Came in with three other gentlemen, we have been to quite a few steakhouses. All four of our steaks were undercooked, 3 ordered medium rare would’ve been considered near raw (black and blue) at any reputable steakhouse, the fourth steak was ordered medium well and would’ve been considered medium rear anywhere else. We’re not ones to complain so we did not raise the issue and therefore cannot say how they would’ve rectified it. However, when you’re in the seaport in Boston and your dinner tab runs you $800 for four folks you’d expect a level of quality not below those found at discount chain restaurants.
If you’re like me and question why what appears to be a higher end steakhouse has a reservation open last minute on a Saturday, don’t, it’s because this restaurant isn’t worth it.
Great ambience and delicious food
Excellent food and service and ambiance
Diego was very knowledgeable with the menu & wine list. Great service as always
Ribeye and filet were excellent. Creamed spinach was as well. Fries were just ok but all in all, a great dinner with awesome drinks !
Great food nice setting would recommend as a good date night or a great spot to have dinner
Great food and menu selection! My only complaint were a few of the side dishes, Eddie’s potatoes were extremely oily and the broccoli was very plain. We love brussel sprouts but they were not crispy and read other reviews they weren’t very good. Beautiful restaurant and great service. Very impressed with dessert menu and table side preparation!
Everything was excellent but my overcooked steak.
Had a great time! The service was exceptional. And the food was fantastic. Will definitely recommend coming here.
My buddy’s BD but EM was not our first choice, but Bottom Line it was exceptional. First Class service led by Robin our server, excellent food, we had porterhouse, filet and rib-eye all expertly prepared. Sides of various potatoes and veggies equally delicious. Good wine list at price points. Can’t say enough how good it was.
LOVE how this restaurant caters to woman!
Our Server CJ was very professional as attentive to our needs and requests. CJ was extremely knowledgeable about the items on the menu
Great steak and classic steak house experience
This was our first time here. The place was beautiful and the food was good. The only thing was the service we ordered appetizers first salad and calamari. The waiter asked if we wanted bread we said yes. He came back saying breads not done yet. I find this a bit shocking as they opened at 5pm this was 5:15pm. They should have had the bread done earlier for dinner. We asked for extra dressing came after we finished our salad. I feel that a restaurant that is upscale the staff should be as well as ours seemed new possibly. We also had to wait for our bill. Food was great but needs a bit of help in service.
Probably one of the best steakhouses I been, I am an avid steak person and this definitely won my vote.
Excellent menu selections. Food and service are spectacular.
Amazing. The food was as good if not better than any other steak house in boston. I had the halibut. Which was amazing. My boys had the New York strip. Spinach dip and steak pot stickers for apps. Everything was so so good. Welcome to seaport
Sat at bar for meal and pretty much ignored by bartender which was surprisingly since only three others sitting at the bar.
Steak was good, sides and appetizers were bland
Just exceptional. Definitely will be back.
It was great but way too hot inside. No ac or something
Food was good, but the service was subpar. The waiter took a bit to get us our food and was also sweating profusely, which was not elite. Overall 3 out of 5.
Great food and service
I will be back!
Nothing special. Wasn't a fan of the decor, drinks were OK, steak was not worth the price. Sides were just ok as well. Overall an underwhelming experience
The food was great just like you would expect from any other high end steakhouse or fine dinning restaurant in Boston. Service was great and the atmosphere was great for dinner.
They price themselves to be a seafood place but they can’t cook calamari. The worst ever! Over cooked beyond comprehension and excessive batter.
Then we ordered bananas foster for dessert and they put out a nice show cooking them at the table. The result was a tasteless dessert.
The portions are stingy.
We will not go back again.
This was our first time dining here our server diego was excellent. The food was great especially the crab cake with corn relish. We will definitely be back.
Decided to try this place out for Dine-out Boston and it didn’t disappoint. Compared to other steak and seafood restaurants, Eddie Merlot’s dine-out Boston menu offered a lot of choices including surf and turf without additional charges. The grilled mahi-mahi and blackened salmon were delicious and service was great! My friends and I enjoyed our dinner and we’ll definitely be back soon!
We’ve been to Eddie Merlots a few times and each time it’s been really great. We went last night for restaurant week. Menu was very good. My only negative was that our main turned up whilst we were still on our apps and at first it felt like we were being rushed. But otherwise all very good!
Diego!! The absolute best waiter ever ! Beyond exceptional customer service ! I’ll will be back! He’s definitely a great part of the team and makes me want to come to Eddie Merlots!
We did not enjoy this outing at all. Huge salad was all lettuce and cabbage.
The sorbet was a snow cone. I could go on to include the poor service, but you get the idea. Morton's and Palm far superior.
We wanted to try Eddie Merlot's and booked during Dine Out Boston. We typically don't spend $40+ on steaks! We started with a large very tasty Caesar salad, Steak Diane and Peaches and Cream for dessert. The loaf of bread they served with dinner was also wonderful. Service was impeccable and everything was so tasty and well presented. In all of my years trying out new restaurants for Dine Out/Restaurant Week, this was by far my favorite experience. Such a deal for $38 for three courses. I will return again for my next special occasion. Keep up the outstanding work!
Prix fixe portions smallest I’ve ever seen! Plank salmon asked to be cooked well done-frozen/raw in the middle, lobster Mac and cheese soupy, clam chowder watery, waiter was attentive..probably won’t go back
We enjoyed our dinner very much and had attentive service from our server Juan. Since it was our anniversary, we were treated to a complimentary dessert which we both enjoyed.
Not enough servers available so we had to wait for more than 30 minutes with a reservation.
We had problems that night. Noise level was high. It took a long time to get our main course. When my rare steak finally came it was nearly cold. I was so hungry i didn't complain. but my partner's well done was not really medium and when she asked that it be cooked more it was not much better. she didn't eat her steak. maybe an off night since i haven't been there before but no kudos for service. not really up to par. and parking is wild. you have to park in the parking lot. try finding a sign for congress street. if you are not familiar with the area bring a compass or hope someone will help you.
Dine out Boston
Went for Restaurant Week. Otherwise it could be considered pricey. The food was good, though a little to much butter. I ordered filet and the steak was cooked perfectly, but I think might have been sitting a bit as it was not hot. Otherwise everyone enjoyed.
Very good atmosphere . Food and service was excellent. Will definitely come bsck
Food took over an hour to come out . Food was under cooked asked for my Wagyu to be medium it came out rare huge waste of money. Only thing good about the meal ... was the baked potato. Highly disappointed.
