Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Cincinnati
Great time had by all. Jenny was a great server and would go back just to have her wait on me.
Bad start, great finish. When we were seated, it took 20 minutes before the waiter came to take our drink orders and we were close to walking out (he said he had been "tied up"). The manager stopped at our table and we told him of the delay. He immediately said he would pay for our drinks. Later, he stopped by again and said they would upgrade our entrees. Finally, since it was our anniversary they gave us a wonderful creme brule for desert and a nice congratulatory note with specific details of the anniversary. The filets were excellent, tasty and cooked perfectly. Generous sides. All in all, an excellent meal. And the way the service problem handled was very classy. I would highly recommend Eddie Merlot's. It's our daughter's favorite as well.
Wow, what can I say, except it was one of the most amazing dinning experiences in a long time. We had not been to Eddie’s for about two years. The service was terrible, and the foods was disappointing. However, because it was Father’s Day, and it was my husband’s choice, so I went along. What a wonderful surprise. There is a new manager, there are new dishes. The Sesame seed crusted Ahi Tuna on a pink Himalayan salt ice block. It was amazing. We also had crab bisque soup with really fresh sweet crab meat. The Bourbon Ribeye steak was huge and delicious. All I can say is everything were delicious. The wait staff apparently were well trained, they do not come and grabbed the dishes as one of us is done, but rather waited till both of us were done to clear the table.
Howie was a spectacular waiter. He exudes kindness which is the most gracious disposition one could ask for!
Father’s Day dinner was fantastic; thanks for the great meal & ambience!
Our experience here has always been a good one. The food is delicious and the servers are attentive and personable. The manager comes to the table to make sure all is in order. We did notice the the portions seem smaller than on our first visit a few years ago. Maybe because of the new set menu items.
This is our top restaurant to go to for special occasions. The steaks are to die for and the service is top-notch! Great wine list as well.
Excellent service. Nice atmosphere and good food
Food was average as was the service
Excellent service and food. Had drinks at the bar and the bartender (Jimmy) was probably the best bartender we've ever had. Devoted to the customer and engaged with recomendations and chat.
We have been to Eddie Merlots many times and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the service is wonderful.
It was a lovely evening. Food and service were excellent.
Nice service from Kirk and everyone was polite and respectful.
We had the spring prix fix and it was absolutely delicious...LOVED the grilled romaine salad. The filet / salmon entry included fingerling potatoes do no need to order sides. And the Kentucky butter cake was AMAZING.
We haven't been to Eddie's in awhile....but so glad we decided to give it another chance! We had the ahi tuna and crab from the Prix Fixe menu and it is one of the best meals we've ever had. We paired it with the crab and corn bisque and the new grilled romaine salad. Amazing! We'll definitely be going back to have it again soon. Also, for you Eddie aficionados, Tony is back! All felt right at Eddie's once again.
We were celebrating our anniversary and visited the restaurant for the first time. We were delighted with the service and personal interaction with our server Holly. We tried sereral appetizers and found especially the crab cake was delicious. Enjoyed our main meal as well. We will definitely return in the future more for special occasions for us.
Service ambiance was all amazing! Just had better food. Ruth Christ Steakhouse is my favorite the food there to me was way better.
Excellent Waiter. Great food
The food was delicious. The only negative was that our server kept trying to get us to join the locality program. Even after we politely said we were not interested, she continued to ask us throughout our meal and also when we were finished.
Food was very good. Service was great. The only downfall is that they set us right next to the entrance to the kitchen. Very busy area where we were seated.
The food was wonderful and the same for the service. My husband and I went for our anniversary and was impressed with the card and I loved the dessert. We have been to Carlos and Jonny and would definitely come back to Eddie Merlot’s .
Great meal and service once again.
We had an excellent meal. We were celebrating our anniversary and we chose Eddie Merlot's because we have never been disappointed in our dinner choices, service or ambience.
Our 33rd wedding anniversary. Everyone made it very special.
Wonderful service and ambience . Very pricey for food that was average.
Everything was great but the temperature of the restaurant. We were seated in the booth on the left side near the wine racks with to air conditioning vents directly above. The ceiling is low there. I asked twice to get the air adjusted but it was frigid and they did not make an appropriate temperature adjustment.
We had a group of five. Plenty of space between tables. The wait staff was very attentive and dirty dishes were never left on the table long. We tried the spinach artichoke dip and I must say, it was one of my favorites. One person ordered the three course meal special, two others shared the platter sampler, another had the grilled shrimp and I had the lobster tail. We got the Mac & Cheese, Eddie’s potatoes, and the sweet potatoes. Everything was prepared as requested. We finished with desserts-monster chocolate cake, crème brûlée, blood orange sorbet, and a apple turnover with ice cream. We will be back.
Our 51st wedding anniversary. Everything was terrific.
We went to celebrate 2 couples anniversaries in May. Had drinks, appetizers, soup and meal and dessert. M-I-L paid for meals as a gift to us couples, but I suspect cost $600.00+ 20% tip. Food overall was a big disappointment considering high cost. French Onion soup was just so-so. No one raved about their meals. Service, however, was EXCELLENT! Won’t go again unless someone else insists and pays.
Another great dinner at Eddie’s! Tony and his staff are top notch. Thanks to the whole gang!
First time diners. Actually had never heard of it. Very good for the price. Delicious food. Not a fan of the desserts we shared, butter cake and apple turnover. Pastry was very rubbery. Delays between courses but overall a great experience.
Amazing! Food was delicious. Our waiter was outstanding , very attentive, and went over the top to make our night special. He brought us complementary wine tastes and dessert for our anniversary.
Very nice dining experience to celebrate Mother’s Day. Great food and attentive service.
Worst service I’ve had there. Food not up to par. Taking a break from that restaurant Too many other good choices in the same price range
With large group for Mother’s Day dinner. Reservation made but special note ignored resulting in our group waiting for 20-25 mins past reservation. Barely an apology offered. Server did well with large party however clearly steak was no where near the quality I typically receive. Ordered a NY Strip (med rare). Struggled to cut and could not chew about a 3rd of it at all (and believe me I tried)! I eat at EM’s about 3-4 times per year, this was a horrible cut of beef. I would have given 1 star for food but my salad was fine. I could have had a mediocre steak at Outback for about 1/3 or the price. If you are going to serve low quality steaks on special occasions I suggest letting your customers know or lowering your prices.
I have dined at Eddie Merlot's many times and I have to say that yesterday, Mother's day 2018 was the worst experience ever! Upon arrival we had to wait in excess of 15-20 minutes due to someone not reading my reservation comment for seating arrangements. After being seated it took another 20-30 minutes for our orders to be taken and finally the food was terrible, overcooked shrimp and cold calamari! The area we sat in was very hot and our waiter did not check on us not one time after our meal was served. I will choose other dinning options from now on.
Decidedly a step down in the general experience on Mother’s Day. Still expensive, with none of the things that make this restaurant great on a regular visit. Buffet was messy, and there was no regular menu.
This was my worst experience ever at Eddie Merlot; first and foremost my reservation was for 2:30pm and was not even seated until approximately 2:45-50pm. This was billed as a Mother's Day Brunch until 3:00pm; so as you can see something is wrong there. Once we were seated and began to go to the buffet, food was already NOT to be found. Bacon or Sausage, never showed to the buffet even though they had a place at the buffet. As I told management (and I will except blame), had I known that this was how the buffet would end up being; then I would have easily did a 4:00pm dinner reservation. To make matter worse, they had rental tables and chairs that at 3:15pm they began to dissemble the dinner room all around were we were seated. That put me over the edge, but rather than cause a scene left and waited for our party to finish (for the sake of the children). Bottom line, if you going to do this then don't make a reservation past 1 or 2:00pm; and you should be fine.
I must be fair and say management (Tony), attempted to compensate. But how much is truth in advertising worth, for me a lot more than he offered. And you asked for the review.
Eddie Merlot's and Buffet; get a 1 out of 5; Don't do it!
Amazing Mother's Day Brunch !!!!
Food was prepared to perfection! Staff was awesome! Always make us feel special😊
