Eclectic Bistro & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Went for dinner with a group of friends. Small restaurant (maybe 6-7 tables) but nicely set up. The other half was a small bar with a tv and high top tables. Food was unique and DELICIOUS. We read that the sauces are home made and they tasted it like it. Chef uses spices and flavors freely and they come across in the food. You will not have a bland meal. The pork medallions were big and very tasty and the Cajun shrimp pasta was also great. The calamari was a little dry but the sauce was very flavorful. A great and unique experience. Perfect for a birthday, celebration or even a date.
This is by far the best food place in Atlanta.
You will not be disappointed with anything in this place.
It's quiet, the service is friendly, and the food is like a five star treat.
I spent money on drinks, appetizers, main course, and dessert and I was delighted with everything I purchased. It was a very nice date-night.
10/10, and a must visit restaurant if you're in mid-town.
The food is also very surprisingly well-priced for the portions and taste compared to every other place in Atlanta.
My experience at other trendy places in town were that they were popular restaurants overcharging for sub par food. Absolutely not the case at this bistro! What a delight.
We arrived for our reservations and waited to be seated. We were not acknowledged for atleast five minutes. We were told someone would be right with us. It never happened. We decided to seat at bar and a waiter came over and told us the kitchen was closed and that he would atleast get us a drink. Never happened. We were not acknowledged again so we left after waiting for another 10 minutes.
Food was okay, once we got to the place the server (blonde guy) without asking anything told us “We don’t have a table for you guys”, I said that I had a reservation and even though they made us wait, the same guy was always rude, place is very small and VERY LOUD, if you want to bring a date or to have a talk with someone this is not the right place, service was very slow, and when I mean slow, SLOW!!, I’d never go back to this place, it was my first visit, I brought my mom that was coming overseas, totally disappointed. There’s was one woman very kind who was explaining and apologizing for stuff that she didn’t even have to, she wasn’t even our server, but the guy was very rude, with an annoyed face at all times. I never do reviews but this was really needed.
FIRST TIME HERE!
The food was really good and reasonably priced. We shared the buffalo chicken flautas— as expected, homemade, fried tortilla stuffed with moderately spicy buffalo chicken and some other stuff. We shared a salad and the crispy chicken schnitzel. The salad that was okay. I was disappointed it had plain cashews on it in place of the candies pecans on the menu description, but the dressing had good flavor. The schnitzel was an excellent choice. It has a lemon caper sauce and was fried perfectly. I don’t think it was very authentic schnitzel but it was delicious. The mashed potatoes it came on were also great!
The ambiance and service were not so good however. It appeared that they were short staffed. The manager greeted us and served our drinks before the waiter ever came (never apologizing or introducing himself). He was understandably busy because there was a holiday party of 10 or so people adjacent to us. He was really just focused on them, so much so that a couple that sat down after us walked out because they weren’t served or acknowledged by him. The slow service and loud noise from the party detracted from the experience.
I wouldn’t come here for an intimate or fancy dinner or one where you’re trying to impress someone. This did feel like a good place to unwind and catch up with an old friend— when you have plenty of time to spare. They had some TV’s in the bar area and a nice cocktail menu. I’ll be back, hoping for a better experience.
We had a small (12 person) company Christmas dinner at Eclectic, and the food was terrific! And given the number of other customers, the service was not bad, either. A bit slow getting our drinks refilled/etc, but understandable given the amount of staff we saw. Will definitely go back.
Living outside the perimeter when we have dinner intown we rely on reviews, we found this was a great option close to the Botanical Gardens. We brought our family and had a great night out. The menu is varied and cocktails are great. It was rather loud, and service was a little slow due to a large party. Beware if you have a party of 6 or more the tip is added without the server mentioning it! All in all we will be back...
We went cause we had a Groupon and it was only so so. The food is ok (except dessert which was awful) there’s one server for the entire restaurant and he’s completely overwhelmed .. the parking situation is very limited, bathrooms are not clean ... I would not recommend this place at all
It was a little slow. The bartender had to wear 3 hats the night we went. He was Host, waiter and bartender. My hubby and I still enjoyed our time cause we weren't in a rush. But finally the bartender received a bit of help. Considering there were 2 big dinner groups and a few coples in the restaurant, it was understandable. I just wish he had more assistance. It took a while for us to get our drinks and food. Overall we would go back. The food was great and the staff were nice.
At first the waiter seemed uncomfortable with handling a party of 20. He was huffing and puffing every time someone ordered a cocktail complaining that it would take him forever. They may have been short staffed. At any rate...the drinks were awesome and the food was even better.
We got there just as they opened, so it was very quiet, which was perfect since we were with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Even though we were the only customers, the server didn't hang over us, but was still very attentive. The food was amazing, the cocktails we're to die for. We'll definitely be going back!
This restaurant is very close to home and I want to like it. I had some delicious branzino here awhile back, so I was returning for the same dish.
When it was time for our order to be taken (I.e. not when the menus were delivered or when we were seated; but after we had made our decisions) , the server informed us that they were out of all fish. Since I eat very little meat and I am gluten free, that left few choices. I thought I make a veggie combo from some side dishes....but they were also out of the green beans. So, I had spinach and french fries for dinner.
We were the only people in the dining room on Saturday evening. I will also be snarky and mention that there are 2 grocery stores within walking distance if something runs low between food deliveries...
We found this hidden neighborhood gem a couple of nights ago and walked to it from Ansley Park. It’s next door to the Botanical Gardens and just across Piedmont Avenue from Westminster and Avery Drives. Kevin gave us friendly, welcoming service and we enjoyed our meals. Delicious lobster ceviche and fresh mussels!
We chose this restaurant because it was close to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens where we were attending an event AND they had an active Groupon. This is a small restaurant with a short but varied menu. Food was excellent. We will return even without a Groupon.
Been here before and each time is wonderful. The food and service are always good. We have previously dined here on Friday and this was Thursday night..early. Matty our server was great, but he was all ALONE!! Apparently on Monday and Thursday nights he is solo. This particular Thursday night was getting very busy for one person to work the bar and dining room. Suffice it to say, the service was not as good as usual. But, Matty kept a wonderful attitude and did his best. We will definitely go back.
I was so grateful with how accommodating eclectic bistro was for my event. I planned my birthday dinner a week before, via open table, after calling around all Atlanta trying to find a restaurant that would serve a party of 17 on a Friday night, without charging a huge deposit, limited payment options, and preset menus. When I booked Eclectic Bistro they made sure me and my guests felt welcomed, we were not rushed, the food and drinks were great, and we had a great time!! They took separate checks, we could order anything we wanted off the menu, they allowed us to stay past their closing time, and they even set up a few extra chairs for guest. It was a great find in the heart of Atlanta and I will definitely go back!
I had a birthday brunch here and it was amazing. The service was great. I wish i could remember my servers name because he was amazing. Honestly everyone there was friendly. We literally were hanging out on the patio for a few hours socializing and taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful day after our awesome brunch. They had $5 Mimosas so we ready to take the city from there. I definitely plan on going back very soon! It was truly such a great experience for me on my birthday and my very first time dining there. It was nice and intimate and cozy. FYI, not much parking in the front but they have more in the back.
It was amazzzzing! I came with a Groupon but I will be returning! Food was the best I had in ages everything super fresh and flavorful! Drinks were amazing! Everything made with love! It's a nice quirky family owned business and service was on point!! Lobster ceviche was amazing! Pork tenderloins amazing and so was the chicken schnitzel yummy!
My wife and I have been driving past Eclectic for months and have been meaning to try it for a while now. Well, we finally made it last Saturday for our weekly date night. And we were super impressed! We started with a cocktail, following recommendations from the server, along with the mussels in white wine sauce, which were probably some of the best we've had in Atlanta.
The main course did not disappoint either - the crispy chicken was super flavorful and the side of three cheese mashed potatoes were yummy! The salmon (and I'm not even a big salmon fan) was phenomenal - the roasted red pepper coulis that companied it was to die for! We didn't have much space left for dessert, but decided to take the chocolate mousse cake to go for later - and we certainly didn't regret it. Heavenly! It is unfortunately an undiscovered gem in the Piedmont park area and quiet for what we would have expected on a Saturday night! Well, we're definitely going back - it's definitely on our list of favorites!
What a GEM!! We had dinner their with friends and then walked (it is very close )to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for a concert. The food was creative and DELICIOUS!! Good menu, reasonably priced and the portions moderate in size. Service was excellent with a cordial staff. It was a charming place with a view of Piedmont Road. The only slightly negative comment would be that the air conditioning could be improved. It was warm in the old building.
