blame because I keep ordering and enjoying different ones. Edesma is worth your time and your palette and stomach will appreciate you choosing them. Enjoy!
