   We sat in the lounge for happy hour. We had a great time with Mike serving us. You can never go wrong with lobster rolls and burgers!

   When we got there, no one was at the host desk, and the place was maybe 20% full. We waited a good 5 minutes before we were finally greeted, and immediately seated. We went in to celebrate my wife’s birthday. She is a hospitalist, and often has to work 24 hrs on call. We arrived, and as soon as we were seated, she got a text from the hospital. I explained the situation to the waiter, asking for some time for her to finish dealing with work. He checked on us every 5 minutes, for the 15 minutes it took her to handle the call. That’s not a complaint, but it becomes relevant later. We ordered the bourbon ribeye ($72) and the Wagyu ribeye ($99), each cooked medium well. When we got them, the bourbon ribeye was missing the fried onions, and the Wagyu looked like it had been blowtorched. The outside was BLACK! The inside was the proper temperature, so I didn’t send it back. In retrospect, for a $99 steak, I probably should have. It also wasn’t seasoned AT ALL. During the meal, the every-5-minute waiter disappeared. Both of us finished our drinks, and in actually had to get up to get it refilled. Never mind dessert. Look - the steaks were good, but not great. The service was ok. If I’m going to drop over $200 on a dinner for two, with no alcohol, the food and service need to be top notch. (Next time, Perry’s!). If I’d have paid less than $50 for each of those steaks, I’d have accepted everything else. Beelow’s in Lake Zurich charges about $50 for a 16 oz ribeye and they give you better-tasting food, free sauces (instead of $3 each), and 9 times out of 10, outstanding service. We should’ve gone there instead.

   We love this restaurant. We always have great food and great service every time we dine at the Lincolnshire restaurant Mike our server was great and the food was delicious.

   We didn’t know it was going to be a buffet until 10 minutes before we arrived for our reservation. We were so excited to be spending Mother’s Day at Eddie Merlot’s and then very disappointed with what we got.

   Went to Eddie Merlot's for dinner on Mother's Day. Did not know it was an $85 per person buffet only. We were planning on maybe steaks and seafood or fish. We were told that the buffet was the only dinner choice. We did not see any information at all about the buffet only on the website. We were disappointed and ate more than we were planning to. We have time at Eddie Merlot's several times and have been very pleased with the service and the food. We are not interested in buffets and wish that we have known ahead of time.

    A very disappointed Mother's Day dinner. Starting with the food that was just ok, which I think is always expected on a buffet where the food could be good but it will never look or taste fresh but what was really disappointing was the service. I understand it was mother's day but the place was not packed at all, and the service was not only slow but it was very poor from beginning to end, our waiter was not checking on us and there were a bunch of times where we had plates piled up on the table and we had to get up and get rid of the ourselves, He never said happy mother's day to my wife or my mother in law wich I find unacceptable given the occasion. Overall, it was a really poor experience, which is a shame because we like this place, but this was not the experience we were hoping for
