Eden Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at Eden, but definitely not our last. Every dish was prepared with thought and care, using herbs grown on site in their greenhouse. The menu is varied and creative and dishes can be shared to have more variety. We loved the chestnut tortellini, very tender and fresh pasta and herbs. Also enjoyed the grilled octopus and the lentil brik was outstanding. So many flavors that compliment each other. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes, fit for fine dining. We can't wait to come back and bring other guests with us. Highly recommended!
Our first visit to this one-year old restaurant, and we will return. There were good vegetarian options for my wife, and plenty for me, the carnivore. The lamb & beef meatballs starter was great, although a little heavy on salt. The crispy chicken main was fantastic! I can't wait to eat my way down the list of meaty mains on subsequent visits. Like many restaurants, they could improve on non-alcoholic drink offerings beyond 3-4 choices of bagged teas, and iced tea and coke-type products.
This restaurant is underrated and has very flavorful dishes. It is generally easy to get a table, and the warm/sunny decor makes for a comfortable ambiance. This is also within walking distance of the United Center and excellent for business meals before sporting events.
Food was great and the service was excellent. They did lose my hat and gloves so not sure I'm pleased about that. I would recommend anyone wanting a good dining experience in the west loop where you can hear you friends and haves conversation without straining your vocal cords.
Not only was the food very creative and delectable, the staff were absolutely delightful, from the bartender to the manager, to the wait staff and even the bus girl. I was completely entertained and had a wonderful evening! I thought the wine was overpriced, otherwise everything was just perfect. I hope I get to come back again sometime but live 2.5 hours away...
Really wanted to like Eden more than we did. The menu was what drew us in, but, unfortunately, a couple of items were a little disappointing.
After so many reviewers suggesting to try the umami doughnutsm, we did. Simply did not care for the contrasting flavors and a bit too much heat for what we were expecting. Definitely different, though. The lasagna main course tasted good at first bite, but, about halfway through became too much of the same note over and over. Didn't really resemble lasagna either so manage your expectations if you order this.
The best dish of the night was the baby octopus which was tender, flavorful, and kept you interested start to finish.
Although we were a bit underwhelmed this visit, we would still want to give it another try. High marks for service and free off-street parking.
The team made my sister and family feel so special. They said the customer service was incredible and the staff was beyond friendly. I look forward to stopping by myself and experiencing what they did. My recently engaged sister and her future in-laws really enjoyed the experience.
Had a great time with friends enjoying the delicious food, the amazing cocktails and attentive staff. Fresh ingredients from their onsite climate controlled growhouse made the food even more incredible when it hit my taste buds. Will be back for sure! Picture is their Baby Gem Caesar Salad with grilled pork belly.
When I go for brunch, I just have to have eggs. It’s my thing and if your eggs aren’t good, forget it. The soft-scrambled eggs at Eden were pretty darned good but the filling was a little too loose for my taste. The server had actually recommended getting the grits instead and I wish I had gotten them but... next time! I will also say that the soft scramble was really lightly seasoned in comparison to my friends dish - the seasonal omelette, which was really good, but just a tad salty (and I LOVE salt). The server did a great job overall making sure we had everything we needed, tho he forgot to put in our order for the chicken sausage and ended up giving it to us gratis. Thank goodness it did finally come because it was sooooo good! I highly recommend adding a side of it if your meal doesn’t come with any! I love that they have a parking lot, which is necessary since it’s out of the way, and that they didn’t make me wait to be seated before my friend arrived. Overall great experience and will definitely be back to try more!
My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. The staff was exceptional. They offered us champagne. The food was very good. The doughnuts were a great choice. We both had Caesar salad, unusual version with goat cheese but we both liked it. Wife had lamb myself the chicken balantine. Both were awesome. Wife had deep chocolate myself strawberry shortcake outstanding.
While I've been to their brunch a number of times and loved it this was my first dinner experience. We took my brother for his 25th birthday and had a wonderful time! Everyone at Eden is so warm and friendly, our server was genuinely excited about the menu and our water glasses were never empty. My husband and brother both had the lamb and loved it! The pork umami doughnuts were a big hit with the table, and, while I'm not a vegetarian, I absolutely loved the lentil brik! I've never had anything like it! We will definitely be back soon, so many more dishes to try!
Came into Eden before the Bulls game because I’ve heard amazing things about their game day burger. Holy cow, it is amazing. Homemade cheddar cheese, tomato jam and PORK BELLY topper! I even found out their bun is homemade in house, yes please. My friend and I each got the burger and then split the Caesar salad and ordered a few of their craft cocktails. Everything was incredible! We even left our car in their parking lot and walked over to game, only a few blocks. What we would have spent in parking right at the stadium we got to spend on killer food. Our waiter was great too, we told him that we were going to the game and they made sure we were out in time to be there! What a great experience. Looking forward to going back and trying other things on the menu.
Came to Eden for dinner with my partner, and was so impressed! The food was incredible, packed with so much flavor and our waiter was so friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to order. We ended up getting a bunch of plates to share, including the broccoli, carrots and tuna crudo – we loved how fresh and flavorful everything was. My favorite was my entrée, the Market Fish, like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. We had cocktails, yum! Though I should mention they have quite the wine list. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem and not to be missed!
Overall it was average. The space is cute and simple, the food presentation is attractive, but nothing we sampled had much flavor. For a ladies night out, we ordered ample plates from the different sections and none of us polished off any of the dishes. That's unusual for us. The service was too laid back - we had to flag down the server to get attention for drinks, to order, and to request more drinks. With so many other lovely spots in the area - I do not recommend.
We chose Eden for post-church brunch with my in-laws and I cannot say enough great things about our experience. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was friendly and attentive. Our table wobbled when we sat down and someone noticed and fixed it immediately. We were immediately offered drinks and the tastiest options on the menu. Our waiter seemed genuinely excited to tell us about what they were serving and how it was made. It made me happy to have someone share so excitedly about the menu - we knew we made the right choice for brunch. The food was PHENOMENAL and the culinary talent that lives here is out of this world. Such care went into the details of our food - every bite was incredible.
Of all of the things that would attract someone here, aside from the above, I would have to say that Eden sold me on the fact that they have PARKING. As someone who has family out of the city and friends with kids that need a convenient brunch spot, parking is like GOLD in the city. We have a hard time getting visitors because driving into the city scares them (haha). This place is perfect for anyone wanting to get their parents in town for a weekend brunch visit.
All things considered, Eden is my new favorite restaurant in the city. I hear dinner is unbelievable, so we will certainly return soon for what I'm sure will be another perfect dining experience.
