Meh at best. Oysters still attached, filet was over salted, sea bass was farm raised. Our server seemed overworked and preoccupied the entire time. We spent $300 for our meal and left feeling like we wasted our hard earned money.

We have dined here several times previously and have never been disappointed. We started our dinner off with the meat and cheese tray appetizer. From there the main course and sides were exceptional. Ted the manager was very attentive as was our server. We finished off our meal with a delicious carrot cake.

It was a wonderful dinner, staff was great. My disappointment was that I had an email advertising Monday specials, which we were looking forward to. When we arrived, we were told that it was a typo-so we didn’t get what we went for. It’s still a wonderful place, and the people there are very friendly. Wish they had sent a follow up email when they learned the mistake they had made. Food was still good.

I've been here 4 times now. The first visit was outstanding. It felt refreshing to be in an upscale environment in the suburbs with attentive, professional servers who anticipated our every need. Each visit has been a bit less satisfying, with this final visit a total disappointment. Mostly, it was the service on this visit.
Our server was borderline rude in 2 instances. We were rushed to the point of astonishment, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. We even asked not to be rushed and she ignored our request.
Our waters were refreshed only once; luckily the service station was nearby so we helped ourselves all evening long. I was not offered a second drink. My friends poured their own wine, as the empty glasses were ignored. I had forgotten to request no tomatoes on my salad (I'm allergic) and, not knowing that my main course salad would come out with the other side salads, I asked if it was too late to make the request. The server said, "Umm, yup" and put it in front of me loaded with tomatoes. My fault, but not the response I would have hoped for in an upscale venue.
It was my friend's birthday and the server unceremoniously dropped a lovely dessert in front of her while others were still eating - without asking if any of us would like a dessert or coffee so we could eat together. We ordered 2 french presses but she brought only one and said she'd bring more if we needed it ($20 for the coffee). And, she was snippy when I asked for another cream/sugar/whipped cream setting. As we neared closing time our server sat at the bar, glancing at us but never coming back to see if we wanted anything else. In fact, she closed out or bills when one of our party had said she was planning on ordering a brandy.
All in all some of the food was good, some was just ok. We were all stunned and disappointed. I no longer recommend Eddie Merlot's, which makes me sad...

Food, bartender and server were all really good. Overall great experience and not overpriced for the quality you get. The only thing that upset me is that it was so dead. A place like this should be a lot busier on a Saturday night. If you're thinking about going here or one of the restaurants on freedom drive, go here. They deserve your business and is well worth it.

We love Eddie Merlot’s! The staff and service are amazing! Food is amazing and we love the atmosphere! Can’t say enough about our waiter Govert. The GM is amazing and he is so attentive to his guests and you feel like you know him personally. Would highly recommend this restaurant for service, food and overall atmosphere. A must!

It was a Friday night and the restaurant was almost empty. The food was good but extremely over priced; the menu did not match the atmosphere or the service. Our server tried to rush us out as if she had to turn the table and she suggested appetizers as if we were at Friday's. It felt as if she was doing us a favor by serving us yet she did not know how to pour or decant wine. She also did not serve the entrees to the correct person. For a $69.00 bone-in filet as a basic steak option I would expect better service.
When our server decanted our wine incorrectly, the sommelier arrived to fix the mistake. (she just poured the bottle leaving all the sediment on the side of the decanter) Due to the disturbance of the sediment the sommelier told us he had to leave the remainder of the wine to decant once it settled. He never came back to decant the remainder of the wine and the server poured the initial decanter with sediment into our glasses.
This is a high price steak house without the high price service that you will find elsewhere. Don't expect the little special touches in service or attention.

Third time to this Eddie Merlot's and it has dropped a notch from the prior two times. Service was very slow. For example, ordered a glass of wine when dinner arrived only to have it come when all five members of the party were finished with their meal. This place is too expensive for this type of service. All of our beef was ordered to be prepared medium. Some were prepared medium, one under cooked, one over cooked. Just not consistent, so might have to try a different location.

Chose this restaurant on New Years Eve. Service was subpar, possibly due to how busy they were, but for the money we spent, we expected more. Food was average to above average, atmosphere was good. Overall, a little disappointing

We made reservations for NYE based on outstanding reviews we got from a ton of friends about this restaurant, and this was our first visit. When we arrived, we were told there was a "slight delay" with our reservation, and when we asked approximately how long, we were told, "We don't know, we're waiting for a bunch of people to leave". So we sat down expecting a few-minute wait, and as we sat down, another couple told us they had been waiting over 45-minutes for their table. 40+ minutes later we were seated, but the server didn't come to our table for another 15-minutes, and no one brought any water in the meantime (and only refilled our water once, and only half-glasses). We ordered our drinks once the server arrived and said we were ready to order, but instead of taking our order, he said, "Let me just run and grab your drinks, then we'll get the order in." Hmmm, okay. Well, 15-minutes later, he arrived with our martini and a bottled beer, but said they were out of glasses so we just got the bottle, which was not cold. Our order was taken and about 35-minutes later, and our food was brought out by a runner. I asked for a side of the sauce that did not arrive with our food, and it was never brought-out. By the time our server checked back with us, about 20-minutes later, most our food was eaten since we were starving, but our steaks were not cooked properly and the sauce never came-out. We ordered a second bottle of beer, which the server forgot about. We understood it was NYE, and they were probably overwhelmed, but the tables around us were getting stellar service. The manager was even at their tables a few times, bringing them aged scotch and socializing with them, while we felt like we had been forgotten about several times. Our tab after gratuity was $200 for the two of us, a lot more than we typically spend on dinner, and to pay that much and get the service we received was disappointing and frustrating to say the least.

We always choose Eddie Merlots for every special occasion. The food is consistently excellent especially the seafood. The service is always amazing and we love the fact that the ambience is very elegant and quiet. We have been coming here for many years and is always our first choice for a special dining experience. The only complaint was that we requested a booth having made our reservation a month in advance and was given a table in the bar.

Friends and family gathered on New Year's Eve for an early dinner. There were 7 of us. Two of us had the Pork Chops which arrived cold and were fatty. One of us had chicken which arrived cold, rubbery and uneatable. One had the Lamb which arrived cold. One had the salmon which was just okay. The wait time for our food to arrive was extremely late which probably attributed to the cold food.
We did ask for separate checks which consisted of 3 separate checks. We were all very specific on who was ordering what side. We ordered one side only and made the waiter aware of this. We landed up being billed for two sides. At this point in the evening rather than make a fuss and have the waiter redo the bill we just paid it. On the way home I did call the manager. I have yet to hear from him. What an unbelievable disappointment. I do understand that New Year's Eve restaurants are extremely busy but the poor service and poor food quality for this allegedly high caliber of restaurant is really inexcusable.

On New Year’s Eve, they did not have enough staff to cover all the reservations and our wait time was about 20-30 minutes past our reservation time. On top of all that, we were sat at a table near the bar, which was crowded with other people waiting for their reservations. Did not receive the same service we have in the past when we have eaten here. The food was good, but the rest left a lot to be desired.

Not on New Year Eve, that's for sure. I had 5 lamb chops..2 were thick and good. The other 3 were as thin as paper and over done. My husband had a rib eye steak he thinks...didnt look like any cut we have EVER seen. Pot waiter was young and over booked. Paid no attention to us in between including having dishes cleared from each course. Won't be back anytime soon!!!!!!!!!

As usual, the restaurant did not disappoint. However, I was very sad to see the club chairs removed from the fireplace room. Those chairs are part of the reason I go to Eddie Merlot’s! It’s rare to find a restaurant with comfortable seating. It changes the ambience and the experience, we all agreed.

Second wonderful experience at Eddie Merlot's. Probably the most customer focused restaurant I have ever experienced. Twice I requested -- last minute -- seating close to fireplace. Twice, my request was fulfilled despite restaurant being at capacity. We had to wait 10 minutes longer to be seated, but was more than worth the wait. Food was phenomenal, house wine superb and the service out of this world. What a great experience and made for awesome Christmas Eve!

Service was the worst we ever experienced and not because of the holiday. We were at our table for 2 hours having an appetizer..soup and entree. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks to pass the time. They service was just so slow. Although the food was delicious the fondue potatoes were served luke warm. I shared this with the manager and he seemed less than concerned.

While the steaks were very tasty, the service was poor. Our waiter seemed distracted and got our order wrong, and in fact one diner did not get her correct dinner until the rest of us were done eating. The waiter did not check in with us to see how our orders were, so I had to go find someone to get him to tell him it was wrong. Additionally my husband had to go to the bar himself from our table to get a drink since the waiter had taken his order, but never came back. Once the correct dinner came he said he was sorry, but no mention of covering the wrong dinner or a round of drinks. Finally suggest better team work- the bus team did not bring bread, take away our glasses we were not using, our finished plates or refill our water. The wait staff had to do all of that, which probably contributed to the above issues we had. For spending almost $300 on a dinner, I expected at least minimal standard service, but did not receive even that. We will not return.

Well, the food was good. I have issues with where we were seated. We booked weeks in advance and were seated basically at the front door. I think I could have rolled out of my chair and into my car. When I saw this, I asked if the 4 of us could move to one of the many booths that were open. We were told no as every booth was reserved. When we asked how you could reserve them, the matre'd had no answer. Then, as we ate our meal I notice NO ONE was ever seated in ANY of the open booths they had! Seriously??? You didn't have ANYONE sitting at your booths and told us we couldn't sit in one as they were booked. That's just poor respect for your customers. I won't be eating their again. Ruth Cris's food is better and you get treated like your royalty. I can't recommend Eddie Merlot's.
