It was just okay. Food a bit cold when we got it. The vegetables were very good. The NY strip was tough. Very loud!

We went for our anniversary and made a reservation. Our table was ready when we got there. The service was what's expected for a restaurant at this price point and reputation. Apps were good and we especially enjoyed the tuna poke. Very fresh. Entrées were as expected. My steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly as was my wife's. My only complaint is I thought it very loud. Much louder than I expected but that’s the only negative thing I have to say.

Two friends and I met up at Eddie Merlot's for dinner prior to a show we were seeing at The Brown Theater. Our server was knowledgeable, but he wanted to rush us in our appetizer and dinner decisions. We had 2 hours before the show started and were not really in any hurry. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it was very good. I had the ribeye and brussel sprouts; the steak was just okay but the brussel sprouts were overcooked and dry. We also shared a lobster mac & cheese at the table and it was very good. Overall, the food was good but not worth the price tag in my opinion. There are much better fine dining restaurants available at their price point.

The food was very good but service was slow and waiter left all dirty dishes on table from appetizers to salads until finished with dinner. I usually have better service when we go out to a fine restaurant.

Eddie Merlot's Restaurant was a superior experience from making the reservation until we exited the restaurant after an incredibly fantastic dinner. Our excellent dining experience was a wonderful prelude to attending Les Miz. The restaurant is gorgeous, the service friendly and accurate, and the food and presentation were outstanding. Wonderful dining experience!

My husband and I dined here last night. We were staying at the Embassy Suites next door and this restaurant was very convenient to the hotel. We made a reservation on open table and were seated immediately upon arrival. The service was excellent. Our server was courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. We both ordered bourbon cocktails. They were pricey at $15 each but very good. We shared the raw oysters on the half shell as an appetizer. They were fresh and delicious. I had the yellowfin tuna entree. It was fantastic. I would highly recommend. My husband ordered the 12 oz. sirloin that he said was cooked as he ordered and was excellent. The sides are large shareable portions. I highly recommend the garlic mashed potatoes. Creme brûlée for dessert was wonderful. The only cons are the seating is very close together and it is pricey. All of this came to $184 before tip. Otherwise, it was wonderful.

The food, service and professionalism was outstanding in this restaurant. Every employee was super friendly! My server was wonderful as well and made sure my boyfriend and I had a nice experience there while dining. Our steaks were perfect and our grilled vegetables were so good! This restaurant also offers the best chocolate cake and peanut butter cake!

The wait staff was wonderful. The food was not as flavorful as you would expect, especially at this price point. My husband and I had the BBQ Shrimp to start which were ok then we split the Tomahawk Ribeye with the Brussel Sprouts, Potatoes and Mushrooms as sides. Thankfully we had the mushrooms to add to the steak. I really wanted to like it but compared to other steakhouses in town I won’t be returning.

The food was great. The service unfortunately was not. Our waiter seemed annoyed that we were there and was quite harsh to the point of being rude. We ordered appetizers that never came and the apology was halfhearted to say the least. I have been to Eddie Merlot’s in other cities and had great experiences. This location did not come close to the professional atmosphere of past experiences.

We eat here for Easter brunch, and under stand that brunch at a steakhouse is not the norm. It was obvious our waiter didn’t want to be there and didn’t pay much attention to us. The food was flavorful but everything was barely warm and the options were not worth the cost. The atmosphere seemed nice and we would go back to see if they’re better at dinners.

Food was very good, and the auxiliary help (hostess and busboys) is wonderful. It would be helpful if you create an atmosphere where the rest of the service givers are as wonderful.

Negatives:
1. Server only check on us 2 times (1 refill and the check)
2. The valet let me know that parking was $10, I gave him a $50 bill and he asked how much change I wanted back. I was going to say all of it, but opted to just let him keep it.
3. As we left, I gave my ticket to the valet to get my car (same guy) and he just said your car is across the street. I showed him how my wife is handicapped and asked him to please bring the car to the curb so my wife wouldn't have to cross a busy street to get in our car.

Easter Brunch

I went to Eddie Merlot for their Easter Brunch. It boasted a very impressive menu at only 54.95 a person including beverages. There were King Crab Legs, Steak, Lamb, Oysters, a full brunch bar, full desert table as well as made to order Banana Fosters, and that is still a very brief synopsis. We had a small child so I was not surprised to be seated in a relatively secluded area until attendees picked up. I was surprised that we were placed right next to the water pitchers and the servers constantly had to reach over and around my mother to accommodate other guests. I moved our table closer to the wall only to uncover a mess of crumbs that the table shielded for who knows how long. My mother pointed out the consistent struggle to getting a decent cup as her first glass had a lipstick stain, another had a smear and when I ordered hot water and lemon, that cup was cracked. For the two employees I wasn't particularly impressed with, everyone else was friendly. It was my first time having cold crab legs and I must say that I am not a fan although I appreciated them being sliced horizontally down the middle to avoid any mess making. The meat left more to be desired as it was just bland. My mom said it best when she suggested that the normal staff was given the day off to celebrate the holiday and the B team came to play. It wasn't a good depiction at all of the quality they are renowned for.

Everything was excellent. When my wife and I arrived for the valet service, the valet was very courteous and mannerable. Went inside for dinner, our server whose name was Brittany, provided us with great service the entire time. We were extremely pleased especially that we celebrated our 23rd anniversary. We will return again soon and highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

This was our first time there! It was my boyfriend's birthday so we wanted to splurge. Expensive but worth it. I would find myself eating there for mostly special occasions but what an amazing dinner. LOVED the oysters rockefeller! We asked our server a few questions he didn't know first hand but that's not the end of the world. Hope to dine in again!

Great food, first class service in a truly unique and stunningly beautiful venue in downtown Louisville in the heart of the Fourth Street Bourbon District. Our server Patrick was very professional and helped us enjoy one of the best fine dining experiences my wife and I have had in 2 years.
We stayed for the live music in the bar after dinner and continued to enjoy the guitar and vocals of an amazing couple. Their version of “Cant you see” with a guitar solo made the bar cheer.
If you only have one special night in Louisville spend it at the “Merlot”
(I had one of the House specialties - New Orleans trio of filet, shrimp and sausage. Wow it was amazing. ) my wife enjoyed an 8 oz filet that was equally terrific.
