Went to Eddie Merlot's on a first date. The waiter apparently "mis-communicated" our order as my date's food was taken back to the kitchen while I sat with mine. Her food arrived and was told it was good. However, my bison filet which was ordered med-rare came out well done. Was not worth the trip on this occasion nor will I return. If this is how the staff operates with only 4 tables seated, can't imagine a full night.

Had a great meal and a very good waiter, and of course the physical plant is really attractive! We were seated at one of the tables at the back of the bar, just off of the dining room. This was perfect - not too noisy, but a good vibe from the bar, particularly desirable since the dining room was sparsely populated due to the coronavirus scare. Hubby wanted small plates; I wanted a good piece of seafood. We both left happy! He had calamari, the crab cake and the loaded potato balls, plus a little of my wedge salad. He said the crab cake was so good, he didn't even need the sauce that was attractively schmeared on the plate. I had the Arctic Char over rice pilaf - excellent.

Not familiar with the area, we wanted to have a steak dinner for our last night in town. Found this restaurant online and was not disappointed. On a quiet night, we were treated with care by our server, Bill. The service was thoughtful, friendly and timely. The meal was well prepared and tasty. Hope to return next time in town.

Mediocre for a high end steak house. Food wasn’t terrible... but steaks were overcooked, potatoes/Brussels undercooked and seasoned. Just meh with a big price tag. So many great options in north Scottsdale will move on to another next time.

Eddie Merlot's is one of our favorites for fine dining. We also enjoy their happy hour. We had the halibut special, which was excellent. Service is usually very attentive, however we found it very slow this time.

The food tasted alright but was nothing special by far. Presentation of food was below average. Appetizers came out cold and we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant. Everything was truly honestly overpriced... I’ve had better salmon for $20 at a local brewery compared to my $40 plate that came with no sides at Eddie Merlot’s. We were charged for bread (that’s fine) but when our food was boxed up they threw away all the bread (we had over the half the loaf left). We had great service and the wine was wonderful, but I overall would not recommend unless you’re going just for drinks. Save your money!

Asked for them to box corn, salad and pork chop. When I got home pork chop wasn’t included! Was very disappointed.

Omg, our waitress didn’t put a napkin down for our cocktails, no olives nor cherries in our manhattan or martini. The wedge salad was pathetic, tasteless, and the lettuce full of water. Our finished plates sat for20 minutes in front of us with no communication whatsoever with a restaurant worker. Do you know how long 20 minutes is? Looking at a finished plate? This could be understood at Applebee’s, but not a restaurant competing in a 4-5 star venue. We will not be returning to Eddie Merlot’s again. There are way too many other great restaurants in our neighborhood. This 3rd and very last time.
I appreciate the opportunity to make these comments. I do hope they are valued and will help your business improve.

We had a birthday party of eight ... very good service and food ... one person ordered sea bass and said he should have had some of their beef. Nice decor, good spot ... we will be back!

We shared the 16 Oz bison bone in ribeye, while very flavorful, was not at all tender. Our friends also shared one, and theirs was tough as well. Medium rare, done perfectly..but tough.

This was such a pleasant surprise! Comfortable, great service, great food fr fair prices, and lots of choices! The wine list was above average, too. This place is easy to overlook from the outside but it’s definitely worth checking out and we will return!

We always enjoy a nice meal and happy hour at Eddie Merlot’s. Service is always impeccable and the entire staff is very pleasant. We both had fish tonight, salmon and ahi tuna, both excellent!

I had a reservation booked well in advance. Received a phone call stating that a large group, who made a reservation after mine, was given the entire patio area. It was made clear by staff that parties of two are often relegated to second place. What is the point of making s reservation if it will not be honored when more lucrative groups reserve. Every reservation should be given equal status. I’ll think twice before returning. Although the food was wonderful as always, the politics of this establishment made it an unpleasant situation.

Ordered carpaccio for a starter. Really tasteless and they serve kettle style potato chips instead of a crusty bread. Not a winner
As for dinner, we all ordered from the Chef's special menu. The only steak that came cooked properly was the one ordered rare. All others were extremely over cooked.

My Wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day @ Eddie's ….
So one would expect that there would be a little confusion in the service area, but despite that everything was Amazing! I would definitely love to try this Excellent restaurant on a weeknight....

We went here for our Valentine's Day date and were rather unimpressed with the service unfortunately. Our food though, was absolutely delicious! Our server was very knowledgeable, when he came to our table. Two tables were sat after us and both ordered before us, but not because we weren't ready or anything. Our menus were literally sitting on the table, our server walked by and looked directly at us, and continued walking. We were honestly considering leaving when a manager came by our table because he could tell something was wrong and offered us a new server. The new server was better, but not by much. It was just so unfortunate to be paying so much for good food (which was worth it) and to receive such poor service. I expect more from a restaurant of this caliber. The restaurant was also MUCH louder than I anticipated. It was fairly busy when we got there, but we had to almost yell or lean in right next to each other to be heard. I also wasn't real happy with the layout of the restaurant. The tables felt very crammed together. Nearly every person who walked by our table was putting their hand on one of the extra chairs which either bumped it into my leg or the table, literally all night long.

On the plus side, their bartender is excellent. I order an Old Fashioned everywhere I go and it was fantastic. We also never had to ask for our water to be refilled, something that is constantly an issue at other restaurants, there was always someone on it. And, as I mentioned, the food is well worth the price. The filets and lobster tail were extremely tender and cooked to perfection. I can't say enough good things about the food, that part was definitely worth it.

We had a 7:30pm reservation and did not leave the restaurant until 9:50 pm. We sat for 45 minutes waiting for our food, with nobody checking on us. No water refills, had to ask for bread, no explanation for the wait. It was only when we flagged down a hostess and expressed our displeasure that someone came to check on us. While we understood that it was Valentines Day and it was busy, we were watching people who were seated after us being served first. All the waitress had to say was “all of the tickets went in at once”. I had marked that it was my Mother’s birthday and nothing was said until I asked if they did anything for birthdays. A dessert was brought out but we were charged for it. The manager gave us some money off of our bill but we won’t be back. They really didn’t seem to care. Not a fine dining experience, the food wasn’t great. Save your money, unless you have time to kill. Very disappointed.

Disappointed in the food and the ambiance. Not the romantic evening with delicious food. Had bison filet and crab legs with Brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts were not great. Choose another side. Food was not hot. Dessert good. Portion huge so share for sure. Had carrot cake.

Server was rude, impatient, and generally unfriendly. My $43 New York steak was a thin cut with lots of fat and grissle. Menu offered daily specials that were not on available on Valentine’s Day. Should have been noted on the menu. Our party of six agreed that the evening was ruined by the unprofessional waitress and staff.🙁🥵

Valentine's evening, very busy, service was rushed, very noisy. Server recommended Black Cod when my daughter had already ordered salmon - bad advice! No ambiance whatsoever, just hectic. A very disappointing evening.
