Dinner was AMAZING! Kirk took great care of us. His suggestions were perfect. Everything was delicious.
Nice restaurant. The food was outstanding but the service was not so much. The waitress was not attentive and need to be reminded just to fill more water. Good for special occasion or date. The dining room was a bit dark. Filet mignon and the porkchop were amazing.
Great service, food was outstanding.
Steak good, slow service
Great place, will go again sometime. Very polite and attentive staff.
A little frustrating to pay top dollar for a steak and it was cooked medium on the one side and rare on the other.
I took a picture to post it but don’t see how to upload.
It is like the chef just forgot to flip it over and then just seared both sides without noticing the one side was never cooked.
Left a 5 star because it really is a good place and you will enjoy it.
Very disappointed! We came in to the restaurant for the first time for our anniversary and loved the atmosphere and staff but the food was not impressive. For the appetizer, we ordered the potstickers and they were not hot and were only "OK". As for the salads, they were the best part of the meal. My husband had the spinach salad and I ordered the iceberg. Then came the really disappointing entree... We ordered the classic tableside for two, Steak Au Poivre. I ordered my steak medium well and it was medium rare and both steaks had so much pepper on them that you couldn't taste anything else. By the time someone came back to ask us how our meal was, we had already had our food for at least 15 minutes and didn't have time to wait for them to prepare a new meal because we had tickets to a show directly following dinner. The macaroni and cheese was good (warm, not hot) but the mashed potatoes were greasy (warm, not hot). Needless to say, we won't be coming back. Very overpriced for what we received. I have had better dinners at Waffle House!
My husband and I came for Cincinnati Restaurant Week. The steak was perfectly cooked and fabulous, the bisque was creamy, and the salmon was so moist and delicious. The desserts were amazing. We will definitely be back.
This was our first visit - we ordered the Cincinnati Restaurant week 3 course Prix Fixe menu. Everything was delicious and the service was exceptional. We would recommend this restaurant, especially for special occasions. It appeared several dishes were finished table side, with great flair and attention to detail. We look forward to making a return visit in the near future.
Our server was Kirk.. We did the tabletop for 2.the burner was broke he had to go get another one which took several minutes then once he plated our food he forgot my shrimp w/ bacon add on and i had to wait several more minutes for that.. No apology from him at all.. And it was my 1st time there
Our choice for Great Cincinnati restaurant week, was a little disappointed when asked to change lettuce from Romain to regular salad with ongoing issue that CDC said not eat and waitress said no substitutes, really? In the end the did charge it per our request, Filet was good as always.
The food was passable - this was a Restaurant week dinner and the first thing we were told was no substitutions. That is of course fine - however the person was asking due to an allergy.
We tried Eddie Merlot’s for the first time during Restaurant Week. Delicious! We will definitely go back. Service was spot on!
Awesome Customer Service and the food was great! I would defiantly recommend this restaurant!
Great dinner. The crab cake was my favorite, but everything was excellent. Our service was some of the best I’ve ever had.
The worst part was that we were seated near the kitchen even though there were many tables available. Other than that, everything was great!
Such a pleasure to dine at Eddie Merlot's. Pork chops and NY strip were outstanding.
The food was excellent and the service was very good.
Everything was great. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Excellent steaks and service as always has been so at Eddie Merlot's. They made special note of this particular visit being for our 44th wedding anniversary, with a very thoughtful, customized, card and note at our table upon arrival. And noting that it was two couples, not one, sharing the same anniversary weekend they added an extra crème brûlée at no charge to the one we had ordered to share. Above and beyond thoughtfulness was illustrated. We'll be back for our 45th next year, and probably also before then a time or two.
Had been one previous time and had a great dinner. This time, not so much. Waitress spent far more time with other tables than with us, often making us feel rushed when she did arrive. My wife did not receive her salad and we were never brought bread. While the appetizers were fine, my medium-rare ribeye was nearly blue in the center. But at that point, we just wanted to be done so we didn't say anything. Our waitress only warmed up to us at the end of the evening when she retrieved our check and saw the $70 tip (which speaks more to the size of the bill rather than the level of service). If I am spending well north of $400 for a dinner for 3, I expect things to be pretty much perfect start to finish. Can't imagine returning.
We hadn’t been in a few years and we were more than pleasantly surprised. Our servers Kirk and Randall were outstanding. The food was excellent and priced fairly for the high quality. The interior makes it a bit noisy (all hard surfaces) but not awful. For two people it was not hard to hear each other but a group would make it more difficult. We will definitely return very soon
I frequently come to Eddie Merlot’s for dinners. My wife and I were a little surprised by the attire allowed for a number of guests. Similarly, we had a number of families with very young children that did make significant noise and distraction.
We normally always wear dress casual, however there were some diners that came in with ripped jeans, T-shirt’s and even sweatpants and sweatshirts. I found it to be a little too informal. Similarly, I understand allowing children, but maybe seat them in a quieter area to allow for less distraction.
Service was good. Crab cakes ere good but filet tasted like pot roast and had the same consistency as a roast. Disappointing experience.
Birthday dinner. I was made to feel welcome and special. The food is amazing as well. Great special occasion restaurant. Holly was our server and she was great!
Our server Randal was exceptional. He gave good recommendations, he was very attentive and friendly,
Everything was perfect. Our server Taylor, was attentive and very personable. The chateaubriand was prepared perfectly. The carrot cake for dessert was the perfect touch with coffee.
What a wonderful experience!! This was for my boyfriends birthday and we were late yet they had a special booth still ready for us. Had a birthday card at the table for him and treated his 8 year old daughter like she was a princess. I wish I remembered our servers name... he was so absolutely amazing and knowledgeable and helpful! Thank you to the entire staff for going above an beyond to make this moment more special than we could have hoped!!! UBER impressed!! I have dined at EVEZY high end restaurant within a 100 mile radius and I cannot say enough about how awesome this experience and the food was!! Kudos to you and I cannot thank you all enough!!
Excellent Service , Excellent Steak
Howie and Mark provided the best service.
Their attention to detail is second to none.
We haven't found a better restaurant in Cincinnati.
So disappointing from entering to leaving. Had a reservation for 3. Sat down to a table placed for 4. Had to ask for extra place setting to be removed. Menus were pushed on us as we were sitting down. Service was very slow. Cancelled drink orders because service was so slow. Server was much more interested in talking with another table! Parker waited for his tip rather than opening our car doors. Do not plan to ever return!
Eddie Merlot's is always a great experience. The service was impeccable, and the food well prepared and seasoned. I highly recommend it!
We have been dining at Eddie Merlot since their arrival to Cincinnati/Montgomery. Staples such as the smokin’ shrimp, exquisite entrees, table-side bananas foster and the best coffee service ever keep us coming back.
Jason was our server. He was attentive yet respectful. Good sense of humor and friendly.
I would recommend Eddie Merlot to anyone looking for a special dining experience. Or if you want a more casual night out, enjoy plates at the bar on Sunday when select bottles of wine are half price.
Made reservation thru OT restaurant for 7pm restaurant called at 6:10 to say buffet option only ??? Said OT made the mistake. Ok no other option so we went, big disappointment buffet was bare and what food was there appeared to have been there for a while. I believe with high prices should come a high level of service the manager could have helped to smooth things over by coming to our table but that didn't happen :( oh well live and learn
A dish that was advertised wasn't offered. The food was lukewarm instead of hot. Parts of the Buffet were very slow to be replenished.
Not a good Easter brunch! The carving station meat was cold. Coffee service was very slow. Some warmer items were left too long and should have been renewed.
Waiter was great! Food was ok. Our reservations were at 3 which was when the dinner buffet started and lots of items were not brought out until 315-330. Never did bring shrimp cocktail . Probably won’t come for a buffet again
In one word, |superb." Everything was outstanding from the hors d'ouevres to dessert. Lovedthe addition of fresh oyster, King crab, and smoked salmon. All was excellent. I understood that they would be serving oysters Rockeller for dinner but didn't stay. We were happily finished and couldn't eat one more thing.
Awesome Easter Brunch! Many options! The beef tenderloin was superb, as well as the Caesar salad, Creme Brulee french toast & sides. Desserts were delicious! Service was impeccable!
The food was good the fire alarms went off several times, that was awful. The line for omelettes was horrendous and blocked part of the buffet. The worst part was so little breakfast items. No eggs except the omelettes and that wait was terrible. Brunch means breakfast and lunch. There were some waffles and a destroyed looking French toast casserole, you need more breakfast items. Publish your brunch menu the next time so people know
We went for Easter Brunch. The food was pretty mediocre, especially for the price. We were seated at a table in the middle of the room with people and waiters rushing past us the whole time. So, not very relaxing. For about 20 minutes of our 45 minute experience, the fire alarm was sounding at full blast. We didn't know if we should evacuate or not. Finally, a waiter told us that the kitchen was not on fire so we should stay seated. The fire department responded. We all just sat there wondering what was going on We could not make conversation or eat the food in peace because the alarm was so noisy. Some Easter Brunch. :( So, won't be doing that agin any time soon.
One of THE best holiday brunches I have EVER experienced.
