This restaurant is exceptional and outstanding
Great food wonderful drink concoctions, desserts and meals to die for !
Not Many places around like this one any longer,
Nothing but loud sports bars with below average bar foods is all that’s around
This place is sheer class, gorgeous to sit in and a pleasure to dine !
This is a dining experience !!
Food and service were very good. The restaurant isn't designed well to reduce the noise level.
We had a young lad at the table down from us that was very noisy and misbehaving. No effort was made to quiet the young boy. It made my dining experience not so good. They need sound deadening to keep down the offensive noise level.
My first time there and I gave to say from start to finish, the service , the food was excellent. No I like good bison and I have to say the bone in bison rib eye (117g of protein ) cooked at chefs suggestion was superb. I'd get this again in a heart beat.
Jeton was our server and he did an excellent job! He gave us time to relax! Dan had the bison filet and I had the grilled salmon and both were excellent! As always, we had a great time at Eddie's and will be back!!
Veronica was our "server" and she did a great job! Jerry was "assisting" her and he will be a great serverone day!!! 🤗 One of us had the salmon with fingerling potatoes and sautéed spinach and one had grilled shrimp with wild rice. Both Jerry and Veronica were excellent and made our dining experience, once again, a lovely time for us!!
The ambiance was great, unique and elegant decor. The food was very average. My husband and I had the chateaubriand. It lacked flavor and didn't taste seasoned at all. We ordered it prepared medium and the outside was overly charred and the inside was red. Not worth $105. The sides were good (mashed potatoes and asparagus). The king crab and corn bisque soup had good flavor, but would be better with a couple actual chunks of crab in it. The appetizers of oysters on the half shell were very fresh and probably the highlight of the meal. Service was friendly but slow. We waited about 10-15 minutes with empty water glasses before they were refilled and our waiter did not check in with us often enough to see if we needed anything else. I'm typically not a picky person, but when I'm paying the price of Eddie Merlot's, I expect more. For quality of food and service, I would choose Morton's or Gibson's hands down over Eddie Merlot's.
Great food and service
Fun and lively place. Sat in the bar for a quicker bit to eat. Unfortunately service was rather slow and took over an hour to get our meal. Food was tasty and well portioned. Will likely come back but disappointed that the service was so slow. It looked to me that this was a kitchen issue and not a server issue.
Our server was Bobby and he was excellent! We started out with the oysters rockfeller. Our entrees were the cedar plank salmon and the bison fillet. Everything was excellent, as always!!
Creme Brûlée was delicious! Jerry was great suggested I get Brussel sprouts over creamed spinach. Thanks Jerry! He was very attentive. I’m a sucker for any restaurant that uses the crumb scraper... class- Lol. I had surf and turf. Oh almost forgot the crab cake is the bomb!
Great food, better service they exceeded high expectations!
Probably the best brunch I have ever had
We stopped in twice last week for Sensational Seafood, once for the Arctic Char Del Mar and once for perch. We both thought the Char was exceptional. We split the difference on the perch.
My wife enjoyed the Fish and Chips very much. I wasn't so fond of the Sauteed Perch w/ rice and ragout. I would say it was prepared well but even so it was not to my liking.
Terrific meal and outstanding service from Raymundo and Ismael. The dry-aged tomahawk melted in our mouths and the baked alaska was the perfect coup de grace. Thank you!
Jetton was our server and he did an excellent job! He did a great job explaining the entrees! We started out with oysters rockfeller, our entries were the cedar plank salmon and the lamb chops. This was another great dining experience!!
Great food and service. The restaurant was pretty empty for lunch. I had a great time at the restaurant.
Birthday party
Delicious food. Fabulous service. Always a great experience!!
Receptionist accommodated seating request - nice.
Waitress was great.
Manager schmoozes just enough.
Service however, had some missteps like when we ordered two appetizers and they only delivered one. So they basically forgot our other appetizer we ordered. So they were served appetizers serially.
Sauce for ribeye steak order forgotten when entrees were brought to the table. Then remembered by server and brought later.
I think the kitchen staff was overwhelmed so our service reflected their inefficiencies.
Also we waited quite a bit between salads and main course and again from main course until dessert. So 3 hours seemed at least 30 minutes longer than it should have been.
Be prepared to be served slowly.
If you order a salad beware - portion is extremely large - more than enough for two to split.
And desserts are also very large.
Not dying to go back - maybe in a year or two or longer.
Too many other places around for a steak dinner.
Excellent food and great service! Loved the Crab and Avocado salad, King Crab and corn bisque, Veal, and Arctic Char. New Roasted Root Vegetables were outstanding.
Amazing first experience!
Special event wine tasting with menu matched with wines was outstanding.
Geoff was our server and he was quite informative to us and the new server he was training! Geoff recommended the sea bass with the Del Mar for me and it was excellent! Dan had the cedar plank salmon and that is always a great choice!
They plucked a five star restaurant from the gold Coast and put in within reach of the burbs, loved it!
The restaurant is stunning! The service was great but some of the food fell short. The appetizer tempura shrimp was incredible! The descriptions of the burgers sounded so good that I went with their classic prime burger.....unfortunately, it was over done and seriously, no taste to it at all. Hopefully their other options are good....my friend had the crab avacado salad and that looked amazing.....should've gone with that. It was my BD and I was very surprised to get a FULL delicious creme brulee from them.....little did they know that's my FAV! I would still go again because of the ambiance and service.
Kyle was our server and he was great ! We brought a friend and Kyle was very helpful to him! We had oysters as an appetizer and they were great! Dan had the bison filet and our friend, Tony and I had the Artic char with crab and shrimp. Everything was excellent , as always! Our friend thoroughly enjoyed himself and was impressed with our server and the others as well!
Had a fabulous evening dining at Eddie Merlot’s tonight! Wonderful service and delicious food!
Excellent as always. I actually come HERE everytim e I'm here from California
Always a marvelous experience. Fine dinning at its best. We love it there! 🎅🤶
Outstanding staff - very attentive and professional. And menu/ food quality also outstanding.
We had a lovely evening as we always do at Eddie's! The staff is wonderful and make us feel welcome! Carisis was our server and was very attentive to our low sodium diet needs. We had the bison filet and the artic char and they were excellent!
The restaurant is so beautiful! It is one of the nicest looking restaurant I have ever seen. Besides the decor, the food was excellent and the service was fantastic. I would definitely come back again.
Dependable restaurant if you are looking for great food and good service.
The food and service were very good. I liked everything but the noise level in the restaurant. The noise is so very loud that I cannot hear my table mates discussion.
Good. We’ll be back!
Great food, Bobby was friendly yet professional as our server.
I found the portions very small for the amount being charged. The $105 Bone in Rib Eye of 32 oz was more of a 20 oz bone and 10 oz steak. The side dishes for the price were also extremely cheap in portion. Service was good. Good restaurant but price is getting overboard. I usually go here 3 to 4 times a year but their is a lot of competition out there now for better price / Value
We were delighted to be able to enjoy the Surf & Turf special. . .served on Sunday and Monday's in March. Great value for the dollar and soooo delicious! Also, glad the half price special for bottles of wine is back this Spring. Looking forward to returning to enjoy the Lenten Dinner offerings.
As always the service was superb.
Leo was our server and he was an excellent server. We had the plank salmon and it was delicious. We always enjoy our evening at Eddie Merlot's.
Really just OK.
My family of six visited the Burr Ridge location on 3/2/18 with an 8pm seating.
First time impression...I thought I was in a banquet hall. The pics on their website are generic and are not representative of the Burr Ridge location however the beautiful Murano glass fixtures & comfy fireside lounge chairs somehow conflicted with everything else in the place.
Something just seemed off.
Seating and fireplaces seemed cozy if you were lucky enough to be placed in those dining areas which we weren't.
Our table of six was situated in a side back room in a corner which was cheesy & dank. There was an air freshener plugged into the outlet which wreaked and we un-plugged. Also in the back room was a family of 30...with at least 8 (whiny/ crying) kids under the age of 5 at 9 pm at night.
Initially the service was slow but when our server Ana caught her breath, she was alert and kind.
Our bill for 6 adults which included 2 bottles of wine ($80 & $64) and 4 cocktails ($7, $9, $11, $14 was ~$800.
I've eaten at all the great steak houses in Chicago and across the country and just expected more from the other reviews posted; plus I also wanted to try somewhere else new and impress my family.
I just didn't think this place stood out at all amongst their competitors especially for the price. To me it's all about the perceived value and they all try to have their own twist of special service. Eddie Merlots is competing with Smith & Wollenski's, Gibsons, Mortons, Capital Grill, Chicago Chop, Mastro's, Gene & Georgettis, Bavette's, Prime & Provisions, Benney's etc; all try to deliver exceptional service and quality but at the end of the day, I will vouch for several other local independent steak houses where the meals are just as good if not better and the actual value is the best...hands down.
Sorry I won't return on my hard earned dime...
