Our waitress was incredibly slow and didn't come to check on us. The food was disappointing. My crabcake Benedict was so fishy, I couldn't eat it. I would of said something to the waitress but she didn't come by again. Avocado toast had 2 tiny slices of avocado on it. Too many amazing brunch places in the city to eat here, skip this restaurant.
Service was very slow. Food was adequate. Restaurant was dark and loud.
Healthy and fresh. Tasted great and a surprising variety
This restaurant has everything going for it - great space, great decor, great people watching, decent bar, but the food and service will never cut it in this neighborhood. In this part of town you have to be on point with the food and service or you won't make it. The food at Eden is average at the very best. Food was over salted, under-cooked and overall under-whelming. The server was absolutely awful. Unless there are massive changes to the kitchen and service training, we will not be back.
The food was ridiculously overpriced for the tiny bowl of pasta. And who puts crab in pasta with the shell still on? We were fishing shell bits out of our food the entire time.
Update: Eden just CLOSED! So disappointed.... Food was excellent. Design stylish, comfortable, not cramped. Service was slow, but extremely personable, friendly and insightful. Do go if you have a deadline or curtain to make... but if looking for leisurely dining with good friends I highly recommend.
Good spot, good food. Nice for geoup brunch in the area.
This was a surprising find. I had some friends in town and needed a place near 42nd Street where they were staying. I hadn't been to Eden Local but the menu looked good. And it turned out to be so - the food was great, the atmosphere was great, the waitress and other servers were very attentive and personable, and the maître d' was very nice. I will definitely return to this restaurant for pre theater or other dining.
The food, atmosphere and service were excellent! I am definitely going back.
I'm gluten free and like fine dining with healthy food; Eden fit the bill. At first I wasn't sure there were many gluten free options, but there ended up being quite a few. We ordered appetizers and a vegetable side dish and were very happy with the quality of the food and service. I'm a personal chef and would go back.
Seems like they only have 2 waiters working, everything was taking our waitress forever to do, we payed our check for 30 mins.
Food was delicious and the chef brought our group out a huge plate of fresh fruit to snack on after we ordered!!! It was fantastic! The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fun! I’d definitely go back!
Overall good value and food and friendly service
Great staff and excellent menu choices. The food was fresh and delicious. Definitely will be returning!
The restaurant was pretty empty which we attributed to Memorial Day weekend. The experience was subpar, I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again. The bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock, which I have never experienced before but wouldn’t have been memorable if so many other things hadn’t been off. I chose this restaurant over others because the impossible burger looked great. Turns out this is a veggie burger. It is not clear anywhere on the menu that it’s a veggie burger. I ordered the beef burger and my boyfriend ordered the rib eye. We both ordered our meals medium and they arrived rare. Normally I wouldn’t send food back but a rare burger concerned me. The same exact burger was recooked, I found this strange. I would think a restaurant would remake a burger that had already been cut into rather than throwing the same one back on the grill after it has left the kitchen. The vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant was spot on but the rest of the experience was strange, down to the confusing bathroom door which does not indicate which side it opens on, if you need to push it or slide it, etc. We also ordered the lamb meatballs which were nice but small and overpriced. In the end, boyfriend and I both left feeling a little sick to our stomachs.
The food was amazing and Chrystal our server was absolutely fantastic. Thank you!
I made a reservation but there was no host at the front for about 5 minutes before I had to get the attention of a worker at the bar. Even after I asked someone, a worker did not come to seat us or even apologize for that for another couple of minutes. From the looks of it, the restaurant was half empty so I guess they were short staffed, but at least apologize.
We were finally seated but for the rest of the hour or so we were there, our waiter was not very welcoming and never checked in on how we were doing or if we needed anything in between. I had to flag down another server who was actually way more attentive and helpful than our actual waiter! I felt so bad we bothered him a few times with requests (for water and hot sauce) that we had asked our own waiter who never showed up with either! Wish we could have left HIM the tip, since he was the only helpful one during our whole dining experience.
This was my second time at this restaurant for brunch. The first time, their menu seemed to have some more variety, but this time around, I ordered the Eggs Benedict but half of my plate looked really empty. Presentation does make a difference if you're going to charge me $17 for a lonely plate of 2 thin english muffin with egg on top and a side of undercooked home fries.
The restaurant is clean and I appreciate the spacious feel, but I most likely will not be going again. Such a shame too since it seemed like a good neighborhood brunch spot I could have frequented had it not been for this overall experience. Service is everything!
This was the second in time in a week that I had reservations at Eden local and in both cases while the food was good the service was terrible.
In our most recent experience, the waiter did not approach us until 15 minutes after we were seated. Once he arrived he was unfamiliar with the menu. When we ordered there was no silverware on the table, which only arrived after the food was served and we asked him to bring us utensils. Further, at the same time he brought the silverware, he gave us the the check for our meal. While the restaurant is convenient for us due to the proximity from where we live, I cannot consider returning unless the service issue is addressed and preferably overhauled.
Food was amazing. However our service was very slow.
Great food and service!!
Had the Impossible Burger--DELICIOUS
The Impossible Burger is only available in just a few restaurants (and not for retail purchase). Can't believe it is all plant based -- absolutely delicious cheeseburger. Worth traveling back to location to have again!
Food was excellent, although fairly pricey. Service was not good. Waiter seemed to be stretched thin and not well trained. When I asked him to describe one of the wines, he answered “I don’t know, I don’t drink.” The host also seemed super relaxed in a way that doesn’t match the price point or the quality of the food. Things came out in a somewhat uncoordinated way.
WE became aware that Eden Local had opened where KTCHN had been. This is a favorite spot of ours because of its proximity to Signature Theater.
The food was wonderful. For 3 of us, we had the guacamole, a Greek salad, the OG burger, Grilled Salmon and the Pork chop. and 3 desserts. All fabulous and priced fairly. Those who had wine said the wine was good.
They still have to get their act together with the wait staff (our waiter was only there a week, didn't know the menu well, but was so nice and charming about it and getting the info and getting our orders correctly that we forgave him easily and wish him the best). To be truthful the most professional was the busboy. We got there early (pre-theater) and were shown to perhaps the worst table in the place where 2 seats faced the swinging kitchen doors. We changed tables but this to me is unacceptable hosting
The food was so good though that, by the time we left, we forgave all faux pas and will return!
Great food and great mixed drinks mixed with a great atmosphere.
Comfortable sitting area for our party of 8. Service was slow and lacked attention. Food was good but for the price, the items were very small. Had brunch and the omelettes were much smaller than in other NYC restaurants but more expensive at $19. Waiter didn't bring other coffees although requested for over 30 min. Never came around to see if we needed more coffee. Someone in our party ordered a side of broccolini and it didn't come until way after we finished eating. We asked for it several times and was even told it was "coming right out" but it didn't for at least 5 more minutes. We will never go back to this restaurant.
Food was great but took forever to get things and even getting the check took sooo long
branzino was a bit overpriced for the flavor (~$40)
Food was interesting tasty and well done. Service was confusing. The manager decided to service, then completely forgot about us And none of the waiters could figure out even how to give us our bill or anything else.
nice little place with amazing cocktails and order seating!
The food is very good. The pasta is delicious. The problem is the service. Drinks didn't come for a long time, the waiter was totally unfamiliar with the menu. I am vegetarian. Asked if veggie burger had mushrooms. He snidely responded that it's mostly grain. I'm allergic so I asked him to track and sure enough it did have mushrooms. I told him I'm vegetarian and he suggested a pasta for me which ended up coming out with bacon. my friend asked for a Greek salad and got kale which she doesn't eat. So although the food is good I'm not sure I would recommend going there
This place is a great option for the theater district. It’s about one block out of the craziness of the Times Square scene. Great, fresh ingredients. I read that the Chef goes to farmers markets 3x a week. The seating was spacious. I liked the large, high back booths. Very attentive and prompt service. Everything felt clean and new. I would’ve liked to have seen more vegan choices, but there were plenty of vegetarian and interesting meat dishes.
A superb dining experience at this low key gem of a new restaurant! Plan to return repeatedly!
The ambiance & setting are great. Definitely worth come to for a drink / bite to eat. After my second brunch here though I'll probably stop coming for full meals. The food is very average..
Small portions, food wasn't that great, very expensive for what it was.
We decided to head to EDEN local because we were catching a show that night and did not want to be at a totally tourist destination. We arrived at 6:30 and there was a private party in the front bar. The space is quite large so it didn't make a dent in what was available to other patrons. There is also outside seating out front where several customers were taking advantage of the first warm day NYC has had in a while! It took quite a while for the waiter to locate our requested wine. So long in fact that we ordered and got our food at the same time as the wine. (Food came out lightning fast.) We had ordered several dishes as we love a good farm to table restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised how flavorful and well presented they were. We had the shishito peppers which had a hint of curry and cinnamon, smashed potates, Tuna crudo, roasted heirloom carrots, Broccolini with lemon and the gem lettuce salad. Everything had that one unexpected ingredient that made a simple dish more elevated and delicious. It's a great spot for large groups- we will definetiely back next time we have a show! (or large get together!)
I was so glad we chose this restaurant! More healthy offerings than most around Times Square, the food was really good, and it was nice and quiet too. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Food was incredible. Sat at the bar and service was amazing. Only compliant was the noise level and the music. Was too loud and was difficult to carry on a conversation.
Food was below average for above-average price. The ambiance was great but not worth the price points.
Julio was a perfect server. This was my first time here and I’ve already made my reservation to come back.
This has to be the worst restaurant experience I have encountered in a very long time. I am a vegetarian and went to Eden Local based on their menu which had numerous vegetarian items for dinner. I was looking forward to going there. Based on all of the choices I was not sure what I was going to order as I liked so many dishes that were offered. When I got there and looked at the menu it was totally different and it concentrated almost all on meat items. I asked the waiter and he said there was a new chef, however the menu had the same chef's name as the old menu so this was not true. I then asked the manager why they would not update their website with the accurate menu and he said it had just changed four days ago. I just looked again and it is still the old menu. I had virtually no options and settled on a pasta dish which was just okay. My boyfriend's daughter ordered a Greek salad which had to be sent back as the main ingredient were tomatoes, I have never seen a Greek salad like this. The restaurant should have been ashamed to serve this. On top of this I waited a half hour for bread, I had to remind the waiter several times. When the bill came there was a charge for the bread. There was not any mention of a charge. The service was awful and the restaurant was not crowed. I can't imagine this restaurant being in existence much longer. I have to say this is the worst review I have ever given a restaurant and it is totally deserved .
