Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Louisville
It was a very nice experience. The service was good and the food was outstanding! We will definitely return. However, we would choose to not be so close to the entrance. It was too cool and louder than I prefer.
We brought our kids for a 60th Birthday celebration. It was a fabulous dinner! The prices are such that this type of large group dinner cannot happen often with a $1000+ bill for 11 people.
Disappointed in dryness of both chicken breast and bourbon ribeye. Spinach sauce was a nice complement to overcome dry chicken. I was tempted to ask for sauce for ribeye. BTW. Didn’t appreciate being overcharged just because we were using gift certificate. Didn’t see any reason to make a big deal.
Wonderful meal and service. Looking forward to our Holiday dinner.
Great for steaks. comfortable dining room. definitely would return to try more dishes. The french onion soup was amazing Wifes steak was a little over done past medium but over all good food and great service.
1-word = AMAZING!!! The food was SPECTACULAR and our server, Brent was simple OUTSTANDING!!!👍🏼👍🏼
Yes! One of our favorite dinner spots in Downtown Louisville!
Usually go to Eddies a hand full of times per year. Always top notch every time. Until this visit , I was very disappointed. Service was super as always. Then the food came. My steak was lukewarm at best. The sides were room temp. Nothing I’d expect from a restaurant that is usually perfect. So bad it will be hard to justify going there again. With the fear of paying two hundred plus for a meal that wasn’t worth 40 dollars.
The restaurant was experiencing problems with their furnace. As the outside temperature was 38 degrees it was very cold in the restaurant. We were told that a portion of the restaurant had to be closed the other night as it was so cold. They were going to get heaters the next day. This was a Saturday night and you would have thought they would have bought heaters by then. The food came out cold and the service wasn't great. The calamari was not even edible.
There was six of us in our party and this restaurant was highly recommended to us. I wish they would have told me of their situation. It would have been better to go to another restaurant. The manager came out an apologized. It was too late as by then it was just a terrible experience.
We had a 7:15 reservation for a friend's birthday party and were not served until almost 9pm. It took 45 minutes for the server to take our order. He seemed rushed the entire evening and several tables seated after us were served first and finished before we did. I ordered my filet medium and it came out closer to well done but I did not send it back as had waited so long for our food. Overall, fairly disappointing for the price we paid.
Great restaurant for high end food and experience.
Filet was excellent paired with The Prisoner wine. Can’t wait to go back when I visit Louisville again.
Steak was one of the best I ever had! Our service was excellent as well!
Very nice experience from entering the restaurant to exiting. The waitstaff were very pleasant and knowledgable, the service was excellent, the food was as described and the ambiance was very nice.
Dined here last night with 4 and the service was awful. Our waitress Becca was pushy and incompetent. She didn't bother to check with the manager on the wine price match. In the end, she offered to take a overly baked potato off the bill since she forgot to bring it out on time. Our bill was around $500. Very disappointed in quality, but the service was below average.
This was my second trip to Eddie Merlot's in Louisville. The filet was exceptional and there were rave reviews around the table for everyone's meal. This restaurant is not to be missed while visiting Louisville!
The service was bad and the food was just ok... not worth the price.
Perfectly cooked steak, but very slow kitchen service for our table of two. The issue may have been my spouse's starter, the lobster escargots. No, there are no escargots in the dish. It is a tiny bit of lobster in a very mild garlic butter sauce topped with a bit of pastry and served in the classic escargots tray with wells. This starter was very slow to appear at the table and was exceedingly "blah" in flavor. I would not recommend the dish..
The food , service and ambiance were excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining.
My wife and I were visiting Louisville and happened to see Eddie Merlot's restaurant when we were exploring 4th Street. It looked good so we booked a late reservation for that evening. When we arrived, we were greeted well and shown to a lovely table in the large dining room. The decor is nice and sophisticated if not beautiful. I don't recall the noise level so it must have been fine, but I also don't recall any music, which would have been nice. The disappointment I experienced with the ambiance was the total absence of standards for dress. One later than middle-aged couple that was seated in my direct line of sight were dressed no differently than for pulling weeds (athletic shorts and tee shirts though they looked not the least bit athletic), and when I started looking around the dining room, I noticed several grown men wearing ball caps, at least one of which was turned around backwards. These adults were seated at a linen-tablecloth restaurant wearing ball caps. That says a lot about those men and their families, but it also says something about the restaurant that didn't ask them to remove their hats upon entering.
The food and bar drinks were very good, and the service was attentive and informed. We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails, filets cooked to perfection, asparagus and mashed potatoes. We found the wine list quite inviting, and although I didn't make the best selection, the range is sure to please almost everyone. The server prepared an off-menu dessert table side, which we appreciated.
Our overall experience was very good, so I did not object to the $260 meal cost. But for that kind of money, wouldn't it seem appropriate to uphold a standard of decorum which includes a statement that "Gentlemen are requested to remove hats before entering the dining room?" Then again, gentlemen need no such encouragement.
I would recommend Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef and Seafood for a good meal.
We were in Louisville for the weekend to attend the Clemson vs U of L. We were told we must eat at Eddie Merlot’s. We all had steaks that did not disappoint! All prepared and served to perfection! Highly recommend for a great steak & nice bourbon too
Had 8:15 reservation. Was seated promptly in the bar area next to the server's station. Not the best view watching the wait staff drinking their bottled Mountain Dew and standing around. Took 15 minutes for someone to greet us and ask us if we'd like a cocktail. So a rocky start. We eventually got a bottle of wine which was mediocre. But they had some nice offerings. Started with splitting the Cesar salad, but the large core of lettuce in mine was off putting. We both had a filet. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I had mine Oscar style and the two tiny pieces of crab on top were tasty, however not sufficient for the additional cost. Our first experience with this chain, but likely the last. Especially with other options nearby that deliver the high end experience associated with the price point.
Celebrated our anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Could not have been better. Service was excellent, food was delicious. Best carrot cake I’ve ever had.
I had the Ribeye. The steak was delicious and served at the requested temperature. The service was exceptional. I would definitely recommend.
we were seated very fast, especially being a very busy night. the service was excellent!
Had another wonderful meal, one of my favorite places to eat.
We had a wonderful dinner. Food was pretty good. Au-gratin potatoes were a disappointment but the french onion soup and filet were spot on.
Beef was perfectly cooked. Carrot cake was delicious. Was a very nice experience. Will return.
Steaks were over cooked.
Very familiar with EMs. Cocktails were excellent. Steaks, fish and sides were all very good. Server was very knowledgeable and attentive, but almost to the point of intrusive. Overall a very good experience and we will return.
Great, as usual!
Made reservations for my wife’s birthday, valet parking was very helpful. We were seated right away and offered multiple water options. The waitress was very helpful in helping us to chose from the many cocktails. I had the prime ribeye which was cooked and flavored to perfection. My wife had the daily special highly recommended by our waitress, tenderloin crab and lobster. All were amazing. My wife was offered creme brûlée for her Birthday, also excellent. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend.
Air conditioning did not work and it just so happened to have cooled off slightly that day otherwise don’t know if it would have been bearable Bourbon selection good. Seafood selection good for a steak place. Allan’s all good place for a special occasion or maybe a bar seating experience
Wonderful experience! We had eight people in our party to celebrate my daughter’s Birthday and each person absolutely loved their meal. The Quality of the food was outstanding and the service was second to none.
The food was excellent. The service was not up to par. The waitress was not very tentative to us.
Good menu with a solid selection that isn’t overwhelming. Service was great. King Crab and Corn Bisque was amazing. 5-cheese Mac and cheese was ok. Bone in Filet was cooked perfectly! Worth the try!!!
We so enjoyed our dinner at Eddie Merlot's. The service was exceptional, the restaurant was beautiful, and the dinner was absolutely delicious. We loved the steaks and they were cooked to perfection! Thank you for making our special evening with family members so memorable
