Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Cincinnati
We went out on a Tuesday to celebrate my wife’s birthday. What a great decision. We were greeted by Alan the manager and were very well taken care of. We will be going back real soon to have more steak and desserts!
I've had better steaks at other restaurants in the Cincinnati area.
Plus, the noise level was high even though the place was not crowded.
Eddie Merlot's continues to be a "Go To" spot and is always great and welcoming.
Excellent steaks. The Prime Ribeye was perfect as was the Elk steaks
Dead on service without being disruptive
Great wine list.
Way to expensive for what you get. Good steak but not great. Many other steak houses to choose from.
Lobster and shrimp appetizers were very disappointing
Our waiter Pierre was very amicable and efficient. His recommendations did not compare to his likeability. We thought the food, especially the salmon burger, was really not very good.
Nice evening with friends
We all found the food to be to salty. Our server was nice. they need more help. It took a long time to get food and for our server to take our entree order. They are friendly but needs to be run more efficiently.
Mediocre was not what I was looking for when planning a nice meal for my husband's birthday. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were seating in a comfortable well adorned area of the restaurant. The restaurant was not busy, but it took over twenty minutes for ordering for our food to arrive. My husband ordered a 12 ounce steak which was tiny in comparison to the plate it was served upon. The sides ere well prepared and helped to give the steak some flavor. I ordered cedar plank salmon. The salmon served described on the menu was not what I received. The flavor was not detectable except for a garlic based sauce that was drizzled across it. I was surprised the salmon stuck to the plank. Surrounding the fish was sauteed spinach and fingerling potatoes. Both of which were served nearly cold. In reading the website, my expectations were sadly disappointed at the end result. I left hungry, and his birthday meal was lacking in many aspects.
Great foods and great service
This was one my top 10 dining experience,it was simply exceptional.
we ate in the bar area for my husbands birthday. he order the e-burger off of the bar menu and said it was the best burger that he has had. I ordered the Bison Filet off of the regular menu and it was delicious. We split a kale salad and the cauliflower. They brought us a creme brulee for a free dessert.
Outstanding waiter! Very attentive. Will be back to try the new menu starting soon.
Great service from Pierre ... food was excellent
Wife and I went for our anniversary. The service was great. We made reservations and we’re sat right away. They called the same day to confirm reservation and asked if we were celebrating anything special. They presented us with a Happy Anniversary card when we were sat. The noise level was a little loud. The food was very food. I had the Waldorf salad and the filet and my wife had the onion soup and filet. All were very delicious. I had two glasses of wine and at the end we were presented with a complimentary Creme brûlée for dessert for our anniversary. For dinner for two plus tip we were close to $200 for the whole evening. I thought it was a little overpriced, but we still greatly enjoyed the experience. I do recommend Eddie Merlots for any special occasion.
We love the bar area to dine. It’s always fun. The service was outstanding and the food as well. We will definitely go back. One of our favorite places to dine.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, food was outstanding, prepared as ordered.
Another wonderful meal with our friends at Eddies. Crab legs were to die for and the wine was outstanding.
Our evening at Eddie’s was very nice. The food and service will bring us back for another visit.
Dear To Whom It May Concern,
You sent me this email to thank me for choosing Eddie Merlot's for dinner. I now will turn the table to thank you for granting my family and me to one of the most exquisite dinner I had in a longgggg time. We celebrated my daughter's birthday who is usually hard to please but she smiled all the way home. So did I.
The service was above excellent and the ambiance tasted as good as the steak. Again, thank you for your time and service. I will never forget it.
Wonderful waiter Aaron helped make our experience great. I had shrimp and grits which was perfect. I think it is a more recent addition to menu and was a winner. Enjoyed banana foster prepared at table. Single complaint was the dimness of lighting which promotes sleepiness, in my opinion. All around I give it 4.5/5 everyone enjoyed their meals, service a beautiful room.
Disappointed that the "smoking" shrimp cocktail presentation has been eliminated.
Dinner was great. However, I wish they would have hash browns on the menu as a side and coconut pie. Some of the parmesan fries were unevenly cooked. Spinach Salad was good. Our server Randel was great. Alan the manager was nice. He greeted us and remembered us as previous customers.
Always great. good value and taste; great for business or a date
Excellent food and service. Waitress was very helpful and conversed with us. Definitely go back!
Filet sliders and the salmon burger, off of the lounge menu, were not good. It was worst salmon burger and sauce on the burger I had ever had. The truffle fries were good. The Asian lettuce wrap were good too. Nice happy hour prices on wine. Would try again, just not get those two items. Sometimes those things happen, we will come back.
Our experience was good overall, Aaron was very nice. We were celebrating our son's 18th birthday and his first time in a higher end steak house. Although we did have some hiccups the corn casserole was like soup so we exchanged that out for the mac and cheese, his girlfriend ordered her steak medium well and we were very clear had a long conversation, it came out medium rare for sure, and never got the bread when we were suppose to, finally Aaron got some out to us. Everything else we ordered was very good and the atmosphere was good. It was not busy at all. Hoping the next time is better.
We had a great dinner. Our waiter Aaron was fantastic. 😁
Eddie Merlot's is one of our favorite special occasion places to go. The food is always excellent and our server, Ted, went above and beyond! Loved it!
The food was under seasoned and under cooked.
The sides were sub par.
It was dinner with clients of mine in the area and I get out that way once a quarter. After the dinner we had I won't be back going forward.
Dinner with friends
This is still one of our favorite restaurant in town. My tea service was good. Christian our server was probably fairly new, tried to take our order when we just got barely seated. He did well after I told him we need a few minutes. There were a couple of things that were rectified by the manager. He came by our table at least twice, to make sure everything was as suppose to be. We ordered the Lobster escargot, will never order it again. I think they either grounded up or chopped into minute pieces. It was tasteless. It certainly was not the escargot we are used to or recognized. They should either re-do the recipe or simply remove the item. The other item, was the dessert. My husband ordered Peach Cobbler. We waited at least 30 minutes, until no sho. Good enough the manager came by the table to check if everything was OK. Within a couple of minutes the dessert showed up. The manager was certainly on top of things.
As expected. We raise our own beef and my wife claimed her strip to be the best steak she had ever eaten. Corn casserole was a bit salty for my taste. Desserts were delish. Carrot cake as big as your face.
Outstanding service from the staff at Eddie Merlot’s. After being served a steak that was much closer to a medium rare vs the medium that was ordered, not only were they prompt in correcting the issue, the manager delivered the dish to the table himself and apologized for the error. Highly recommend to anyone who would want to attend.
Took my husband here for his birthday... he says it may be his new favorite restaurant. The shrimp cocktail was delicious, and he really enjoyed his filet mignon. The specialty cocktails were wonderful and the wine selection was very nice. I had the yellowfin tuna and it was very tasty, and since it was served seared rare, it was cool. Unfortunately the veggies and rice underneath it were cool too. Perhaps it should be served in a different configuration to ensure the hot items stay hot.
We were seated in the smaller room in the rear of the restaurant and the noise level was low, however when we were leaving and walked through the larger part of the restaurant, it seemed much noisier. I would always ask to sit in the smaller room.
We love coming here. Nice to be recognized by the manager and bar tender.
Brought our son and his girlfriend out for his birthday.
Always a good experience.
It was absolutely perfect. The waitress, the food, all were absolutely amazing. Eddie never disappoints!
