Couldn't have had a better date! Our waitress was very helpful, excited to be there, and had us laughing. My girlfriend was mesmerized by the brownie and ice cream fire. But let me tell you, that fillet mignon was out of this world. Will be going back for the wagyu however! Drinks were very good but the cucumber martini could be sweeter. They're very strong drinks so the price seems worth it. At some point the manager had stepped out to ask how our meal was and that really made the occasion feel even more wholesome. Thank you all for the great night. And thank you again to the bartender for the salt 😂😂😂
We went to Eddie Merlot's to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. The restaurant staff were very polite and attentive. We had the Shrimp and Oyster appetizer and the Chateaubriand for our main course. It was cooked perfectly and the table side serving was very nice. Perfect spot for a special dinner!
Awesome service, excellent food, beautiful setting - it hit all the right buttons as we celebrated my wife’s birthday.
the place was beautiful. food was outstanding. best steak i have ever had. waiter was amazing. very informative on the menus and made very good recommendations on what we should eat. i can’t wait to come back
I enjoyed my food it was fresh and came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Filet Del Mar the shrimp was not to appetizing. I didn’t complain because I ordered crab legs which made up for the lack of flavor on the shrimp. The crab legs were seasoned very well, you really didn’t need the butter. My service was very subpar the other waitresses checked on us more than our own. Now that I think about it I should have tipped them.
Steamed king crab arrived at table cold and rubbery. Bouillabaisse had no fish or langostino in it. Waiter disappeared after the meal arrived. Had to ask another waitress to get the manager. Manager apologized and did not charge for the meal. Not sure if I will return.
Jacob was outstanding.
I ordered my steak medium well it was still bloody, and was chewy I had to spit a bite out in my napkin. Asked the sever what he would recommend between the spinach salad cauliflower, he told me one was a salad and one was a side he couldn't compare the two. I went with the cauliflower, the bottom of to bowl was full of water and the cheese sauce on top was grainy and had separated. The setting was nice and the spice cherry mule was good but other then that it was not a good experience. Me and my husband will never go back.
This place was top notch and worth the money. Our server did such a great job and the Food was excellent! Best dessert I’ve ever had.
Everything was amazing! From the drinks (which I had a Berry Martini and my fiancé had a Tom Collins) to the soup (which I had the King Crab Meat Bisque and my fiancé had the French Onion Soup) to the bread to the entree. Unfortunately we were headed to a comedy show right after so we didn’t do dessert but we’ve committed to going back and this time to do the dessert. The ambiance was perfect and allowed for my fiancé and I to have a much-needed romantic dinner and night out. Highly recommended!
I have been to Eddie Merlot's restaurants several times in Louisville and Cincinnati and have always had a great dining experience. The food is consistently excellent with portions large enough to share with the whole table. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive and add a lot to the overall experience. I plan on dining again soon at their restaurants.
Good food and experience but took a minute to get meal, but the spot wasn't crowded at the time.
i do not write reviews for places that I have only dined at one time
recommend, yes with qualifications.
A month ago we had a cauliflower dish that was tremendous, this time it was just so-so.
Not sure why they changed it, but was disappointing.
Also last time they served a porterhouse which we loved, not available this time, another disappointment.
Outstanding food and service. Ambiance was lovely. Our first but will definitely will not be our last
Our family went to Eddie Merlot’s for the first time to celebrate a 40th birthday. We all had an amazing time and the food was incredible. Our waiter was fantastic as well.
Birthday celebration
Meal (steak each and two shared sides) was mediocre. Neither steak cooked as requested. Sides bland. Bacon in Brussels sprouts was absent. Steaks and Brussels sprouts lacked salt. Service was initially overly attentive and then absent. It’s been enjoyable in the past but this was quite disappointing.
Everything was amazing. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the waygu. Both melted like butter in our mouths. For sides we had the loaded potato croquettes and grilled asparagus. DELICIOUS!!
Becca was an awesome server. Our food was delicious as always. Highly recommend the Chateaubriand. The new loaded potato croquettes were amazing. The creme brulee is the best in the city
Great service, great ambiance, great food. Overall a great anniversary dinner! 10/10 would recommend to others.
A great evening with delicious food, and immaculate service. Personable not stuffy.
Robbie our server was outstanding and so well informed about the menu and wine options. We thoroughly enjoyed our service and will come back soon.
We were so looking forward to a nice evening out. We had reservations and when we arrived, checked in at the host stand and were seated in the noisy bar area. We would have much preferred the dining room. Our server was very nice and polite but sadly our credit card was used that same night at 2:45 AM when we were sound asleep. I’m fairly certain the server, as she carried off our card to swipe it also swiped it through some sort of device and stole our card information. Food was good, but for the price I expected more flavor out of the side dishes. The bread was fantastic and the ranch on my husband’s salad was also superb. The final annoyance was the next day when I received an email from Open Table scolding me for being a no-show at the restaurant and not having the decency to cancel. Once again Eddie Merlot’s failed to report that I did actually attend my reservation. I had to fill out an email to open table insisting that I did in fact attend the reservation. Too many issues. I probably won’t eat there again.
Retirement dinner and the overall experience exceeded our expectations
awesome as usual.
Comfortable environment, waiter knowledge, and food was amazing!
Wonderful place that is beautifully decorated and a fine staff.
On this unspecial occasion, we had reservations at 6:30 PM. The service was relatively slow. The server was overly chatty, talked too fast and more or less read the menu. Everyone seemed relatively pleased with their food, with the exception of the brussels sprouts were unedible, being too bitter and undercooked. The steak was good but was unremarkable compared to other great steak houses in the city. The cost was unreasonably high for the value that was received, however the evening was pleasant.
Got a filet cooked medium was mushy with no flavor. Mashed potatoes was ok needed more butter and cream. They were dry. French Onion Soup was delicious.
This is our new favorite restaurant. We have been for the past three weeks and everything has been perfect. Everything.
The dinner was incredible. The steaks were cooked perfectly.
My food was great, my server not so great, after we were done eating I asked the server to please prepare this to go, when she brought it she placed my food on the floor.
I was very upset about that I said to her excuse me, I picked my food up and placed it on the table there was plenty of room on the table and in the other chair this should not have been.
Other than the creamed spinach being a bit too salty for my wife, (I thought it was delicious) our meal was exceptional. Both entrees included steak and we both agreed they were the best ever in all respects. Karla was very professional and personal from start to finish and receives our highest approval. I hear some complain about the prices. If you want cheap, go cheap. EM is up-scale and worthy of our delayed Valentine's outing and their entire presence receives our approval in every respect.
When we arrived we were escorted to the dining area directly adjacent to the bar which was not overly noisy but seemed to be typical of the bar congregation of businessmen and others standing and discussing their day's conquests or tomorrow's plan of operation. This is fine, and actually familiar. But, we were there for a special night at a special dining experience. After we had settled in and ordered our first drink the adjacent dining room caught our eye and we wondered why we were not given this seating option when we arrived. Karla said we were allowed to change but at this point we decided it best to enjoy our drinks, and Karla. This option should be granted, though, to all. Especially for those who are new to the lay out of the restaurant. On the whole, our evening was very pleasant, the food was exceptional, and the service top-notch. We will return as well as recommend Eddie Merlot's to others.
Service was excellent. It seemed the kitchen was backed up, as the table next to us ordered at the same time as us received their food and had finished eating before our food arrived. Our waiter did keep us informed and apologized several times. The food was not cooked as we requested, steak was cold.
Eddie Merlot’s never disappoints! The prime rib is so flavorful. The Lobster Mac and cheese is phenomenal.
Great food, great service. This was our first visit to Eddie Merlot and we were not disappointed.
A great place to celebrate any special occasion!
Third time eating here. First two were great. This time there was a limited menu because it was near Valentines. Translated, better value options were not available. Service was ok, but did not live up to my previous experiences. Overall, for a restaurant in this price range, I was not satisfied this round.
