Always a treat and great food, perfect service. Worth the drive.
Fun cocktails, delicious steaks, I recommend the gorgonzola - bacon topping, fantastic friendly service. Portions are huge so be careful. All sides are big enough to share. As are desserts.
Perfect dining experience as always. Food was fabulously prepared and service was great. Highly recommend you try this restaurant!!
Loved it and our server. Our anniversary place. Every thing is always great and fresh. Service is always way and above.
The service was wonderful - they made us feel special on our anniversary and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendation for the crab cake was spot on. The rest of the food was good, but nothing to write home about. For the price paid, I think we should have been blown away by our entrees, but we weren't. Glad we tried it, though!
Excellent food, laid-back and fun atmosphere. My husband and I took my parents there for dinner and they loved it!
Great service! Great Food! Great time!
Wonderful dining experience while in town on business.
This was my first (and last) visit to Eddie Merlot on Montgomery Road. Service was very slow (30 minutes after we were seated we had our first glass of wine and table bread). The appetizer was lukewarm when it arrived another 20 minutes later. Main courses were both overcooked and nothing special. Through no fault of our own we were the last to leave our particular dining area and staff started clearing things for the next day, carrying on conversation with each other across multiple tables.
Value? NO! (Yes, we did know the menu pricing before we went there. No, we did not receive that quality of food or service at any point in the evening)
I really don’t even want to take the time to write this. An absolute disaster of an evening. Cold food, not prepared to order, management was disgruntled and was short with wait staff which made it a very awkward environment. Drinks went infilled / addressed for over an hour. There is a reason this place was empty by 9pm.
Excellent as always and the service is incredible.
YIKES! Our server was delightful, but possibly they were understaffed, because things went downhill quickly. Couldn't get drinks, water glasses remained unfilled, dishes to share served without any serving utensils, no small plates for sharing, even after they announced they were bringing them. Wrong steak delivered, which then had to go be checked, only to return many minutes later to confirm that in fact we had NOT ordered what was delivered (which we obviously already knew....), wrong sides...... OH MY! Need I say more?
Overall experience was good; however the food quality is inconsistent. Sometimes it is fantastic and others it’s not.
The food was ok not what I was expecting for the money. Not to mention it’s pretty bad to go to a high end steak restaurant and not get your steak done the way you ordered. Overall not impressed don’t see a return trip in the future.
Good atmosphere, fair service, (slow at times) fried calamari was not crispy, root veg side was mushy, beef was good. Overall it was overpriced. We won't return.
I booked the table and when we arrived there was an anniversary card for my husband and myself already on our table. The restaurant provided us with great service and complimentary dessert for the date. (But we also ordered the baked Alaska)
Great wait staff. Great food
The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We love coming there for every occasion.
A nice place, to be sure. I’d heard strong reviews, so we decided to take my father there for his 75th birth on a Monday night. We arrived for reservations at 6:30, and only 4 or 5 table in the entire restaurant had guests. The staff is friendly and professional.
The food was good. However, for $360 (pre-tip) I actually want EXCEPTIONAL. But it just didn’t make the cut. As I travel quite frequently, I enjoy going to find a great filet, and was looking forward to another one. I actually give it 7 out of 10 stars. It wasn’t hot, and I needed to send back a medium cook because it was rare on the interior of a butterfly cut.
Ok. So no need to go there again. Maybe everyone already found out, and that’s why nobody was there on a Monday. Just not worth it, IMHO
Very good service. Very nice wine selection. Tasty beef and seafood.
Was so disappointed. Food came out 45 minutes late and it was cold. Overpriced and poor service.
This restaurant group started in Michigan and has expanded to many states, including Cincinnati, OH. This is a nice addition to our other area restaurants! As regular customers, the atmosphere and wait staff are very friendly. The Chef/kitchen can accommodate special requests, last minute but prior notice is appreciated!
The main dining area decor is very attractive with stained glass hangings, architectural features & light fixtures! Plus this area has 10+ wonderful curved/upholstery booths for 4 to 6 persons plus table options to sit larger groups as well. There are also "private room" options for big groups, that can be closed off.
The bar area is separated from the dining room, but if the "live" band is playing on Friday nights the sound does drift into dining room. This bar area is split, one area is a little more private/along the windows and the other area has a very lively & long bar seating, table/chairs, a fireplace plus tvs in both areas for sports games, etc..
We had a friendly and engaged waiter. Attentive but not intrusive. Great food. Gave a complimentary dessert for my birthday which was a nice touch. Very good experience.
We greatly enjoyed our anniversary at Eddie Merlot's. Amanda was amazing and fun to chat with. The food was so flavorful, can't wait to go back.
The wait staff is fantastic. Kudos to Howie. He makes me look good.
We consider Eddie Merlot's one of the premier restaurants in this area and the food and service have always been excellent!
Son home for the weekend
Arrived at 7:55 pm for our 8:00 pm reservation. The hostess said that they would be seating the 7:45 pm reservations shortly and that they would text me when our table was ready. We went to the bar and had a drink at one of the high top tables. We were then asked to move as the tables were only for reservations. We received a test at 8:15 pm and went to the hostess stand. There was a lot of confusion and we were finally seating at 8:20 pm - not in the main restaurant area but in a back area which is probably used most for dinner meetings for a single group. When the waiter arrived, I asked for a new water glass as it was dirty - which he agreed. He took our order and said that hot bread would be coming shortly. We finally received it 15 minutes after we were seated. The waiter apologized. We ordered and our food took forever to receive. However, 20 minutes into our wait for our food, the wait staff did deliver us food - however, it was for another table. Our meal finally came and it was overall very well prepared. Nearing the end of our meal, the room cleared out and we were the only ones remaining. The staff then began rearranging tables and chairs. Moving some tables away into another room and bringing in additional chairs. This is not the type of atmosphere I want when I spend over $150 for two people. Very disappointed and will not return. There are much better choices in Cincinnati for the money spent.
Valentines day. We share many special occasions at Eddie Merlot’s which is one of our favorite places. We visit several times per year.
This was our first time here, we usually eat down the road at a different steak house. Heard great things about EM and was not disappointed. It's a different atmosphere for sure but very nice place.our waiter was Adam and was on point with everything we wanted. The sweet and spicy shrimp was fantastic for an app, great presentation. My steak was on par with the other steak house we frequent. Perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had the new Orleans mix grill and loved it all. For dessert we had the cinnamon roll and ice cream, it was ridiculously good. I had wanted the peanut butter dessert but their chefs were not happy with their product that night so it was unavailable. I respect them sticking to their standards and I was offered a dessert if I wanted it, it was a good idea we shared the cinnamon roll it was HUGE. Overall the food and service was perfect and priced a little lower than our normal spot. Will be back again.
Celebrated 20th Anniversary.
Extraordinary food, service, and ambiance.
If you want to go to a restaurant where you are paying for the name and service only, this is the place to go. The food is nothing to rave about.
I took my wife here for a Valentine’s day dinner date and reserved for 8:30pm. We were seated after about a 30-minute wait. There were still other people ahead of us but we found out only after approaching the hostess that they erroneously gave our seat to another couple. We were hoping they’d give something complimentary because of the mix up but they didn’t offer. We just enjoyed the evening and did not want this to spoil the dinner. The chips and dip was really good. The arctic char and shrimp was a tad salty while the vegetarian pasta was on point and very delicious.
Went there for Valentines Day. Reservation for 8:15, sat at 8:45. First greet from server was 8:55. Appetizer was delicious, salad was excellent, ordered steak- strip was undercooked and ribeye was gristly
We were there for valentines. Our server Kirk was terrible. There was a table next to us and they ordered lots of drinks and promised him a good tip & that is were he put all of his focus. We waited a long time before he even acknowledged us. When he finally came over to us, we ordered a beverage and a soup and salad. He took our menu before we placed our order. We had to ask for more water, he never refilled my tea. He was holding hands with those people. He never took his eyes off them and ignored his other tables, he was the worse server I ever had. Customers should not be treated according to their liquor consumption, we got better service from the young guy clearing tables. I reported Kirk to a manger when leaving. We dine here often, I have booked numerous business dinners and several Christmas company private events here. He cost your restaurant a lot of future dollars.
We had a reservation at 7:45 for Valentines Day. We didn't get in until 8:15. there was a very loud table near us and the waiter was playing up to the people so it was noisier. We had the New Orleans Grill. The fillet was minute, BUT med. rare as we requested. the shrimp were overcooked and tough. My salad and my husband's steak tartar were good. We asks to split a bowl of ice cream for dessert as we just wanted a little something sweet. I don't know if the waiter thought it was not enough or whatever but he just kind of slung it on the table . He was very nice earlier in the evening but seemed grumpy at the end. All in all it wasn't a pleasant experience. We have eaten at Eddie Merlot's many times before and have never had this experience.
Nice place with good food very very enjoyable time
We shared the Tomahawk and it was phenomenal. Everything was perfect, fun staff with great service!
