Incredible food and service— I’ll definitely be going back!
In town for brunch with my son and he recommended Eden Local. I went with no expectations and hadn't seen a menu before arriving. It was great spot. We also had an 18-month old in tow, so a high chair and the mystery of what she would eat were in question. They handled this perfectly. Our server was wonderful and drinks, food, coffees were all brought out well-timed. There were several wines by the glass, so selection was more than adequate, and the food choices were delicious. I had a variation of eggs Benedict, which was terrific. Everyone else said their dishes were perfect and portions were ample.
I loved Eden Local and will go again!
This place did not disappoint. Try the hummus starter, it was the best I've had. Not only was the food great, the service was top notch as well. Will go back!
Real good easy experience. Great waiter. I hope to go back.
We asked for a booth for the two of us, and were told that the booths are for larger groups. From our table we soon saw two men seated in the booth that we had asked about. Nobody joined them.
The place was noisy and industrial looking. We walked out and had a great lunch at Chez Josephine.
Great spot for a bite before a show at the Signature Theater, which is less than a block away. Modern, small, quiet, and comfortable. Friendly, attentive and unpretentious service. Limited menu, mostly locally-sourced lighter fare, but excellent quality. If you're into meaty, large-plate meals, this probably isn't for you. Best to check out the menu online in advance.
It was fine but odd. My guest asked for her egg to be runny and was told "it's pretty the way we do it." and she didn't get what she wanted. We had had about a 5-minute discussion on it and it still came almost hard boiled. How hard is it to let someone have an egg soft boiled or fried? Customers don't care that you like to plate it a certain way.
Also the place was dead. Maybe to be expected but we were the only people for breakfast for a while. The place next door was much busier. So the atmosphere was non existent.
Excellent discovery in the restaurant wasteland west of Chez Josephine. This candle-lit spot on the ground floor of a boutique hotel will be our go-to dinner choice for Signature Theatre. These carnivores enjoyed the pork belly & the burger, following a beautifully sauced beet appetizer and surprising lentils. Share the organic carrot main dish as a side for the table.
We had a great pre-matinee brunch. Two of us had the hen in the woods omelette and one had the French toast with a nice bottle of New Zealand white wine. We topped it off with creamy cappuccinos. We will be back.
The food and service exceeded my expectations. I planned a brunch on a Saturday for 8 people as part of my birthday celebrations. I had never tried Eden Local before but was intrigued by the healthy menu options and wanted to choose a restaurant in close proximity to the subway stations and Port Authority.
When the host found out it was my birthday, he was gracious enough to bring a bottle of complimentary champagne for the table. When another friend showed up who had recently celebrated a birthday as well, he offered a second. The food was exactly what we had expected, the price points were reasonable, and the staff was exceptional. Everyone was pleased with their meal. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday afternoon but I would definitely be willing to return - perhaps for dinner next time.
We live in the neighbourhood where Eden is located. We had a party of nine and the wait staff were excellent and looked after our every need. The menu was diverse and creative and there was a good cocktail and wine list without it being overbearing.
The restaurant has a nice open feeling and the decor is warm. I would recommend Eden to groups and celebrations.
From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome and appreciated. The staff is exceptional, and the food delicious. I will definitely be back!
This place has potential but it wasn’t on its A game. The server seemed new at his job, not confident in answering our questions about the menu. We had the falafel as an appetizer, which was excellent. Our mains were the cod, which had a sweetness to it that I didn’t care for, and my husband had meatballs and orzo that had a sauce that unfortunately resembled Campbell’s tomato soup. The restaurant has great ambiance and is intimate and cozy. Better service and food would make it a great dining experience.
The food is outstanding here. Really delicious . One of the best falafels I've ever had. Definitely one of , if not the best in the area . Not touristy at all . If you know food - go here.
High quality farm to table food in a well designed, upscale setting.
The food was delicious and healthy. We loved the vegetarian dishes which were interestingly spiced . The music and lighting was perfect with a very good relaxed atmosphere. We could not fault the service and loved the fact that the chef came out to chat to the table....
Searched for brunch with unlimited mimosas... mimosas were $12each and not unlimited. Brunch was very small portions ran an expensive bill not sure on what. Waiter took for ever in a restaurant that was empty to wait on us. I was with tourists who got the impression that typical New York Brunch... ugh!
Great decor! Not necessary for me to go back at all.
Service was TERRIBLE. The host was an absolute joke. Food was inconsistent and the portions were very small. The hamburger was the size of slider and cost $24.
Slow, disorganized, and inefficient service. There was a long line and not a hostess in sight. We had reservations but that didn’t help. The staff seemed friendly but confused. It took them 25 minutes to get us the bill at the end, after asking three times. Food was decent, but not worth the time. Plenty of great restaurants with better service in the area.
Food was good, however slow service. Had to wait significant amount of time even for simple items like coffee and a pastry. Waitress was forgetful.
The host informed us that one of the wait staff hadn’t shown up and therefore we could not be seated for our brunch reservation despite the table being ready and all of us there. We were asked to sit at the lovely bar where we were summarily ignored. Luckily we were in no hurry so ended up eventually enjoying a yummy omelet and delish cup of coffee. The service did not improve, but our expectation at that point was already low. BTW, no coffee refills, so don’t expect to be taking in the lovely ambience during your ample alone time with a continually hot cup of jo.
It is obvious when we went that this place was going through the growing pains of being a new restaurant. The service was awful. The portions were small, which is fine if the food was worth it. It did not live up to expectations. Nothing was terrible but it didn’t live up to the hype. Disappointed.
It was nice to find an organic/local type place in NYC that I haven't tried yet. The food was really tasty, but the portions were pretty small for the price. Also, our waitress was not easy to find. She kept disappearing. The restaurant was not that busy so I don't know exactly what she was doing.
Met here for dinner while in town with my sister and our two teens. My sister and her daughter are gluten-free/dairy and this menu was perfect for them. I also enjoyed a gluten-free, dairy free, vegan dish of roasted carrots and creamy rice. It was hearty and left me stuffed and yet continuing to nibble off of the rice I left on the plate. We were very well tended to by all of the staff! It was quiet enough for us to talk to one another and the table was spacious, not cramped as many NYC restaurants. This place is a gem! Don't miss it!
The menu is diverse and the quality was good. However several of the items had undisclosed nuts in the recipe which ruined the experience, after ordering and tasting.
food was ehhh. I had eggs Benedict. Could have gone to 5 other better places with in 2 blocks
New, Fresh, Committed Chef, Overall it's fun and wonderful for dinner.
We had theater on West 42nd Street, so found this place, didn't realize it was only two months old. As I waiting for the rest of our group I talked with the chef (it was only 6pm, he wasn't yet swamped). He is very committed to local farms, humane treatment of animals, no GMO foods, so on and so forth. He has cooked all over the world and those influences were later evident in his gourmet treatment of "normal" dishes.
We let him suggest-- we had four appetizers, three main courses and two desserts for four of us. Enough food and extremely delicious, beautifully prepared, and interesting.
Lastly, the photos online don't do justice-- the ceilings are at least 14' tall, the place has a very hip & cool vibe, and the waitstaff aims to please.
Worth the five stars. Pricing was very fair.
What a welcome respite Eden Local was on a frigid night! It is a lovely setting in which to enjoy great food with a helpful staff. We were lucky to sample grilled Madagascar shrimp which is not on the menu. There are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy free choices. I would recommend the hummus appetizer, cod entree and pecan pie.
Had a fabulous meal served by Flerida- who a lovely server. She told us that the restaurant just opened in Oct- Our meal was delicious with great presentation. Atmosphere was beautiful with cool, zen-like vibe. Ordered the Açaí Bowl, Farmers Eggs with Bacon, Bagels & Lox, French Toast. Thank you EDEN & Flerida for a wonderful meal.
We didn’t realize this used to be another place we went. The name escapes me. I thought my food was better, I thought the pricing was very all over the place . So all three of my friends got burgers cause they were limited in their food price range. Expanding the menu or choosing how expensive the dinner should average would be helpful.
We walked in a few minutes early for our reservation. I was ignored by the hostess for at least a minute. Our table wasn't ready. Then a couple walked in in a rush and got seated right away. My mother confronted the hostess and was given a brush off response. She was very rude to my mom. So our initial impression wasn't very good. When we finally got seated, the waiter informed us there was no bacon. We were there for brunch, and unfortunately, all I wanted was bacon. I ordered an iced coffee and my mom a tea. A busser walked around to us with a hot tea, which was for my mother and an iced tea. I told her I ordered an iced coffee, and she walked away not leaving my mothers hot tea. A minute later, another girl came 'round with the same tray of drinks! I was annoyed, so I snapped "I ordered an iced coffee and this is the third time I am doing that." Eventually I got my coffee. When my mom's food arrived, there was bacon on the plate! I was excited, so I ordered a side of bacon. A few minutes later the waiter came back and told me I CANNOT have bacon, because they only have enough for the entrees. So I was denied bacon...There seemed to be a lot of confusion in the restaurant generally and it made me anxious the whole time I was there. Basically it was from start to finish the worst experience I have EVER had in ANY restaurant.
Delicious, healthy food! Loved this restaurant and will definitely be back.
Overall experience was good the only complaint I have was that we were seated on a table I really disliked and I asked twice to please move us to another table and we were kind of ignored about the request so that was a little uncomfortable for me because when I go to a good restaurant besides enjoying the great food I also want to enjoy where I’m seating..... Food was amazing.....
The whole table raved about their entrees. And the sole, which was the special, was to die for...
Can't wait to try their brunch
Good food and really bad service
Service is so bad. I’ve waited 30 mins for a coffee and they get me the wrong thing. Nobody refills your water. The check took so long as well and they gave me the wrong check.
Great Food and Great Experience! Highly recommend this to anyone!
Loved the food but cannot say much at all for the service.
Delicious locally sourced food, terrible service (the waiter disappeared for long stretches). But the food makes it worth the slow service as long as you aren’t in a rush. Everything seemed very fresh...shaved Brussels sprouts salad and beet salad were big enough to share amongst the 4 of us. Chicken, fish, burger, and vegetarian entrees were all tasty...we cleaned our plates.
