I am a steak lover and eat it more often than I should. I ordered the 16oz NY strip, med rare. I have to say (and my wife agreed) that it was the most flavorful steak I have probably had in the last 15 years (with the exception of some Wagyu I had in Japan a few years ago). I ordered the wedge salad, which was great, but could have used a little bit more dressing. My wife ordered the sea bass which she shared was outstanding. A bit of an expensive meal for 2 of us, but well worth it.
Food and service were spectacular. Our new go to for special occasions!
I went to Eddie Merlots in Lincolnshire for the first time on Saturday, and I am already craving the yellow tuna I had! I will definitely be back soon. Great job!
Absolutely top level staff - everyone has the right attitude
Eddie Merlot's is such a hidden gem and perfect for special occasions. It's atmosphere is perfect for any mood - dining in the bar gives you a sophisticated, yet casual vibe, while the dining room offers you a high end experience you don't often get anymore. And the food, including the cocktails, are always so unique.
Enjoyed the King Crab Special and wonderful table service.
Service and food very inconsistent. Took almost 1 hour to get food and half of the food was cold and that was how the whole meal went.
We love this place but if you’re going to offer king crab legs you have to serve them with shells already sliced so the patron can simply pull out the meat. If you have to charge more, that’s ok!!
When one invests both time and money in anything , one always hopes for a positive return -
At Eddy's you can be assured of a very positive return.
Dr. and Mrs. R. Farino
Lovely atmosphere and service. Oysters were awesome. Carpaccio had very little taste and served with chips. We were not impressed with that. Chateubriand for two was heavily charred but cooked perfectly on the inside. It came with nothing more than a dish of bernaise sauce which was good. Mashed potatos and baked potato were prepared well. Good meal but I much prefer Fleming's Steaks and bread which you are given the second you sit down with two homemade butter spreads. We were not offered bread till after our appetizers which was odd. Also they knew in advance it was my husband's birthday (they said Happy Birthday) but they did not bring any dessert. They did however bring birthday desserts for the two other people right around our table that were celebrating Birthdays. That was a bit of a bummer considering I was trying to make it a special night. It was awkward. So i probably will not return.
Very poor service and no one working seemed to care!
We look forward to dining at Eddie Merlots any time that we are in the Chicago vicinity. They offer more unusual options than the standard steak houses, the service is very attentive, great cocktails, and generous portions. Nice place for any type of celebration too.
food was excellent, had glazed salmon and friend had a filet that were cooked just right. we had a very good server as well
I’ve dined at the Burr Ridge location many times with service and food has been outstanding. We made reservations at the Lincolnshire location and decided to eat in the lounge area which is still white tablecloth but has a bit more casual appeal. Decor is very nice throughout. Our server was fast and brought our beverages right away. The hostess popped over, placed a card in the middle of the table and said “happy birthday to whoever has the birthday today”. Note to manager: the generic card delivery is lackluster and should be reconsidered - memorable cheap effort.
We ordered the blue cheese chips for appetizer, Caesar salad, the New Orleans grill and warm cinnamon roll with vanilla ice cream. I only wanted a bit of ice cream for my birthday treat, but the only flavor available was the vanilla (yawn), so hubby got the pastry part. All good food, except salad was without much flavor-needs a better dressing. Price is reasonable.
Found it to be very Loud and then you had to talk loud as well to ones immediate guests. When the hostess has an abundance of tables to chose from, he/she shouldn't pick the table closest to the kitchen entrance. I go to a restaurant to get away from the kitchen. The hustle and bustle of the staff is annoying!
As usual the wine was excellent. The desert was superb and my bread less onion soup was awesome. The king crab legs (special Friday deal) was adequate. I still prefer Alaskan King Crab legs from Costco! 😜
We were celebrating a birthday. Service was wonderful. I ordered crab legs as did another in our party.
I would like it more if the legs were opened. It was very difficult even with the tools. I am not young and it was hard. I had to have someone do it for me who was the other person who ordered legs. I thought
the price was good for what it was but too much work for me.
The other guests had some sort of seafood dish and loved it.
Always a great place to go and hang out in the bar and snack.
We had never been there, but it came highly recommended. One person in our party had a hearing issue, so the quiet was perfect. The service was great. The food was outstanding. We had steak and one had the sea bass. Everything was outstanding. We will go back.
Food and service was extremely good. we will visit again soon.
Steak, sides, and soups/salads were very good. The lobster addition for the steak was disappointing. Was not the same lobster I’ve had prior at this place. Chocolate cake was amazing.
same review as I wrote a month ago - best steakhouse in the area, one that I try to visit every time I am in the area.
I wonder if anyone else complained about the fact that the chairs are very low. It's not very important but it was a little uncomfortable to find a place for my legs under the table. Just asking...
Excellent food and great ambient. Highly recommended!
The 16 OZ NY Strip steak is fantastic. The creamed spinach is to die for! Martini's are properly made and very generous!
Great food, great experience!
The quality of the food was outstanding. Our waiter, Keith, could not have been more professional and attentive. Our “Hats off” to General Manager Tim Sherlock and his staff. A must visit for fine dining.
Fabulous experience as always. The hostesses were so caring and wonderful, Don our server was knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. From start to finish, a perfect night!
We went to eat there because we received a couple of gift cards. The food and the service was solid. You are going to spend the same amount if you go Mortons, Gibsons, or Wildfire. While it was good, it was not quite as good as the three previous restaurants I mentioned.
Keith is a great waiter!!!! Ribeye was perfect as were crab legs.
Always a solid choice. Great apps and interesting entrees.
Eddies did not disappoint. Fantastic food from appetizers to dessert! The Wagyu was off the charts amazing and the wine list was top tier. We wound up with the house cab even out of all of those choices and were quite impressed with its quality given the modest price point. Safe to say we will be back for seconds.
Antonio and Sue are amazing, they make sure to make every visit a fantastic experience at your location
Our server was "nice" but had a party of 13 in a room near our table and spent quite a bit of time tending to the needs of many people. We had long wait time between courses. Food was expensive for the quality.
Great Steak House: Family dinner was held there and it was all perfect even for those that are Gluten Free.
Excellent food. Be prepared to linger over dinner as plenty of time elapses between courses.
We had a terrific seafood dinner last week at Eddie Merlot's. I have an excellent Bouillabaisse with plenty of seafood and my wife raved about her Chilean sea bass. Great service and great wines.
Great night out, quiet room with very attentive wait staff with good food and wine. The only issue was that three of the four people at dinner ordered beef, one medium rare, one medium the other medium well. The chef didn't appear to know the difference or care that the orders were different as the beef on all three plates was the same, medium to medium rare.
Great experience. Entire team excelled. Food was delicious and tender. Will be back soon.
We were at EM last Friday, they had two specials going on - Lake County Restaurant Week and a crab leg special. It seemed that 80% of the people ordered the crab leg special and the waiters and busboys did not have time to provide good service. No water refills, slow to greet and provide bread. They need to staff better for these events - the quality of service was not proportional to the $
