Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Warrenville Ratings and Reviews
all of our meals were not prepared as ordered-- the three meat dishes were under cooked and one was then returned and returned too well done. Our server disappeared after the order was placed. we had to ask another server to help deal with the meals that were sent back. while the issues of the orders were the kitchens fault our original server never apologized or took responsibility for his lack of service and followup. The manager was very helpful and apologetic. I was very pleased with his quick response and how he handled a very unfortunate kitchen situation and very poor service which shouldn't happen at any restaurant especially one charging the prices this one does .
Service started out excellent and as the restaurant busy it got worse and we felt neglected. The point of two servers is to ensure this doesn’t happen however we never even met the second server.
Food was excellent
Ambiance was great
Overall, great experience.
We made reservations to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary on 2/2/18. We had requested (and it occurred) a table by the Fireplace near the Bar area and the ambiance for the evening was perfect for us. I had lamb chops and my wife had the filet - drinks were great as usual and the food and service were terrific. With all of the restaurants available in the Naperville area this one is our favorite and this visit confirmed our preference.
I'm all for blowing a couple hundred bucks on fine dining, but the restaurant needs to deliver on the value. Eddie Merlot's didn't deliver a meal commensurate with the price.
Started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail appetizer because of its handmade, fresh horseradish sauce. The sauce was closer to ketchup than spicy cocktail sauce. Try St Elmo's in Indianapolis if you want great cocktail sauce.
Next came the french onion soup which was a bit too rich (ie, cooked too long) for my taste. Should have been a bit more broth-like.
Spilt the enormous iceberg salad into two for two people and it was just the right proportion.
The filet was quite good.
The lemon drop martini was terrible. No booze and too much syrup.
Overall, ok dining, but for the price, won't be back again. Too many other options available to visit there anytime soon.
Perfect service, great wine and steaks. The staff is friendly and efficient and make the whole experience enjoyable. We didn't want to leave. The guitar player (I think just Fri & Sat) does a wide range of fun songs and came to our table for requests. Great fun for a couple of couples.
With a reservation we had to wait 20 minutes for our table to be ready. Once we didn't order alcohol we were completely ignored by our waiter, watching him schmooze other tables. We went for a special New Years Eve dinner, and left feeling like we wasted $100. The waiter didn't bring out our food, refill our waters, and when we were done, our food sat for over 10 minutes. Here's my tip for our waiter, Troutman, have some customer service.
Celebrated news year eve. Had to wait about 20 minutes for our reservation but a very nice evening. Chateaubriand was great! And loved cauliflower au gratin. Service very attentive and friendly. Seated in the bar area. Might ask next time for main dining but on news year eve it was fine. Great guitarist to liven the evening
Went on New Years eve, order pork chops, suppose to the 16 oz. Was one small pork chop, was surprised it wasn't two. Onion soup have a small amount of cheese.
Realize it was New Years eve, but there food was not up to what we had on several previous visits, looks like another Resturant has gone down hill.
We had a remarkable experience at Eddie Merlot's on NYE 2017. Our server was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. She suggested we try the candied bacon appetizer and it was delicious. She also told us about the Wylarah-wagyu beef that my husband tried. We might never order any other steak again. The Eddie's chopped salad is enough to get us back if it was the only thing on the menu. We ended with baked alaska - YUM! We felt pampered all night.
