Eden on the River
Eating on the river is a great place to go to the restaurant itself was very nice the staff was unbelievable and the food was fabulous plus being on the river it was great
Always a wonderful experience. The food is amazing. The service excellent. Great drink and wine selection. We are not often in St Charles but when we are, this is our go-to.
It was just ok. Fixed menu for Valentine’s Day. The appetizers were best part of the meal. The hummus, ghanoush and mutabal were tasty. Main course was deconstructed kabobs ... shrimp, steak, chicken, salmon & ground beef. Plate came out at room temp ... so not hot. Meats were all over-cooked and dry. Flavors were good. Dessert was a semolina cheese concoction that had a weird texture and not very sweet. Our server was lovely. Food really just, well meh.
Went on Valentine’s Day, and while we weren’t aware there was a fixed menu, we were fine with it. Food was great, as was the service and ambience. The pre fixed menu price seemed a little high, but not unreasonable. We will be back to try other items and the regular menu.
What a wonderful find! First time here. Started off a little shaky when after arriving for our 7:30 reservations, we were told only high tops in the bar area were available but we had reserved in the dining room. Told there might be a wait as they had just gottten a rush. I thought the point of reservations were to reserve what we requested. The rest of the evening made up for the hostesses lack of prep! Food was wonderful! Hummus is our benchmark and it was excellent! I am gluten free and they had a vegetable option, thought my husband said the pita was good. I had the chicken kabobs and they were delicious. Was pleasantly surprised to find the basmati rice was prepared in a Turkish manner - cinnamon!! Not the sweet kind, but rather with heat and spice! A rare find, indeed. Service was good, though sometimes a bit spotty. We had to wait long intervals at times, but waitress was friendly and efficient. We really lucked out with the entertainment! Wonderfully talented couple playing flaminco, spanish and bossa nova!! Perfect volume too! Could enjoy the music but still have a conversation. Really got to grooving when the owner (?) sat in on drum. Can’t imagine a better way to spend a casual Saturday evening! And pleasantly surprised to find we didn’t break the bank! Check for the evening was no more than our usual spending, even though we stayed longer than usual and enjoyed an extra cocktail because we didn’t want to end the evevning. Can’t wait to go back again!
Excellent service and food! Entertainment was also good.
We loved it! Everything was amazing from start to finish, we can't wait to bring the rest of our Lebanese family here!
Aside from the fantastic food , Our waitress was really really good . There were eight of us each ordered something different and shared. Will be going back soon . Loved the view
Great food and a fantastic Latin Jazz Band! It was great to hear the owner playing with the band.
Our group enjoyed the dinner. Shish kabob was really good! Waiter was very average.
What a nice evening - great to see a very good Mediterranean option in this area. Definitely will return soon.
Food was OK. The lamb Shank was actually good but the rice that came with it was dry. Service was very slow and got some orders wrong. The appetizers were really OK. We really like Mediterranean food, but have never had anything quite like this.
Understaffed for sure.... had to wait 15+ mins. upon arrival. Chicken kabobs were cold by the time they were served on the table... seemed the food might have been ready for a while and left in the kitchen....
Food also was very salty.... we had baba ganush, spicey potatoes as well....
Rice was also somewhat dried up....
Might give one more try !!!!
Terrific food and service. Will go again.
Extremely fresh food and an owner who takes pride in what is being served to the customers. Beautiful ambiance.
Looking forward to trying this Mediterranean place. It was a Friday night and had a reservation. Got seated right away. I think they were understaffed. Our waiter finally got our drink order then went behind the bar to make it. Could tell he didn’t really know how to make the “house” drinks. Someone else had to remake a couple of them. Even then no one’s drinks were good. Ordered a bottle of wine from Mediterranean region. It was nice and went with the food well. Appetizers platter was good - recommended. Lamb shank was very good. Steak kabob nicely cooked. Gyro quesadilla- not so much. Stay away from that odd combination. No dessert for us.
Overall it was OK but service wasn’t the best. I think just under staffed a bit. Live music was nice but a little too loud to carry on conversation.
Ambience was nice
The band was nice, food was OK. We had a combo platter and Lamb,Meat was chewy or over cooked. The falafel and garlic sauce was the best I’ve ever had.
Live music, amazing food, and great service! Will come back and highly recommend!
Our server went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. We had grandchildren with us and she brought their dinners right away. We were celebrating a birthday and she brought a special desert that we all enjoyed.
The quality of the food was great but entrees are very pricey for the amount of food received (I finished my entire meal which rarely happens). The decor is pretty cool but it's lacking something... It's just not worth the money, and my primary focus is not typically on the money spent. I'm looking for a great experience and great food but this wasn't it. I doubt we will return.
Very please with the food and service. Nice views of the river and easy to park. I would definietly eat here again.
This place is great! It’s a hidden gem. Great food. Great staff. Love the vibe.
Our server Gabriel was fantastic
I was expecting more after reading the reviews. Our waitress was great, but the busboys continually harassed us and would only pick up one plate at a time. The food was ok. Best part was the combination hummus, baba ghanoush appetizer. Veggies that were included with the meal were one thin slice of zucchini, a sixth of green and red pepper. The basmati rice was good. I had the salmon which again was ok. They kept running out of drinks (sangria, coffee). The baklava was small and very stale. I’ll go to Just Kabobs down the street, if I want Mediterranean food.
1st time dining here. Celebrated a birthday and was incredibly enjoyable! Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly and on top of their game. Now they just need to add pastitsio to the menu and I'll be head over heels!!!
Fresh and delicious food, excellent mojito!!! Fun to dine outside next to river, server was superb👍
Food was not tasty and value was low. Too pricey for the quality of food
The food was excellent! The server could've been more attentive. I asked for a straw 3 times before he brought one. We had to ask for bread. Owner came over and said hello which was very nice. We left before the music started, but I'm sure it was good. Loved sitting by the water. Thought the wine prices were high though.
Confusion over limited table cloices. Did not want a high top. Few tables for 4. Had to be seated next to live entertainment but fortunately we finished just as they finished setting up.
Had a group of 14 set up at the next table with many small children. Our friends enjoyed the bronzino. My kabobs were not as fresh as I thought they would be. Might be worth trying and possibly sitting outside. Even though we had an early reservation we would have had to wait for a table.
We sat outside and it’s just so beautiful there. We all enjoyed our meals. We shared the board appetizer with a variety of hummus and cheese and pita bread. Delicious!
Food was average at best... Kabobs server with one slice of pepper, one slice of squash, and one slice of some other mushy veg... not great. Meat was cooked properly. Appetizers were okay.
We asked for butter and were told the restaurant did not have any?
MANY times a young "helper" came to the table and asked if he could clear our plates while we were clearly still eating???
Always a fun place to go for dinner. Great food and entertainment
The appetizers were better than the entre. I ordered the half chicken, and seemed to be half cooked. Warm at best. Service was slow.
Enjoyed the food. Will be back!
I really enjoyed this place but the live music was way too loud. It was hard to have conversation so I would suggest not amplifying the music. I liked the music a lot and thought the musicians were very talented.
Wrong food order, salads not delivered. Menu is nothing special
Eden on the River never lets us down! The food is fabulous! We didn't come for live music on this last visit but the live music is fantastic! World-class musicians.
Over cooked food, slow service and seemingly understaffed for a Saturday night.
Food is excellent but the service is terrible. If they don't fix it, this place will close like all the others before them in this spot. Such a shame because STC is in need of diverse ethnic cuisines!
We were seated inside and they would drop the dirty dishes in the cart near our table. Very noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation
