Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Louisville
Our waitress, Elisabeth was wonderful! We were dining with food allergies and she was amazing!
Venue was very loud. Food took along time to come out and food wasn’t worth the cost.
Service was good with friendly servers.
My only negative is my entree was drowning in sauce. It would have been perfect if it had been drizzled. It was a holiday fish special. My husband’s meal was fantastic.
Excellent service and best lamb chops I have had in the US. My husband and I shared the oysters to start, and they were so fresh and I loved the apple vinegar with chopped apple in it. Will definitely be back!
The food was extraordinary, only topped by the service. Thank you! We will return!
Food atmosphere service all exceptional my only issue is the waiters continue to push product. Not everyone is on a company credit card. Stop over selling. It’s a huge turn off. I stopped going to Other national steak houses because of this.
Ribeye vastly overcooked. Waiter must have switched requested temperature with a filet. Filet ordered medium well and ribeye ordered medium. Said nothing about my steak as my companion would have been embarrassed. So...I smiled and pretended to enjoy a very tough, flavorless ribeye.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service, love coming here
We had a nice quite dinner. Our waitress was very attentive checking on us once our steaks were out. We had a steak a little over cooked and after she saw it with no complaint from us, she sent it back.
The service was exceptional. The food was even better. This is my favorite restaurant in the whole city, and this was the first time I have been there! I highly recommend the seafood options. The crab cakes were delicious, but my favorite menu item was the Crab Bisque. I could have eaten a whole pot of that bisque and been delighted!!
The cocktails are amazing! I will be trying to recreate the cherry mule every opportunity that I have!
My husband and I both had New York Strips, the temperature on the steaks was perfect, there was a bit of char on them, but the flavor in the center was perfect. The chef is definitely experienced. I would not leave without getting a steak.
Don’t skip dessert either, being my birthday, they brought a slice of cheesecake, but we ordered the carrot cake and could not finish either. The coffee was the best I have ever had! It is French press and they press it at the table.
We’ve always had a great experience. This most recent trip was good, but not as good as our past visits. Service was a bit slow, steak a little burnt, and we saw a waiter in the kitchen eating food off a plate they just took away from a table, which we thought was odd.
One of the better steakhouse experiences ever. My wife, mother-in-law and I enjoyed our visit tremendously!
Everything except my steak was amazing. Undercooked the steak the first time. When it came out the second time, it was charred and there was not much gorgonzola cheese left on top.
Great food and service. Waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Calamari was the best I’ve ever had.
Our server was phenomenal! He paid extra attention to detail and was very personable!
I felt cheated at Eddie Merlot's. Our waitress told us about the specials and we chose one to share. I asked the price of the special and was told around $90. When the bill was delivered, she said the special was a little more than what she had told us, but she would make it up with dessert. When I looked at the bill, it was $40 more than we were told! I also asked for bananas foster for dessert. We were told they were out! Then I saw it being prepared table side at another table! We won't be back!
While their menu is pricey, the food was excellent and service outstanding. I would definitely return for a visit. Well done!
Exceptional service, quiet environment and the food was phenomenal. Making reservations was easy and they had a number of options available. Highly recommend.
Our waitress, Elizabeth, was at! She was knowledgeable about the menu and chef prep of the meal. The Duck 2 ways was delicious and the Peanut Butter Cup was the perfect ending to a great dinner. Elizabeth was super and I would love to visit again!
Had high hopes, tastefully decorated
Steak wasn’t warm when served
Noted differing services/attentiveness by staff for different tables.
Sick the next day
Not impressed at all
Each time I visit Eddie Merlot's I always get a different experience. This time was okay; our server was good, no complaints, but the chef fell short. 3 of us ordered the shrimp app and it was not fully cooked but we did not complain. I was a bit perturbed because the shrimp app was something I boast about to others. But overall I still love Eddie Merlot's and would visit with friends again in the future. Oh, and the young gentleman who filled our water glasses was on point! I think he had 6th "water" sense.
Steak was overcooked and very dry. Staff never asked me how it was. Just cleared my uneaten plate and asked me about dessert.
We had a wonderful experience celebrating our 22 anniversary. Started in the lounge with a couple drinks, then move to the dining room for the BEST Steak I have ever had in my life!
It was a very nice experience. The service was good and the food was outstanding! We will definitely return. However, we would choose to not be so close to the entrance. It was too cool and louder than I prefer.
We brought our kids for a 60th Birthday celebration. It was a fabulous dinner! The prices are such that this type of large group dinner cannot happen often with a $1000+ bill for 11 people.
Disappointed in dryness of both chicken breast and bourbon ribeye. Spinach sauce was a nice complement to overcome dry chicken. I was tempted to ask for sauce for ribeye. BTW. Didn’t appreciate being overcharged just because we were using gift certificate. Didn’t see any reason to make a big deal.
Wonderful meal and service. Looking forward to our Holiday dinner.
Great for steaks. comfortable dining room. definitely would return to try more dishes. The french onion soup was amazing Wifes steak was a little over done past medium but over all good food and great service.
1-word = AMAZING!!! The food was SPECTACULAR and our server, Brent was simple OUTSTANDING!!!👍🏼👍🏼
Yes! One of our favorite dinner spots in Downtown Louisville!
Usually go to Eddies a hand full of times per year. Always top notch every time. Until this visit , I was very disappointed. Service was super as always. Then the food came. My steak was lukewarm at best. The sides were room temp. Nothing I’d expect from a restaurant that is usually perfect. So bad it will be hard to justify going there again. With the fear of paying two hundred plus for a meal that wasn’t worth 40 dollars.
The restaurant was experiencing problems with their furnace. As the outside temperature was 38 degrees it was very cold in the restaurant. We were told that a portion of the restaurant had to be closed the other night as it was so cold. They were going to get heaters the next day. This was a Saturday night and you would have thought they would have bought heaters by then. The food came out cold and the service wasn't great. The calamari was not even edible.
There was six of us in our party and this restaurant was highly recommended to us. I wish they would have told me of their situation. It would have been better to go to another restaurant. The manager came out an apologized. It was too late as by then it was just a terrible experience.
We had a 7:15 reservation for a friend's birthday party and were not served until almost 9pm. It took 45 minutes for the server to take our order. He seemed rushed the entire evening and several tables seated after us were served first and finished before we did. I ordered my filet medium and it came out closer to well done but I did not send it back as had waited so long for our food. Overall, fairly disappointing for the price we paid.
Great restaurant for high end food and experience.
Filet was excellent paired with The Prisoner wine. Can’t wait to go back when I visit Louisville again.
Steak was one of the best I ever had! Our service was excellent as well!
Very nice experience from entering the restaurant to exiting. The waitstaff were very pleasant and knowledgable, the service was excellent, the food was as described and the ambiance was very nice.
Dined here last night with 4 and the service was awful. Our waitress Becca was pushy and incompetent. She didn't bother to check with the manager on the wine price match. In the end, she offered to take a overly baked potato off the bill since she forgot to bring it out on time. Our bill was around $500. Very disappointed in quality, but the service was below average.
This was my second trip to Eddie Merlot's in Louisville. The filet was exceptional and there were rave reviews around the table for everyone's meal. This restaurant is not to be missed while visiting Louisville!
