This was the second in time in a week that I had reservations at Eden local and in both cases while the food was good the service was terrible.
In our most recent experience, the waiter did not approach us until 15 minutes after we were seated. Once he arrived he was unfamiliar with the menu. When we ordered there was no silverware on the table, which only arrived after the food was served and we asked him to bring us utensils. Further, at the same time he brought the silverware, he gave us the the check for our meal. While the restaurant is convenient for us due to the proximity from where we live, I cannot consider returning unless the service issue is addressed and preferably overhauled.
Food was amazing. However our service was very slow.
Great food and service!!
Had the Impossible Burger--DELICIOUS
The Impossible Burger is only available in just a few restaurants (and not for retail purchase). Can't believe it is all plant based -- absolutely delicious cheeseburger. Worth traveling back to location to have again!
Food was excellent, although fairly pricey. Service was not good. Waiter seemed to be stretched thin and not well trained. When I asked him to describe one of the wines, he answered “I don’t know, I don’t drink.” The host also seemed super relaxed in a way that doesn’t match the price point or the quality of the food. Things came out in a somewhat uncoordinated way.
WE became aware that Eden Local had opened where KTCHN had been. This is a favorite spot of ours because of its proximity to Signature Theater.
The food was wonderful. For 3 of us, we had the guacamole, a Greek salad, the OG burger, Grilled Salmon and the Pork chop. and 3 desserts. All fabulous and priced fairly. Those who had wine said the wine was good.
They still have to get their act together with the wait staff (our waiter was only there a week, didn't know the menu well, but was so nice and charming about it and getting the info and getting our orders correctly that we forgave him easily and wish him the best). To be truthful the most professional was the busboy. We got there early (pre-theater) and were shown to perhaps the worst table in the place where 2 seats faced the swinging kitchen doors. We changed tables but this to me is unacceptable hosting
The food was so good though that, by the time we left, we forgave all faux pas and will return!
Great food and great mixed drinks mixed with a great atmosphere.
Comfortable sitting area for our party of 8. Service was slow and lacked attention. Food was good but for the price, the items were very small. Had brunch and the omelettes were much smaller than in other NYC restaurants but more expensive at $19. Waiter didn't bring other coffees although requested for over 30 min. Never came around to see if we needed more coffee. Someone in our party ordered a side of broccolini and it didn't come until way after we finished eating. We asked for it several times and was even told it was "coming right out" but it didn't for at least 5 more minutes. We will never go back to this restaurant.
Food was great but took forever to get things and even getting the check took sooo long
branzino was a bit overpriced for the flavor (~$40)
Food was interesting tasty and well done. Service was confusing. The manager decided to service, then completely forgot about us And none of the waiters could figure out even how to give us our bill or anything else.
nice little place with amazing cocktails and order seating!
The food is very good. The pasta is delicious. The problem is the service. Drinks didn't come for a long time, the waiter was totally unfamiliar with the menu. I am vegetarian. Asked if veggie burger had mushrooms. He snidely responded that it's mostly grain. I'm allergic so I asked him to track and sure enough it did have mushrooms. I told him I'm vegetarian and he suggested a pasta for me which ended up coming out with bacon. my friend asked for a Greek salad and got kale which she doesn't eat. So although the food is good I'm not sure I would recommend going there
This place is a great option for the theater district. It’s about one block out of the craziness of the Times Square scene. Great, fresh ingredients. I read that the Chef goes to farmers markets 3x a week. The seating was spacious. I liked the large, high back booths. Very attentive and prompt service. Everything felt clean and new. I would’ve liked to have seen more vegan choices, but there were plenty of vegetarian and interesting meat dishes.
A superb dining experience at this low key gem of a new restaurant! Plan to return repeatedly!
The ambiance & setting are great. Definitely worth come to for a drink / bite to eat. After my second brunch here though I'll probably stop coming for full meals. The food is very average..
Small portions, food wasn't that great, very expensive for what it was.
We decided to head to EDEN local because we were catching a show that night and did not want to be at a totally tourist destination. We arrived at 6:30 and there was a private party in the front bar. The space is quite large so it didn't make a dent in what was available to other patrons. There is also outside seating out front where several customers were taking advantage of the first warm day NYC has had in a while! It took quite a while for the waiter to locate our requested wine. So long in fact that we ordered and got our food at the same time as the wine. (Food came out lightning fast.) We had ordered several dishes as we love a good farm to table restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised how flavorful and well presented they were. We had the shishito peppers which had a hint of curry and cinnamon, smashed potates, Tuna crudo, roasted heirloom carrots, Broccolini with lemon and the gem lettuce salad. Everything had that one unexpected ingredient that made a simple dish more elevated and delicious. It's a great spot for large groups- we will definetiely back next time we have a show! (or large get together!)
I was so glad we chose this restaurant! More healthy offerings than most around Times Square, the food was really good, and it was nice and quiet too. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Food was incredible. Sat at the bar and service was amazing. Only compliant was the noise level and the music. Was too loud and was difficult to carry on a conversation.
Food was below average for above-average price. The ambiance was great but not worth the price points.
Julio was a perfect server. This was my first time here and I’ve already made my reservation to come back.
This has to be the worst restaurant experience I have encountered in a very long time. I am a vegetarian and went to Eden Local based on their menu which had numerous vegetarian items for dinner. I was looking forward to going there. Based on all of the choices I was not sure what I was going to order as I liked so many dishes that were offered. When I got there and looked at the menu it was totally different and it concentrated almost all on meat items. I asked the waiter and he said there was a new chef, however the menu had the same chef's name as the old menu so this was not true. I then asked the manager why they would not update their website with the accurate menu and he said it had just changed four days ago. I just looked again and it is still the old menu. I had virtually no options and settled on a pasta dish which was just okay. My boyfriend's daughter ordered a Greek salad which had to be sent back as the main ingredient were tomatoes, I have never seen a Greek salad like this. The restaurant should have been ashamed to serve this. On top of this I waited a half hour for bread, I had to remind the waiter several times. When the bill came there was a charge for the bread. There was not any mention of a charge. The service was awful and the restaurant was not crowed. I can't imagine this restaurant being in existence much longer. I have to say this is the worst review I have ever given a restaurant and it is totally deserved .
We had burgers (veggie and truffle) and both were excellent. Unfortunately the service was horrible. Our server was disinterested, failed to put in our order (which led to a 1 hour wait for burgers), took 20 minutes to get our bill and was barely apologetic. The tables around us were also very annoyed with him. For the price of this restaurant, bad service is not acceptable.
I loved the ambiance and the service was wonderful. It is pricey and a-la-carte so be ready for that. Also, know the menu is not the same as online. The fish was very good, however, I asked if they could remove the skin and the chef refused. Every fish they served had skin which quite honestly I find disturbing and cannot deal with. I am pescatarian and there really was no other choice for me, it was extremely disappointing that a chef would not accommodate something this simple for a customer. It is really my biggest critique. I had a lovely night and the flavors were great. But know ahead that the chef is not accommodating.
Food was delicious....service not so much. It took about 15 minutes for our drinks, entrees were brought out while we were still eating Apps.
Good food; special order Hen-of-Woods mushrooms were great. Sangria was more like wine cooler. Service was a little slow; music a little loud but the accommodating nature of our server for a special request was appreciated
The service was really poor. It was clear that the kitchen couldn’t handle multiple orders. The poor birthday boy didn’t get his food until 30 min after everyone else got theirs. Good potential, but they need to work out the kinks in the kitchen and get more qualified wait staff.
My son and I stopped there to have a quick lunch after an event at the Javits and could not have been happier with our choice. Fresh food, prepared without gimmicks or artifice. We were also pleased with the attentive and quick service. Go there!
We had friends in from out of town to see a broadway show and looked for something close by to grab a bite before the show. This was a find. The food and staff were awesome. So tasty and unique foods. You will love it.
Incredible food and service— I’ll definitely be going back!
In town for brunch with my son and he recommended Eden Local. I went with no expectations and hadn't seen a menu before arriving. It was great spot. We also had an 18-month old in tow, so a high chair and the mystery of what she would eat were in question. They handled this perfectly. Our server was wonderful and drinks, food, coffees were all brought out well-timed. There were several wines by the glass, so selection was more than adequate, and the food choices were delicious. I had a variation of eggs Benedict, which was terrific. Everyone else said their dishes were perfect and portions were ample.
I loved Eden Local and will go again!
This place did not disappoint. Try the hummus starter, it was the best I've had. Not only was the food great, the service was top notch as well. Will go back!
Real good easy experience. Great waiter. I hope to go back.
We asked for a booth for the two of us, and were told that the booths are for larger groups. From our table we soon saw two men seated in the booth that we had asked about. Nobody joined them.
The place was noisy and industrial looking. We walked out and had a great lunch at Chez Josephine.
Great spot for a bite before a show at the Signature Theater, which is less than a block away. Modern, small, quiet, and comfortable. Friendly, attentive and unpretentious service. Limited menu, mostly locally-sourced lighter fare, but excellent quality. If you're into meaty, large-plate meals, this probably isn't for you. Best to check out the menu online in advance.
It was fine but odd. My guest asked for her egg to be runny and was told "it's pretty the way we do it." and she didn't get what she wanted. We had had about a 5-minute discussion on it and it still came almost hard boiled. How hard is it to let someone have an egg soft boiled or fried? Customers don't care that you like to plate it a certain way.
Also the place was dead. Maybe to be expected but we were the only people for breakfast for a while. The place next door was much busier. So the atmosphere was non existent.
Excellent discovery in the restaurant wasteland west of Chez Josephine. This candle-lit spot on the ground floor of a boutique hotel will be our go-to dinner choice for Signature Theatre. These carnivores enjoyed the pork belly & the burger, following a beautifully sauced beet appetizer and surprising lentils. Share the organic carrot main dish as a side for the table.
We had a great pre-matinee brunch. Two of us had the hen in the woods omelette and one had the French toast with a nice bottle of New Zealand white wine. We topped it off with creamy cappuccinos. We will be back.
The food and service exceeded my expectations. I planned a brunch on a Saturday for 8 people as part of my birthday celebrations. I had never tried Eden Local before but was intrigued by the healthy menu options and wanted to choose a restaurant in close proximity to the subway stations and Port Authority.
When the host found out it was my birthday, he was gracious enough to bring a bottle of complimentary champagne for the table. When another friend showed up who had recently celebrated a birthday as well, he offered a second. The food was exactly what we had expected, the price points were reasonable, and the staff was exceptional. Everyone was pleased with their meal. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday afternoon but I would definitely be willing to return - perhaps for dinner next time.
