Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Cincinnati
Need to book at 10:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Jamie’s was our server and he was great. The food was excellent and the only downfall was that we wanted to try the BBQ Shrimp appetizer and they were out of it. We sat at a high top table and although busy, not crowded and not noisy.
My husband tried the Wagyu Steak and I had a Filet Mignon and both were fork tender. No steak knives needed.
We will go back for sure!
Table was wobbling. We asked to have something to put under the leg but to no avail. When you spend $200 for a meal for 2 the least you could get is a sturdy table. They were out of the bourbon ribery at 6 pm. That is what I wanted to try. Settled for the strip. Good steak. Service could have been a little better for the type of restaurant but it was good.
Too expensive. Though the food was generally good, I was disappointed in the steak flavor and found the shrive to lacking.
Adam, our server was wonderful. We also received a visit from management. But this was because the steaks were overcooked. Understanding that it was a long Valentine’s Day weekend and the kitchen was overloaded. Our intention was to make the staff aware. We were disappointed. We were also provided complimentary wine and dessert. Thank you! 😬
Great food as always! Logan was our server and he was awesome.
Extremely busy and although and early dining time and we were on time, dinner service was very delayed and we were late for a play. We sat idle for a long time between apps/ salads and dinner, so very rushed to consume a very expensive cut of beef. Needless the say the enter could not be savored and enjoyed. Drinks were offered but you can only buy and consume so much given we had to drive to the play in Cincinnati. Also, it was our sons 30th birthday and a complimentary dessert was order, and very delayed delivery to the table, we had to leave but waitress saw us on way out. We got the dessert and had the leftovers. When I reviewed the bill we were charged for the dessert. So much for the complimentary dessert for the birthday.
Always a good value for steak and seafood. Staff are great!
Way to expensive. We thought the meals were good, but the prices were much higher than expected and the food wasn't that extraordinary. We won't be back.
Food was good. I ordered my steak (New York strip), medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well. I like eating dinner WITH my wife, so I didn't send it back, but let the server know. To make up for it we got a dessert of our choice on the house.
Great service. Thomas was an exceptional server at the Cinci location.
Hostess were rude and quoted short waits, but the dining experience when being sat was amazing.
Long wait but once we got to our table everything was great. Service and food were outstanding!
Our reservation was for 10 pm and we didn’t get seated until 10:50 pm. My husband ordered a ribeye cooked medium well. It came medium rare. So I had to eat my salmon alone while they cooked his steak. It came back like shoe leather. At this point, we sent the steak back and my husband asked for a few shrimp because he was starving. It’s now 11:30 pm and he still has not eaten. Finally got the shrimp. At this point, my husband is so tired, he is just falling asleep. Do not waste your time or your money.
Had reservations for Valentines Day and was seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. When we went to order they were out of nearly everything we wanted. They had no macaroni, corn casserole, ranch dressing or Prosecco. Not to mention the steak my husband order had to sent back 3 times and still was never well cooked. To be our first time here it was definitely disappointing.
Eddie Merlots is to McDonald’s as Applebee’s is to McDonald’s.
Trash with a bow on it is still trash.
Last 3 times attended the food has been subpar. Meats not cooked to liking and the banana foster tastes like merely bananas and ice cream.
Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food!
We visited during Valentine's Day but out time between being seated and served was egregious. We were sat at a little before 9pm and did not get our food until almost 11pm. The waiter said he put it in and we were like that response is unacceptable because you put it in but others have sat after us and received before us. A manager came over and said he would expedite the order and do something for us. We had our 5 month old child with us which he acknowledged and apologized for the wait. Our food came about 20mins later and the sides were cold and the Salmon my wife ordered was overcooked and charred somehow. We sent it back and it eventually was corrected but by this time it was well after 11pm. We tried to be patient and understanding but somehow we were forgot about. They removed the Salmon off the bill yet still charged for the steak and potatoes. I do not mind paying for a good meal but when its 2hrs late and cold when you get it then as a courtesy something should be done to make me feel valued as a customer. We had high hopes for Eddie Merlots and after visiting other premier steakhouses in the area our experience here would easily rate them last unfortunately
It was a great Valentine’s Day with my husband and daughter!!
We had a wonderful 33rd Anniversary/Valentine dinner. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Erick was our waiter and he made the night!!
Do not go on a holiday as they over book their reservations! We had 7:45 reservations, got seated around 8:25 and food came out at 9:45! Disappointing to say the least. Our waiter also was more interested in the table next to us vs taking care of us! For $200 this was terrible!
For many years we have dined at Eddie's on New Year's Eve & Valentine's Day, both busy dining evening, but we have always had a very good experience - in fact- this past New Year's Eve was excellent. Friday, Valentine's Day, was the worst dining experience we have had in many years. We had reservations for a party of eight. We were seated late after our reservation time by 15 minutes. That would have been fine if the rest of the evening went well, but it didn't. Ordered and received our cocktails in a decent amount of time. We had to ask to order appetizers yet our overall order was not taken and we sat with menus in our laps or under our appetizer plates for almost an hour! We had to ask our often absent server to take our dinner order and for a second round of cocktails. The 2 and 4 top surrounding us, who were seated after us, were served their entree, before we could order. We asked more than once about our meals as it had been almost two hours since we ordered and we had been there 3 hours at this point. Our server told us they going to serve over 800 people that night so some delays were to be expected. We asked for the manager, disappointed with the lack of empathy & accountability for our meals taking over two hours. Once our food did finally arrive the entrees were awful. The pork chops were still pink in the middle. a medium well steak was red in the middle, a medium rare steak was closer to well done - no pink, the scallops were over cooked & rubbery, and the Eddie's potatoes were brown and crispy on top. The restaurant did finally remove the entree charges from the bill -we each left most or all of our entrees as they were not enjoyable at best and in edible for some. Not sure we will be going back. Mistakes occur, but how the restaurant handles the unfortunate situation is everything and Eddie's failed us.
Amazing dinner and service as always!
It was Valentines Day and they had over 750 reservations.
Our server was named Christian and he was excellent.
We were seated at a high top table in the bar area with reservations, and unfortunately, right in the entrance to the bar where everyone gathered and stood and hung out.
Was difficult to have a conversation, and felt like they were all watching us as we ate.
Would definitely request someplace closer to the main dining room next time.
When you're spending almost 200.00 on food, you expect exceptional service. This was not the case. Valentines day was a nightmare. They were more concerned with quantity of guests than quality. I dont blame the server for horrible service, I blame the fact she was triple sat numerous times leaving all her current tables unattended for extremely long periods and never did I see managment offering support or checking on tables. Food was just Ok. Not what you expect for price point. Such a disappointment. Maybe the establishment is better on non-holidays?
Excellent as always. Perfect meal, perfect service by Holly, seating request honored, not rushed at all even with it being so busy on Valentine's Day. Loved the specials for the holiday - the bone-in filet was amazing as was the Chocolate Dessert plate. Thanks for making our celebration super special.
This was my first time at Eddie Merlots. I had heard it was amazing with excellent service so I was excited to try it. The service was the same as I have gotten at Longhorn. The steak was ok. The potato croquettes were amazing but overall I am not sure it was worth the extra expense. Don’t get me wrong the food was good the service was good but the food and service is just as good at Longhorn. I probably won’t go back.
Couldn’t get my steak right. Had to send it back 3 times. For the prices and expectations, you’d expect better services.
Reservation for 6:15 and we were seated right at 6:15 or a few minutes after. I think we had the best seat in the house facing the fire place. Holly did an excellent job with our service. The place was packed when we walked in and when we left at 830. We had appetizers through dessert. All courses were timed well, food temperature was appropriate, and cooked to our request. It was an excellent evening with my Honey for Valentine's day. We enjoyed every minute!
Food was great, see ice was great!
great food and service. Couldn't have asked for better for valentines day
We waited a little longer than I think we should have, even with it being Valentine’s Day. However, our server gave us free desserts for our wait. Food was excellent!
I requested bar seating, we were given a table. My husband ordered a bone in filet medium and it came rare. He requested it be cooked more and it came back medium rare at best. My steak was also ordered medium and came out medium rare at best. The loaded potato croquettes were room temperature. The manager comped my husband’s steak which we appreciated but we expected a much better dinner from “One of Cincinnati’s Best Steak” establishments.
As usual it was a great experience. Arrived at our reserved time and were led straight to our table. The waiter was awesome and engaged with us through the period. Had a great time and will be back soon. Thanks.
We were celebrating a milestone birthday & had a table of 8! Everything came out perfectly & we all enjoyed every bite!
We had an early Valentines dinner on Thursday the 13th we were running late for our reservations and they were very gracious to understand . We also had a fantastic waitress by the name of Taylor she was a pleasure and was very good at her job. The food was fantastic with my husband commenting that he felt the quality was up there with a Rubys restaurant. We will definitely be back!!
Great Food Service and Value during very busy Valentines Weekend.
