   We didn’t know it was going to be a buffet until 10 minutes before we arrived for our reservation. We were so excited to be spending Mother’s Day at Eddie Merlot’s and then very disappointed with what we got.

   Went to Eddie Merlot's for dinner on Mother's Day. Did not know it was an $85 per person buffet only. We were planning on maybe steaks and seafood or fish. We were told that the buffet was the only dinner choice. We did not see any information at all about the buffet only on the website. We were disappointed and ate more than we were planning to. We have time at Eddie Merlot's several times and have been very pleased with the service and the food. We are not interested in buffets and wish that we have known ahead of time.

   A very disappointed Mother's Day dinner. Starting with the food that was just ok, which I think is always expected on a buffet where the food could be good but it will never look or taste fresh but what was really disappointing was the service. I understand it was mother's day but the place was not packed at all, and the service was not only slow but it was very poor from beginning to end, our waiter was not checking on us and there were a bunch of times where we had plates piled up on the table and we had to get up and get rid of the ourselves, He never said happy mother's day to my wife or my mother in law wich I find unacceptable given the occasion. Overall, it was a really poor experience, which is a shame because we like this place, but this was not the experience we were hoping for

   Amy, Alexis, and Madi provided a warm greeting to people as they arrived. The Mother’s Day buffet had something for everyone. There were many chaffing dishes with hot entrees and sides, a carving station, and a good variety of desserts from Chef Aric’s kitchen staff. Luis, Kamil, David, Mike, Pablo Steve, Miguel, Chelsea, etc. provided good service. Sue and Antonio provided drinks for the many diners. Sergio, Juan, and others kept the tables clean. Tim, Jack, and Calvin kept the operation running smoothly.

   It was our first time there. Went for a Mother’s Day brunch. Everything from the service, to the ambiance, to the quality of food was absolutely amazing. To our surprise, the Mother’s Day brunch buffet was like no other buffet we’ve ever been to. They had prime rib, fillet, oysters, shrimp… and a ton of other superior quality items. We will definitely be back for more.

   This was our first visit to Eddie Merlot’s. We started with the crab cakes. They were generous and well dressed, in a delicious sauce. We followed this with Ahi tuna crisps. Tuna was typical sushi grade, although a little too much sauce that overpowered the fresh tuna. This was followed by two Cesars. They were delicious. The lettuce would have been amazing if chilled. Main course was three 16oz New Yorks. They were cooked to temp and seasoned well! My dish Del Mar, which consisted of a thin filet mignon was luke warm and overcooked. Obviously cooked before the three New York’s. The cooked shrimp that accompanied the filet were at room temperature. Yes, it was the day before Mother’s Day. Although we arrived at 5pm. The kitchen wasn’t operating at capacity. So I would have hoped for a properly cooked steak. The final reason for the three star review was the following. We ordered two orders of mashed potatoes. I let the waiter know that I wanted to send one back, as they were bland and clumpy. Not what you’d expect at a nicer steak house. To my surprise, he said he couldn’t take them back, because I ordered them. Wow! A $362 dollar bill and they couldn’t take back a $12 order of Potatoes. I didn’t even bother chatting with management. We simply paid and called it a night. We went over to Rosebud for my son’s Birthday desert. Eddie Merlots will survive without my business. Nice atmosphere and in the heart of Lincolnshire.

    The warm fresh bread was nice to have before ordering the meal. Food was served professionally by Crispin and Juan. Sue, Antonio, Joe, and Pablo provided excellent service.
