Eddie Merlot's Prime Aged Beef & Seafood - Ashburn
We go here often and the food is usually great, this time it was awful. Soup and salad came at the same time. The ribeyes did not look like ribeye steaks and my order was placed wrong.
Excellent food and service as usual! We both enjoyed the quiet ambiance as well. And the wine was fabulous.
Good food and we'll prepared. Worth the $.
The Wagyu was a tad over cooked for our liking...wanted Medium Rare and it was more Medium. We will definitely be back and know to order more on the Rare side.
I really enjoyed my visit and the waitress. She was outstanding and she really took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and the service for everything was great.
New Years eve
The server was excellent. Not impressed with the food , Salomon was too sweet ribe eye was good no side order came with it . Other wise good.
Very poor service by the server. We waited 1 hour for our desert!!!!
Wonderful service and food on a very busy NYE. Keith and Carla did a wonderful job. No complaints.
I made reservations for New Years Eve dinner for my wife and me. Was seated in the bar area. Numerous people standing next to our table as the bar was full. With the level of noise, we couldn’t hear our waitress nor enjoy a conversation. My wife ordered sea bass as that is her favorite dish. The fish came out over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. They did refire the dish. The second dish was cooked properly and include the soy glaze that was not delivered with the first dish. One of the mangers came by and apologized and removed the fish from the bill which was appreciated. The side dishes, brussel sprouts and cauliflower au gratin were under whelming. The brussel sprouts were boiled with little flavor and the au gratin had about a tablespoon of cheese sauce.
Overall, did not meet my expectations for the prices. Will not repeat.
We came here and spent over $300 on dinner. Some points we waited over 25 mins looking for our waiter to order dinner. The experience took over 3 hours. Many items were forgotten, drinks weren’t brought out and the bill was wrong. Not sure I will be back.
Always good! Matt the GM goes the extra mile each and every time to make our dining experience THE BEST!
Two fillets, one bone in both were raw, lobster was under cooked. When this was brought to the managers attention he made it seem like we didn’t know what we were talking about.
Steaks came back out cooked to order.
We were surprised that a complimentary dessert ,glass of wine, coffee or Apology was not offered.
I have eater there before, and even purchased gift cards. Not sure I will return.
Took the family to celebrate my birthday and New Year's Eve. Eddie's made it really special. Wayne was our server and did a superb job! We started with filet potstickers and the BBQ shrimp. Excellent!! All of us decided on the filet mignon for our entrees. Super tender and flavorful. We had the potato croquettes and the cheesy cauliflower for sides and they were outstanding. Our dessert was an end of a decade knockout! See photo! So happy we celebrated at Eddie Merlot's this year!
We have dined at Eddie Merlot‘s numerous times and loved it. This, unfortunately was a horrible experience. The waitress, Jess, discouraged each of us were initially ordering. But this was only done to upsell us on a higher priced food item. Every single item we ordered, she negated by saying it wasn’t the best the restaurant had to offer, or that she didn’t personally care for it. Then she would proceed to offer a higher priced item. She also only spoke to my husband when I specifically asked her about the wine list. It took approximately 40 minutes for our entrée to arrive and not one of them was even slightly warm. The impression was that the food sat under warmers in the kitchen and was never bothered to be delivered to our table. Then, once our meals were finally delivered, Jess the waitress, came back to the table numerous times and rudely interrupted our meal by asking, among other questions, “What are you enjoying?” Really?
So disappointing especially since it was a special occasion.
12/24. Christmas Eve family dinner. Very pleasant evening with great service and food!
Christmas Eve dinner. We had a wonderful time. This is our go to place in the Leesburg/Ashburn area for fine dining. Food was marvelous and our server Jessica did an excellent job! We shared a shrimp cocktail. My husband got the Duroc Pork chops. I got the 10oz filet and we shared creamed spinach side. But for the icing on the cake we shared the brownie with cognac, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, pecans and raspberries. It was unbelievable good! It was a great evening.
Christmas Eve dinner with the family
This is hands down my favorite restaurant. I love the food it's so good. Great service!!
I came here with my family on Christmas Eve for a special dinner and Eddie Merlot's did not disappoint. The food and wine were amazing, and our server (I believe his name was Abdallah) was outstanding. He made sure we were always refilled on wine and placed the cauliflower strategically in front of my dad as he was super excited about the cauliflower. I appreciated that he did little things to ensure that we had a great experience. I will definitely come back for another special occasion!
We ordered a variety of appetizers this visit: Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Sesame Calamari, Maryland Crab Cake, Mediterranean Mussels, Tuna Tartare Oysters. We enjoyed each dish very much with the exception of the Sesame Calamari. We felt that the calamari were overcooked, they were chewy and tough to eat. However, the mussels were outstanding and the Tuna Tartare Oysters were delicious. Overall a wonderful evening. The service was excellent, as usual.
Christmas Eve meal. Wonderful service, food, wine.
Family Christmas Dinner
Every thing was absolutely incredible! Drinks, service, food etc was all you could hope for. Finished off the wonderful dinner with the Eddie's French Pressed Coffees that were perfection.
The better you dress, the more likely they will seat you in the main dining room
Always great food and service. Beautiful dining area or energetic upscale bar.
I wanted to like it more. Appetizer, salad and wine were very good. Steaks were good but they mixed up the order whereas I got medium when I ordered MED rare and my wife got medium rare when she ordered MED (we got different cuts so couldn’t just switch). And it was taking a while to get food so sending it back wasn’t desirable. But for the prices and service level this place strives for, shouldn’t have happened. And our server answered a couple questions with just one word “Yep” not what I’d expect at a place here two people spend well over $200 for dinner. Again, food was ok but there are better high end establishments.
Our small company party arrived at 6:40pm (our reservations were at 7pm) to get a drink at the bar. It took over 15 minutes after placing our orders to get our drink. At 7:05 I went to check on our reservation, they told me the table would be ready soon. They didn't seat us until 7:20pm. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before anyone came over. No introductions the waiter just started taking drink orders. We waited an additional 10 minutes for our drink and had to ask the waiter to take our order once he arrived (we even placed our appetizer and entree order at the same time to prevent delay). Everything was so slow. We had to request for our water glasses to be refilled. Some of the meals we ordered was under cooked and extremely salty. After we finished our entree at 9:30pm, the waiter started boxing up our food which took 15 minutes. He hadn't even given dessert menus to look over (we had to request them). At that point, 2 members of our party had to leave to relive their babysit since they were concerned with how long dessert would take which ended up taking a while. By the time dessert and coffee was served and finished it was 11pm.
We were very pleased with our experience at Eddie Merlot's. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The managers were very attentive and our server went out of his way to take great care of us. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend Eddie Merlot's!
We have eaten prior at Eddie Merlots and found the service much better. Not sure if it was due to Christmas parties but for the price we paid we thought service should of been greater. Waiter at first was attentive but seemed to drop off. Waited along time for drinks. Also, eaten plates hung around and should of.been cleared sooner along with water
Refills. We had guests from out of town and we’re disappointed. Will give it another chance as food is really good and ambiance wonderful. Hopefully this was a one off.
Everything about this place was fantastic! The ambiance, service and overall experience was excellent. We had a table of 12 and ordered A lot of different food. Everything we had was soo delicious it made the evening even more enjoyable. The Wagu beef was as good as I have ever had . I would highly recommend this place to anyone for any occasion and will definitely be back.
Top notch wait staff, responsive to every need. Great food, wonderful dessert! Very low key lunch spot.
The calamari appetizer is not recommended. Breading was too thick. Several pieces were clumped together with mushy, uncooked dough in the middle.
Fabulous Food, Drink and fun. Service was a bit slow, unusual for Eddie Merlot's, but still good. The Ribeye is every time .. excellent, cooked to perfection and plenty for two meals! (Dinner the next night!)
The food the staff and the overall experience was fantastic.
They have a great selection of wine and a good menu for all palettes.
Always delicious food with outstanding service. Thanks Taya who always give us outstanding service
Eddie Merlot's is one of the BEST RESTAURANTS in Virginia! The food is beyond delectable! This place is more than incredible!
Fantastic service and amazing food! The restaurant exceeded our expectations. The waiter was quick to correct a small issue with my order and offered me a free dessert to make up for it. Can’t wait to eat here again!
We went to Eddie Merlot’s for my mother’s 90th birthday. We were almost the only people in the restaurant, which makes your dining experience feel a bit odd, but allowed for solid service and ease for a large party to converse. I suppose it was due to being a Monday night? Though all was excellent, still not sure if price point reflects the experience.
Very good service from all at the establishment. The ambiance was very good and friendly
