Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Bloomfield Hills Ratings and Reviews
Was there for Valentine's Day dinner. Service was attentive, but restaurant was crowded and staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Restaurant was noisy with close seating which made it hard for normal conversation. Food was very average at best. Food took a long time and taste/quality similar to much less expensive restaurants. Definitely expected more.
Overall just average. While service was good with it being a busy night, very overpriced for the food and restaurant atmosphere.
Everything was great, the appetizer took a bit longer than expected and was covered by manager without question (along with an apology when it was brought to table). They watch there order times carefully. Great attention to detail and wonderful waiter who described dishes in a way that made your mouth water.
My mother and I were looking for a nice restaurant. We were able to make a reservation on open table and thought we would give Eddie Merlot’s a try. It was such an amazing experience. Our server, Jared, was the best server I have ever had. Very friendly, efficient, and so knowledgeable of the menu. You could really tell he took pride in his menu and restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine menu was perfect. Thank you Jared and Eddie Merlot’s. We will definitely be back.
I took my husband here for his birthday after being referred by a mutual friend, knowing my husband wanted to try a good tomahawk and loves oysters. After reading some online reviews on my own i was a little aprehensive with the mixed reviews.Let me first say our entire time there from 6:45 to about 8:15 was impeccable! Our server Jared was Amazing ,knowledgeable, experienced, passionate, honest, and attentive..The food was incredible ,pricey but you get what you pay for undoubtedly!my husband has tried oysters in many states, different restaurants and he admitted those were by far the BEST he ever had!
We went for a Birthday Dinner and everything was excellent! The lobster Mac and cheese is to die for, our filet and sides were delicious !!!! Fantastic service and everyone is so so friendly and engaging!
Our Server Dan was excellent! Would go there in heart beat again !
Food was good, but I thought overpriced for the experience. All of the upholstered chairs need attention as the top 4 inches of every chair in the restaurant seemed they were taken from an old folks home and were either worn or extremely dirty. We were the first customers of the restaurant for the evening and, after being seated, were informed that someone had reserved that specific table for two hours later and that we could either move or make sure we were finished in time for them to prep the table.
First time at this restaurant. Excellent atmosphere, and great service. The appetizers were awesome. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. some of the best I have ever had, and the side dishes were just as good. We would definitely return again for a great meal.
Eddie Merlot's was very enjoyable. We sat in the bar area in a nice low top table so we got to have the best of both worlds. The Oyster's Rock was wonderful! The filet was perfect. I wasn't quite prepared for the prices, especially the wine list...beware if you take a date!
We dinned at Eddie Merlot's for my son's birthday having never eaten there before. What a mistake. Two of our 3 orders had problems. The salmon was plated without the spinach on the plate. It was then brought out to me in a gravy boat. My husband wanted his steak cooked medium (pink in the center) and it was dripping blood inside. The server completely agreed and quickly sent it back. I ran out of water twice (it was my beverage) and had to wait quite a while for a refill. The server brought us the dessert menu but then didn't come back for almost 10 minutes to take our order. Both tables next to us also had trouble. I overheard one table say to our server "we thought you abandoned us". The other table waited a long time for their completed bill. They could see the server talking to a table of guests (someone she seemed to know) and got up to flag her down. This is not the type of service expected from a nice steak house. We will never go there again. There are to many other good restaurants to pick from.
The waiter forgot to bring bread. We reminded him twice. Finally, it came after our appetizers. He then brought the wrong salad. The right salad never came. When we got our entrees, we said we didn’t want the salad anymore and he said he’d take it off the bill. He didn’t forget the bill but he forgot to take the salad off. We have been to this restaurant about six times and received good service once. The food is always delicious but they need to improve the waitstaff in a big way.
We had a great time spending New Years Eve here. This was my first visit and I will certainly make this a regular stop. Outstanding wine selection, absolutely beautiful decor and a very nice and professional staff puts Eddie Merlot high on my favorite list.
We were seated at 9pm and were not out until 11:35pm on New Year’s Eve. Yes, it was busy but over 2 1/2 hours is a little ridiculous. We had to rush out to make sure we made it to our midnight plans on time. The server was apologetic and I do t think it was his fault but certainly could have been timed better.
