We went for a birthday dinner, everyone's steak was done just right and the waitress was very nice. We will be back.
Always a pleasure to dine at Eddie Merlot in Pittsburgh. Very professional and personable staff make the experience comfortable...and that is a good thing. It's also nice to see some of the same staff members when you go in. Never a bad meal. Actually, I should say always a good meal!
Food just okay. Everything else was fine
Food was great! The service was outstanding - our waiter John was very personable. And business meeting ran smoothly
It was wonderful. We had Cameron and Cindy and they were perfect! Cameron fixed the perfect raw oyster and at last convinced my husband to try it!! And Cindy recommended the perfect bottle of wine and was just amazing. They were a perfect balance! Can’t wait to go back and will most definitely request them again. They even engaged the couple next to us! Thanks so much!! Congrats again grandpa Cameron!! ❤️❤️oh and they loved my Eye dress and I must have had at least three of them compliment me. So kind!!
Great service and food. Rihana and Gordon servers where outstanding, attentive, and very knowledgeable of the wine list and the items on the complete menu. We had 10 customers for dinner and everyone was very pleased with the evening.
Steak was awesome, service was awesome, but the lobster tasted old and was almost inedible.
Eddie Merlot's has great food, great service, beautiful atmosphere. All steaks cooked to perfect temperature. One guest ordered the veal and did not care for it, however we were at a steak house.
Service was unacceptable, and will most likely not return. 35 min before drinks arrived, placed order and dinner arrived almost an hour after seating...another waiter came to tell us the specials after we had ordered. Informed the waiter that we we going to a show. 97 min into the dinner was asked if we had room for dessert...would have loved to enjoy something but we told them we had to get to our show. Staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, though they did their best they could, they were understaffed. Disappointed as my wife and I have been looking forward to this restaurant for some time now. I don’t blame the servers, I blame the management. Not one member of management asked us how the meal was during or after dinner.
VERY FRIENDLY HAD TO CALL TO SEE EXACTLY THE PARKING GARAGE
PROPER AND FRIENDLY WAS VERY GOOD CRAB CAKE APPETIZER WOWSA
WILL BE THERE AGAIN
Have been here several times, both at the bar and the restaurant, never disappointed. The steaks are amazing , sides esp the sweet potatoe casserole scrumptious, desserts very good especially carrot cake, and the French press coffee piping hot. Kate was our waitstaff on Sat and was really good!!
Dinner was outstanding, I had a perfectly cooked Bison Filet and the wife had the Bourbon Ribeye.
We were very disappointed in the overall experience. The restaurant was not full, and the hostess said our server would be "right over," but it took quite a while for him to arrive. He told us about a couple of cocktails and we said we wanted a glass of wine. But instead of asking what kind of wine, he said he'd get us our water and give us "a minute" to look over the menu (even though we'd already had many minutes to do that), and he left. About 5 minutes later he came back, and neither he nor anyone else had brought any water. He was going to leave again to go get the water, but we said "please take our order while you're here." A long time passed and when he finally came back, he only had of the wines we ordered and said they were out of the other one. (This was not a special wine, but one of the regular by-the-glass wines on the menu.) So then we had to wait again while he went to get the second glass of wine. All the while, we saw many servers and other wait staff standing around talking with each other, seemingly with nothing to do.
The food was OK, but not great. We went because they were advertising a special seafood menu. The poke appetizer was not high-quality tuna and was somewhat drowned in sauce. We both had the char entree and thought it was adequate but not the kind of quality one would expect for $35.
The restaurant is lovely and we had a very nice table by the window. But it doesn't make for the most pleasant evening when you have to wait that long to even get a drink and you can't get the wine you ordered in a restaurant that has an entire wall of wine bottles.
Excellent service! Excellent food! Highly recommended.
Michael as our server was the best. He read the group, responded with poise, and was excellent with his service. AWESOME! He understands how to care for his customers.
Wow... my meal was amazing and the staff even better.. bone in bison ribeye bliss
As a rule I never get seafood at a steak restaurant. Too bad I didn't adhere to that. I'm A platinum card holder and I have been to Eddies many times for steak. I assumed that they knew how to cook. My fish was so over cooked it was a shame. If not for the sauce I would not have been able to eat it at all. So go to Eddies. The steak is wonderful. DO NOT have fish.
I would never go there again. Worst experience ever. My wife fell off the bar and the manager cane to the table and said they would not serve her. I was totally humiliated and would never recommend this restaurant to ANYONE!!i had to take my wife to the hospital as she had a diabetic coma.
It was one of the best overall dining experiences I’ve ever had. Every aspect of our night was over the top. Starting with our waiter Jim, through all over our appetizers, hand crafted cocktails, to the bread and my favorite, the table side carving of our chateaubriand filet. Truly professional service that left you needing nothing. Even the bread and the dough for our cinnamon roll a la mode dessert was the fluffiest, tastiest dough/pastry I’ve had out of all the top tier restaurants in Pittsburgh. I even joined the platinum club because I know we will be regulars at this magnificent restaurant.
We had originality regretted choosing to visit on a Friday during Lent, but the seafood was all delicious. Our server was a pleasure to speak with and great help with the he menu.
After receiving an email promotion, we went for Friday dinner during Lent.
All of our dinners were excellent, the service was impeccable as always and we love the ambiance in the restaurant. This is an outstanding spot, including the bar for Happy Hour, but it is among the most expensive venues so visitors must be prepared to drop significant $ for the experience.
Our waitress Shawna did not bring our appetizers until after we received our entrees. We only had an hour for lunch but because she took her time brushing the crumbs from our table, we did not receive our checks in a very timely manner. The soup she brought wasn’t hot; it was barely warm and despite having been told our appetizers would be free, they were still on the checks. We paid because we had to get back to our office and didn’t want her to waste any more of our time.
Despite the poor service, our entrees were delicious.
Absolutely wonderful night. We enjoyed every minute of our time there. The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal.
They have good food, great service, and is a value for members.
We had a very nice night the service and food were incredible!! Our server Kate was awesome. She was very knowledgeable and very prompt and checked back constantly. The filet was perfect and the taste incredible!! Can’t wait to go back.
Delicious. I tried the Bison filet mignon and for 195 calories it was as tasty as a regular filet if not more so . The roasted root vegetables and creamed spinach were sublime.
the cherry glazed bacon appetizer was out of this world as was the beef carpacio.
Outstanding as always! Our go-to restaurant for special occasions, this was my wife's birthday celebration. Great food, great service, wonderful time.
For a high end restaurant, the service was below average. The waitress spilled my coffee all over the table, did not apologize and did nothing to blot it. I asked another server for a napkin to cover it. The tables are too small for the dish sizes and what is on the table. We had to ask for bread and rarely checked back.
Overall , every thing was very good. Some items a bit pricy.
We had a 10 star dining experience on a scale 1-5!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was that awesome!!!
Me and my boyfriend went here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. We never get to go to fancy places so this was something we saved up for and we were really looking forward to. Eddie Merlot's met every single expectation we had, and more. The staff was so incredibly friendly, they were very knowledgeable about their menu as well as they're alcohol. Very friendly and personable. The food is obviously a bit pricey because of the quality, but it is worth every single penny. The food was absolutely amazing, I did not have one single complaint. The calamari was the best I've ever had in my entire life, so tender and perfectly cooked. The steak and seafood was top-notch, hands down the best steak I've ever had in my life. As someone who doesn't drink that much I can say their cocktails were delicious, very beautiful and tasty drinks. When we said we were too full for dessert the waitress brought us a creme brulee on the house just so we would know how amazing their desserts are, which are also DIVINE! That's how fantastic the staff is, if I could give it more than five stars I would because I was absolutely impressed and I will recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. Will definitely be going back for next special occasion!!!
Overall good experience
Disappointed. Food had very little taste. There were four of us dining and it took 3 hours to have dinner.
Great food, our steaks were both phenomenal. Merlot’s for the win if you’re looking for a great selection of dining options from appetizers, sides, and steak options!!!
First time visit and it was amazing. Food was outstanding as was the service. We had reservations for 6:30, arrived early and seated right away. Best steak I’ve ever had!
Great staff and service. Meal quality was excellent. One thing that should be posted to their site is parking in the garage underneath they do validate. Did not know anything about that until after dinner when our waitress asked if we parked in the garage. There is valet offered outside, but that is not included. If your going to comp parking mention it on your site, or they should mention when you call to confirm your reservation. The other high end steak places downtown do mention on one format. Will be back though for sure.
Excellent food, service and ambiance! Look forward to going back.
Will definitely go back.
Great evening out with my beautiful wife! The server Eddie was fabulous. He knew the menu and his suggestions were spot on! We will be back and we will request Eddie!
We were blown away. Service and food was outstanding. Even the desert was amazing and I never order desert because as an Italian, I’m always disappointed! New fave place!
